BMW X3 is the best in the class. Loved her enthusiasm, would have appreciated more details on the interior finishes. She was driving a base model. Higher end models have fully digital cockpits, seat ventilation, heads up display, large panoramic glass roof, adaptive LED lights, reclining rear seats, self driving approx 1 min and auto park etc. X3 uses outgoing luxury features of the higher 5 & 7 sedans which separates them from the competition.

BMW does sort of push it. I ordered a kit to swap my roundels from standard blue/white to carbon fiber/white. The kit included over 20 roundels.

Hey guys peasant user here, is connectivity really a big deal for you? I mean, google auto or apple airplay is available on your phone. You could simply install it and then mount the phone on your dash and connect to head unit through bluetooth.

BMW uses real wood, not fake wood. IIRC, you can get 2 versions of polished wood, matte wood, or aluminum trim on the X3’s interior.

I'm car shopping right now and this is one of the vehicles I'm looking at. It is by far the best vehicle I've test driven, my only hesitation is I've read that maintenance for these are really expensive. Even just the basic check ups can get pricey. Does anyone have any more info on this?

Alot to like here. I do wish the interior had a bit more contrast to it and the 40i wasn't almost 60k but the RWD dynamics are appreciated in a segment where manufactures are cheaping out. Very nice vehicle overall

Gaypex Legend unless you’ve actually owned one I wouldn’t listen to you. I had to trade off my 2014 X3 M sport xdrive too many issues. The electronics kept on breaking. Headlights went off on me driving at night, air condition failed, this one time it wouldn’t start, I could go on. And I was still at 30k miles

The only issue I have is that at 6:54 or so, it's incorrectly mentioned that it's "...a luxurious German import..." which it isn't, since this is made in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Otherwise, nice overview. It really should be mentioned that the Sport mode is pretty amazing and changes the entire car's character.

Great review as always. I was looking at the Volvo, but thinking about the Beemer. The fact that I can't get Android Auto for my phone is a strong push towards the Volvo. I know that's kind of a nit pick, but I use my phone for work and personal. I'm not going to change to an iPhone to suit my car.

Some sloppy mistakes in your video. Like the dashboard you were showing is NOT the optional full digital one, as you stated. Also, when talking about the M40i, the pictures show were of the basic X3 with the sport package. The M40i does not have the aluminum side skirts, but has body color bulges. So fun video, but sloppy on facts.

@@adriangarza6452 I doubt that the typical piano black trim in a given car is wood. I just had a rental Camry for a week (while visiting friends for the holidays), and the piano black trim looked 100% dusty after about a day. I am glad my personal vehicle doesn't actually have it.

Rigid just means that the body structure is stiff and resists vibrations. Stiff = comfortable. You don't want the bones of your car to be too flexible, or else the whole structure will wobble when you hit bumps. The body structure is also separate from the suspension. Take the Lexus LC 500 for example. Lexus claims it's the most rigid car they have ever built, including the LFA, but no one would say the suspension is the most stiff ever. Suspension is a separate thing. The stiffer the body, the more the car can rely on the suspension to absorb the impacts, thus smoothing out the ride.

Surprising that Lexus offers standard V6 on RX, but BMW doesn't on X3. Lexus may not be known as a driver's car, but the RX V6 is quite powerful indeed.

I don't find the RX "powerful", but it is peppy enough for most people I guess. It has more power than my IS 300 but is slower 0-60. Besides it's a lot bigger than the X3 and is more of an X5 competitor.
