I'm so happy to hear you say that the pages of the Archer & Olive are too thick. I thought I was crazy because everyone else were so gaga over them, but I hate thick pages. I am a Leuchtterm and hobonichi girl all day. Love your flip through by the way.

I'm so happy you agree with me! I was worried I was gonna get hate for saying it 😂they definitely are lovely notebooks and a great brand! But i definitely prefer thinner pages, even though I despise ghosting haha can't have it all.

for a sketchbook maybe(heck, i dont even like thick paper for sketchbooks so nvm), but for a journal? thick pages drive me insane. even with lay-flat binding they dont lay flat!! the paper stands up and you have to hold it down to write, which defeats the purpose of the lay-flat binding... edit: sorry im a bit of a paper snob lol..

@@annabelle7123It may be the markers because I have never had any bleeding in my Leuchtterm journals; ghosting yes, but no bleeding. I have heard good things about Dingbats though. They are thicker than Leuchtterm, but thinner than Archer & Olive.

Your journal is SO pretty - I completely felt you when you talked about not knowing if the spreads weren’t working, or if it was the notebook, or just bullet journaling, and I definitely felt the switch when you went back to the Leuchtturm! I’m debating between going for a Moleskine or Leuchtturm, I am not a big fan of thick pages either so I will take that ghosting any day over the feeling of a sketchbook ahahahaha looking forward to your 2020 bullet set up (if you’re making one)! ❤️✨

I actually just posted my 2020 set up!! but yeah 160s is just like a sketchbook, not so much a notebook. I went with a moleskine for my 2020 bullet journal! Pages are definitely thinner, but I liked that the notebook itself was smaller

I got myself a Scribbles that Matter journal because I used one for all of 2019 and it was perfect for me. I love the 100 gsm paper because I feel like it's a good happy medium between the amount of ghosting in a leuchtturm but it's not excessive (at least for my purposes) like a 160 gsm archer and olive. I also really liked the built in key, index, and numbered pages. However, when I ordered a new notebook, the paper had completely changed to bright white 160 gsm paper. After seeing your flipthrough I worry that I will also feel constricted in a notebook that I don't enjoy the paper quality of very much. I think the paper in a moleskine is too thin and I'm not a huge fan of how dark the paper and dots are in a dingbats notebook along with the design in the front cover that I got sick of very quickly and the fact that all of the pages are perforated. I think the paper quality in a dingbats notebook is nice, it's just not for me. I think I'm going to order a different notebook for 2020 even though I already have one. I'm debating between getting a leuchtturm and trying to get a pen that won't ghost as much or getting the essentials notebook from Peter Pauper Press, which is $12 on amazon and has 100 gsm paper, with the only downside being that it's completely blank. If you read this all, you're a real one, but I hope that my perspective helped with choosing a new notebook.

I'm using a Lemome with 120 GSM pages and although the pages are a bit thicker than you'd probably like, they aren't too thick for me. The thing I'm not crazy about is that every page is perforated so if you flip through your book a ton you may see some pages starting to tear at the pref line. There's minimal ghosting. Pages can't handle watercolor paints at all, unless you like the buckled paper look. Lol. If you mainly use stickers and washi tape to decorate your spreads then you might want to give it a try. Mine (cork hardcover) was in a 2 pack on Amazon for like $16 USD. So I'll be using this journal style for a while... 😂

I used to do my bullet journals in an actual sketchbook because I wanted that thick paper and couldn't find a notebook with the paper thickness i liked. I don't even use watercolor or markers all that much in my bullet journal. I just have a pet peeve about ghosting and bleeding. even if my writing shines through the page just a little bit, it drives me crazy. I find that so distracting. I got a leuchtterm for Christmas, did one page, and gave up on it because i thought it was too thin. So I just ordered an archer and olive, because I do like the dots. so I don't want to go back to blank sketchbooks (even though they are much cheaper) But to each their own of course. my boyfriend loves leuchtterm too. I hope the archer and olive works for me!

Now I'm retired and suddenly from ultra structured to too much time. I jumped on the buju/planner/scrapbooking idea. But that first page is so empty and what if I make a mistake? What if I dont like it? What if I fail? But now, thanks to you and your honesty.... I'm ready to forge ahead, stumble and fail.... then turn the page and begin again! If for no one else.... I needed this video. So thank you from the bottom of my heart. Feel free to hit me up if you want my opinion on nursing...

I hope you keep up your personal style instead of the minimalism. Imo bujos are about creativity & individuality, that's why you're creating a planner/journal instead of just buying a generic one. I think your maxed out spreads are way cuter bc you can tell you had more fun with them & put more of yourself into them. I'm new to bullet journaling - I'm really just watching for spread ideas atm bc I've never made one before & I wanna get it right. In watching videos upon videos upon videos, by far one of my least favorite things about the bujo community is how similar everyone's journals look. Everyone talks the same, their journals look the same, & you can tell the people aren't being authentically themselves. Your busier pages were definitely some of the best I've seen. 💕 Lots of love from here.
