The transmission is what concerns me. Cast aluminum forks in the transmission are breaking, there is a backlog to get replacement parts and you are without a car for 2 to 3 months. Has anything changed? I love Mustangs but not the new downgraded transmission.

6 Piston Brembos are NOT standard on the Mustang GT. They’re included in the PP1 and 2 options. GT comes with 4 Piston brakes.

I would try and chrome the plastic splitters and try and put a chrome ring around the black rear deck and lights etc, match it a little closer to the original. Glad they've brought it to the UK but it's a little heavy price wise in comparison to the normal GT's

Depends on what you consider overpriced. Could you make a Bullitt out of 5.0 GT for less? If so, then it's overpriced. If not, then it's all what people like. There are good margins to be made in lots of luxury goods. If you're frugal, you'll just drive a used Corolla and shop at Walmart.

I have a 2017 gt350 I bought from Trishler. I love that car. Except for the fact hood is on crooked and some underwood screws been off which makes me wonder if they fixed it and didn't disclose it or if the Ford quality is that poor. Still car is awesome and beautiful. In fairness I have never brought up problem plus I paid 3000 premium over sticker just to get the car. At that time were hard to get.

Not sure if this was already said in the comments (because I'm not going to read all 293 comments (at this time), but the reviewer failed to mention there is no Mustang running horse logo on the grill. Worth talking about because every Mustang since 1965 has had a running horse in the grill except the Bullitt(s). The Bullitt movie director didn't like it, thought it was a distraction from the scenes where they shot the Mustang showing the front. I bought a new Bullitt in 2001, number 2939 Black (I hate green!) paid $27,xxx. Sold it six years later with 19,xxx miles on her for $16,xxx that's more than half of what I paid new. You would have never got that kind of resale value out of any other (stock) 2001 GT Mustang. Used the money to help buy a low mile Terminator. Still have that 19,xxx mile Terminator today!

There are many year models of Mustang GT500's with no Mustang running horse emblem on the grill. The '13 and '14 model year GT500's don't even have a grill. They do have cobras to the side though.

Those are SHELBYS, a specialty Mustang (not considered regular production, limited runs.) My 03 SVT Cobra doesn't have a grill, just a running horse (once again, not considered regular production, limited runs.)As we all know, both Carroll Shelby and Ford have built Shelby's. Weather it was in the 1960s or currently. I'll give you credit, the 1979-1980s Fox platform Mustangs only had the blue oval up-front. I believe the running horse came back with the SN-95 platform in the 1990s.

Yes, they're Shelbys, but for many years they're also production Mustangs. 2007 to 2014 GT500s were designed and built by Ford's special vehicle team and are Shelbys in name only. In many ways they were the marketing successor to your SVT Cobra. They sold on average more than 3,000 of them a year. You could configure them on Ford's website and you bought them at Ford dealerships and they carried Ford factory warranties. They were production cars built for the most part on an assembly line. You could take your GT500 to Shelby if you were looking for something special and have them do a Super Snake conversion. Those I would agree are specialty (non-production) cars.

I used the words REGULAR production and NOT REGULAR production. It's rather obvious that a Ford Mustang like the Ford built Shelby, SVT Cobra, previous Cobras or Bulllitts are not regular production. Ford attaches specialty parts (in some cases) major drivetrain components to a Mustang and you have a specialty Mustang unlike a GT or V6. That's more than "in name only" True, they could have called the newer Shelby's, Cobras, like the previous years, but that's all about PR and bringing in new customers. Weather Ford called it Shelby or SVT Cobra it's not a regular production GT or V6. You mentioned 3,000+ being sold. I'm not sure if you understand that 3,000+ vehicles for a major production automobile manufacture is a drop in the bucket. Just the fact they are produced in small quantities makes them a specialty vehicle (not regular production.)

I didn't pay close attention, but that was over the years from heavy duty steel valve guide sleeves in the heads. I remember it started with the 03-04 Cobras. May make a little tick, but the engines are pretty stout.

I've been working with these Mustangs 20 years and I haven't heard of them blowing up going down the road. You need to take rumors with a grain of salt. In 2011 and 2012 Ford put a "Skip Shift" feature in those transmissions and never told the public. From there, people didn't understand why their cars would grind going into second at skip shift speeds and they complained, (It was trying to make you go to 3rd) got on forums and started a HUGE ordeal. Ford dropped that feature in 2013. As for other transmissions, the only other major issues I have heard again as rumors don't always tell the whole story... are when people dump 900-1,000hp turbos or something on the cars they weren't designed to handle, blow up the stock clutch and send it through the transmission... that would definitely cause an issue....

John Trischler Ls eater andany others have to have shift forks replaced because literally they would explode Ford just announced a recall number and will fix it for free as of yesterday so yes mt82 transmission are blowing up look it up or call your local dealer they have to replace 3-4 shift fork and sincros also there is a recall on something in the motor failing at 6000 miles this is 18 and up

There is a TSB for the 3-4 shift fork and a 3rd gear synchro change, but get real. Transmissions are not "exploding". Also, where did you hear there's a recall on the motor? A recall is a very specific legal term these days so you need to be careful what you say. Recalls can only be issued if there is an immediate safety issue...in other words people need to be getting hurt or worse.

Like the shift forks, there is a piston slap issue on the 2018 5.0 motors and quite a few owners have documented their motors destroying themselves with less than 6k Miles. Some as low as 1500 miles which is still break in miles. Like the shift forks catastrophe, these owners aren't beating on their cars but just driving them to work and shuts majorly breaking. Many did buy backs having Ford buy back the 18 and replaced with a 19 not knowing if improvements have been made. I would assume no improvements aside from TSB replacement parts for those who aren't modded. Ford hopes guys will mod their it's and will get denied warranty work. Every manufacturer is this way. The 2020 GT will have all the improvements to trans and fix the piston slap. If you own a 2018 gt and think you hear knock at idle and low revs take it in right away and don't mod it. A loud exhaust will make hearing piston slap and rod knock near impossible to hear until too late.

I have a 2017 GT PP with an after market tune(which included a throttle body and cold air intake). It's plenty of car for me but I'm old (having owned at about the time of the original a 60's Sunbeam Tiger Mark II). A GT350 is out of my price range but I would consider the Bullitt. I like the Chevy and it does look aggressive (performance-wise it's great) but it's not really my personality. To each his own.
