We want to love ours but it reliably stalls and turns completely off in traffic and at stop lights. It seems to be linked to the Auto stop feature. When it dies after attempting to turn back on after auto stop it shifts into neutral. When we crank up afterwards the car shakes violently. We have had it for just under two months and it has spent more time at the dealer than in our driveway. Unfortunately the 2019 has no button to turn that dumb auto stop feature off. The way around it is to drive in L9 or open and shut the hood after cranking the car up. There is also a $200 after market part that bypasses the auto stop feature. More frustrating than the car is the response from the dealer we bought it from and the Buick dealer that they have now referred us to. We noticed the problem in less than two weeks after purchase when it happened and threw on the check engine light. We stopped in at the part store and codes were thrown out about the transmission. I wish we had requested a print out of those because on the way to the dealership the check engine light of course went off and, there is no history on the car's computer of the check engine light ever coming on. So we called the dealership and we were told that sales had to handle it since it was less than 30 days. Well that was a waste of time. The car went in to service twice and basically they had the salesperson be a middle man between us and the service department. Every excuse in the book was thrown our way as if the malfunction is our fault. First they said bad gas and then the battery but, when tested the battery was fine. So they just gave it back to us. The next day it died again. We took it in and they replaced the alternator. Over the weekend it died on us four times, once when we were trying to make a left hand turn at a busy sloped intersection. So we called and they said Buick could fix it. Three days later at Buick and still nothing. They said the same thing about the battery and then the alternator. Of course they are trying to say that what we're experiencing is normal in a car with auto stop, like we don't understand how auto stop works. We had a car in the past with auto stop, we know how it is supposed to work, this one does not work. Anyway just some simple google searches will show that the car has issues with it's fuel system and transmission. It's so bad that Lemon Law got involved leading to the recall because a family was involved in a collision due to transmission issues. I'm glad ours malfunctions at stops and not highway speeds. The 2019 Buick Enclave is actually listed by consumer reports as one of the ten most UNRELIABLE vehicles. Ours only has 50K miles and we are just the second owners. Yes it has had the recall work done so it is not that. Sure we can just purchase the $200 part or drive in L9 but the car is under an extended warranty and it would just be nice to be able to drive it normal and have it function properly. Is that too much to ask? Is it too much to ask that service takes our matter seriously? Is it too much to ask that manufactures don't wait until something bad happens and are faced with a lawsuit to address issues? Do not stop at this video and go buy one of these cars, do further research. Get a newer year Enclave so that if your auto stop feature is crap too you will at least have it as easy as pressing a button to turn the feature off. At the end of the day I kind of blame the green movement because the auto stop is Buick's work around to pass emissions testing. Prius did it better, just saying.
