This is a very big deal for BMW and MINI. Why? Well, because it is the first ever BMW with a 4-cylinder engine that makes more than 300hp! And it also has a factory fitted LSD!

The mirror nob is in BMW like forever, it includes the motion sensor indicator for alarm, and if you don't have automatic rear view mirror you spin the nob to shadow the rear view mirror if vehicles behind you blind you with their headlights

Did the engine run out of breath near redline or did hold boost/power well?

It's a good car. Mine dimed in at 55k loaded and as a daily driver - great.

This would be amazing if it was RWD based. As is its a really expensive Mini. Personally I don't want that much hp and Tq going through a transversely mounted engine but that's me. At least Acura overdrive the rear wheels. Get a Golf R and save yourself some cash

I don't follow your logic. The Golf R is also transversely mounted with a 292bhp engine and FWD platform.

i love the overall styling of the X2 but i wish they would have dropped in a more powerful engine than this one. it would be a clear choice if it could compete with the performance like that of the Macan turbo, Stelvio, GLA 450 AMG . i drive a slightly tuned Acura RDX and performance is not that much better, so i'd rather go with a better performer.

i dont think you are correct on the 2:39 mark, the speaker do not have fake exhaust noise.

@@MotorPressReviews Well i just bought one. What it does it has a flap in the exhaust and in sports mode that opens up so you get the pops. i could be wrong as i didnt have my radio on

Yeah that happens too and you get the popping from the exhaust, but it also pumps some bassy sound via the speakers. It’s not bad, at all. Turn off your radio and put your hand on the speaker when in sport. You will feel it.

What are your thoughts against a Golf R?

The X2 is not as fast, nor as capable handling wise, but it’s taller and more capable in a variety of situations thanks to the extra ground clearance. Inside it feels more premium but the R is probably roomier. They are very different, can’t tell you which one I would pick. A GLA 45 AMG would be the best but it’s old now and $$$$$

Ha! The wheels are "rotating backwards" at "4:50",....stop rotating at "5:05/06"! LOL! A real skateboard! Edit: I like the look,...but not the "red" seat inserts!

I had an x2 loaner and I thought the transmission programming was utterly horrific in rush-hour traffic. I feel sorry for anyone who buys one of these.
