I must like dated, boring designs because I love the look of this vehicle, inside and out. I’ve been disappointed by most redesigns as of late. I’m currently driving a 2015 Equinox LTZ, V6 AWD, which I bought used in early 2016 because I HATED the changes they made to the front of the vehicle for 2016, and I really hate the full redesign. I always like to look ahead and have an idea of what my next vehicle will be, and before the Envision caught my eye, I liked nothing. The trend seems to be that most manufacturers are either making their SUV’s look overly masculine or like a giant has pinched or smashed down the rear end. The biggest offender in my opinion is the redesigned Terrains. I think they’re absolutely hideous. I suppose everyone is different. Thank you for your in depth review. It was very thorough.
@normt54636 жыл бұрын
ravenlynn78 My wife liked the look of our 2015 Terrain thr best too. But after driving my 2016 Envision 2.0T while I was changing her oil she asked what I did to her Terrain to make it ride so rough. She has been duped by Buick refinement.
@ravenlynn786 жыл бұрын
Norm T, thank you. My fiancé had a 2012 Terrain SLT2 before trading it in on a Tacoma. I liked the look of of it a lot but thought the ride could be a little more refined. Oddly, I didn’t think my Equinox had the ride and turn ratio issues that the Terrain did. It seems like it should. That’s good to know about the Envision’s ride. I’ll know NOT to go test drive one for a while or I might be tempted to make a financially irresponsible decision since I’ve got a while to go before mine is paid off. :)

Things I'd like Buick to do with this car.....make it here in the US (I honestly don't care but just to no longer hear all the morons complain about it - get over it people, the auto industry is a global market), have more choices for colors inside and out, a dark brown leather would be nice, and a black headliner option (please!!). The start/stop in this car is by far the best I've driven. MB's and Audi's that I've been in that has it, it is very loud, clunky and very noticeable. This car's is very quiet, and with the radio off, I still could barely tell. This refresh is extremely subtle, enough so that it really looks no different. The rear is the most noticeable. I hope the 2020 model gets a complete redesign. This car was old when it first came here since China was selling it in that form for a couple of years, so it is definitely due for a complete redesign. I like the idea of making the overall body like a baby Enclave. That new design is gorgeous. Then the Envision can have an Avenir trim level too.

I have sold a few of these new but we are absolutely selling them like hotcakes as 1 yr old used vehicles with about 20k miles because you can buy them used under $30k. Senior citizens love them but I've sold them to all ages. I took one on a 600 mile road trip. It was the 2.5 Essence FWD model. Set the cruise at 75mph and got 33mpg with 4 people and luggage in the car. Very impressive and comfortable. Interior could be styled a little better and I agree with Sofyan that it should have tactile buttons for the climate control like the EnClave instead of the laggy mini touchscreen it has now.

No fake port-holes on the side! With those buttons on the door handle, how do you deactivate them on car washes - or do the keys get locked inside all the time? One touch up on the rear windows is actually dangerous for small kids, so that is why many cars don't offer it. Trunk is actually smaller than the Regal TourX by small amount.
@normt54636 жыл бұрын
Sam S The one touch windows down is pretty much to norm or don't push thr button down so far to control rear window height. We have a wild puppy that would be out the window after a squirrel in a second so I know what you are talking about.
@Buc_Stops_Here6 жыл бұрын
Not offered on the Regal, but offered on the Envision. Found that interesting - the line of Buick is not consistent in what they offer across the line. Probably because control of manufacturing is split between the US, China, Poland, and Germany across the brand.
@normt54636 жыл бұрын
Sam S Most GM of late have been one touch down or express down with the fronts being one touch up. Rears do not going auto up but do on my XTS Vsport which is not the norm. The wide bar is a lockout for the rear windows so rear has no control. I think the port holes on the side would be better has the ones on the hood hold water when washing the car. :)

I ended up choosing this over the BMW X3, Lexus RX, and Volvo XC60. Why? I test drive all four cars and the differences being commented on in this video are very minor. It is all in the manner of the tester and in this case the differences between all four cars is fairly minimal. Then again, while GM is very competitive on pricing the others were not. At $15,000 off list this was a great deal for the 2018 model year.
@brunothepug88075 жыл бұрын
I bought a LaCrosse after pricing and driving just like you did. I now have had it for just over 3 years and love it. The dealer service is way less expensive and good quality. I had a nail in a tire and when doing a basic service, they fixed it for free. OnStar is awesome and may save our life someday. Buick is just not a snob brand and that is just fine with me. I may trade my LaCrosse for an Envision if I get an itch. I doubt you will have any issues with your Buick at all. My wife's MB GLK 350AWD had been a disaster of early component failures one after another and service costs horrendous. Never ever again will buy a MB. Major issues like rear diff failure at under 45K miles. Really?
@jeffs60906 жыл бұрын
With this refresh, I am hearing that it will be in dealerships this month (April). I'm wondering how true that is. (I'll ask when I go there next week.) It would make sence because Buick (or at least my dealership) is offering 20% off Envisions right now, take delivery by 4-30. They did the same deal last month with the Acadia. Therefore, with the refresh that's coming being rather mild, it would make way more sense to get a 20% off 2018 loaded premium 2 that stickers around $51k. That's $40k now.

Jeff S Not sure when the 2019 Envision is coming stateside as we have a 2016 Envision Premium and on the social platforms for the car. Cars.com or Autotrader would be the first showing them around the country before your local Buick-GMC dealership. The pricing of 25-33% has been on and off since 1.5 years ago when I started looking. Best to buy in December coming up for the best deals.

Way to go Buick !!! great car, will definitely look forward to buying it. Especially considering the it's assembled in China, so I don't haven't to deal with attitude, uneducated morons, and instead get the increasing quality, constant parts without defects and cheapness in repair. Great car.

Update! did actually buy it. Its has been amazing! Yes made sure it was Chinese assembled, got lucking with Chinese assembled engine and tranny as well. Going rock strong 175K and driving like the day it was new. If you do your own maintenance regularly this car will go 300+.

I just can't get into anything GM is offering right now. The dash layout and overall design aesthetic, both the interior and exterior, just isn't doing it for me.

Very sad to say for a Buick this looks very cheap. I agree with you that clock to the right of the navigation screen should not be there really cheap it looks out of place as a matter fact the whole surround just looks cheap plastic to me.

Reading the comments I was surprised that this is a 'premium' brand, we don't have this car in the UK but we have the Vauxhall Insignia which is your Buick Regal and it's just a fleet car really, we don't consider it to be premium in the slightest they're just standard cheapish cars.

Hmm..Actually, if the 2.5L non-turbo has both HP and toruque with #'s in the 190's each, that's actually very high and possibly better performance, than like the loved Mazda CX5, which same #'s are in the 180's... depending on gear ratios, etc... this buick maybe faster 0-60 and quarter mile.. and for me, doing 0-60 in just under 8 sec., is my benchmark for a new suv to meet my criteria.. and under 16 secs for quarter mile... I'll have to check both engines out....

General motors is lazy damn ! They could have at least did what Ford did and used the recirculating exhaust gasses to keep the revs higher to kill turbo lag or did what Volvo did and twin charge the engine (turbo and super charging ) It's as if they are in it just for whatever cash they can get for building anything and get away with it . Old habits coming back again
@normt54635 жыл бұрын
Soyfan floored it with the engine off. There is no turbo spinning with the engine off. I can spin the tires from a stop with my Envision 2.0T with a ecu tune. GM Ecotec 2.0T has been around since 2006 where a GMPP performance kit tuned up power to 340 lb-ft of torque. Our 2016 Envision 2.0T is seeing close to 400 lb-ft of torque with Twin Clutch AWD with torque vectoring.
@g4do5 жыл бұрын
@@normt5463 let's see if you can at least get 400,000 miles out of that garbage can 2.0 liter ecotec . My 1994 Corolla DX odometer has started over and is now back at 30,000+ and still running like a sewing machine . General motors engines aren't built to last like that . Every GM product I've ever owned, cars and trucks alike , have died despite all of the maintenance and tender loving care . All GM parts and engines were built with an expiration date and you've shortened the life expectancy of your beloved 2.0 liter by increasing the performance. If you've got money to burn then by all means, burn baby burn. But all I buy is Toyota now . Zero problems, no situations leaving me stuck on the side of the road waiting on AAA services. My maintenance plan actually means something and won't leave me with a 4,000 engine rebuild like GM , Ford , or Dodge will . Hey , but you like what you like , that's cool . peace ...
