Cadillac deserves a lot of credit, all their cars are great looking and completely different from other GM vehicles. I love Cadillac because you can tell it's a Cadillac from a mile away, while other brands all blend together. These new Crossovers are impressive, now I wanna see a new CTS, ATS and XTS

I'm quite surprised and ultimately impressed to see Cadillac not only using minimal part sharing (with other GM products), but actually developing an all-new platform that isn't shared with any other Chevy or GMC crossovers! Quite impressive indeed. All in all, the XT4 should compete and hold its own very well in its segment. @jeffs60906 жыл бұрын
Agreed! Fully loaded, it's $10k too much. This really should have the XC40 as it's direct competitor. That fully loaded is in the $43-45k range, and imo a much better all around car than this Caddy.
@devongee17766 жыл бұрын
@@jeffs6090 couldn't have said it better myself. It's just way too much for the size and scope of what they're offering. Of course this is top trim and stuff but theres not exactly an insane amount of shit in this car that I dont see happening in the non-luxury full-size sedans that are in the mid 30s and low 40s. I just can't justify another 16K just for a higher ceiling. The car's not safer or made of a different material so what's the deal here?? This is why the American vehicles dont beat Japanese
@jeffs60906 жыл бұрын
@@devongee1776 - full disclosure... I drive a loaded XC40 (about $43k), and I utterly love it! The XT4 might be slightly bigger, but it has a less powerful engine than my T5 (a ~180hp T4 will come soon). Then with all the same features, I would never put down another $10k for this. I feel that this car will just make people go straight to the Volvo dealerships (or others). Plus, the worldwide demand for the XC40 is through the roof.

Devon, The 56K price tag is a MAX'd out vehicle with every available option on the order list. Very very few people will order/buy such a vehicle. Any vehicle if ordered with all options will price out well above what most people are willing to pay. This vehicle very well equipped has an MSRP in the mid to upper 40K range. Every car period needs those things as standard, along with blind spot detection and other safety tech in the realm of those. They should never be options in a package in cars nowadays. They need to be basic safety a la the seatbelt, abs, airbags, etc. It's especially a huge slap in the face when your starting out with a $50k car and those basic items are in an options package. Cadillac's headlights look great but they're literally blinding at night
@XINKSWAG6 жыл бұрын
Ervin0310 exactly they’re too bright when they past my car at night, you would think their high beams are on
@mscongeniality82056 жыл бұрын
Ervin0310 lol most newer vehicles have bright low beams that blind you at night if you’re dumb enough to look into them. It might just be the angle that you’re looking into their lights that’s blinding you as well. If you’re at eye level or below you’ll definitely be blinded at night. I have experienced this before while driving in front of a Escalade since they have a 5 level vertically stacked LED low beam setup, literally 4 or 5 different heights of light displayed. They also sit higher off the ground than most vehicles on the road so if you’re in a car it’s possible you’re exposed to it’s brightest beams of light. I hope the new Escalade has adaptive low beams as standard or at least as an option.
@ShellymanStudios6 жыл бұрын

Ms Congeniality you say that as if I don’t know that a lot of new cars have bright headlights, and who said I was staring into them? Coming from behind the glare is ridiculous. Whether I’m in an SUV or a low sitting car the lights reflect off of every mirror and piece of glass possible BLINDING me and night. Coming from the opposite direction they’re BLINDING regardless of the vehicle type. I said what I said. Thanks for your input tho.
@mscongeniality82056 жыл бұрын

First off, this is the most well done First Drive review I've seen of this vehicle to date. Well done. My wife currently has a full size 5 passenger crossover and she's looking to downsize as we will be empty-nester's next year. The sub-compacts are too small. This vehicle looks to be the perfect size. Smaller but, not too small. The Premium Luxury package has all the right features and comes in at the mid to upper 40K price range which exactly what we are willing to pay. I don't imagine Cadillac will sell many in the mid 50K price range.

Excellent Review, just leased one today, a fully loaded 54K version. Surprisingly they lease very well. So Cadillac is betting on high residuals, true or not 3 years later. But for under 18k or 22K you can have one for 3 or 4 years which is less than the depreciation if you purchased one outright.

I just test drove new XT4 today. It feels much better than XT5, seriously great peppy engine, great acceleration. Much better interior quality, decent optional Bose system, although it could've been better. Excellent infotainment system, touch screen is clear and responsive like iPhone. Where it lacks: terrible body roll while cornering (at least without upgraded suspension), rear legroom is average at best, rear seats are garbage - backs are too upright, no one can relax there or stay comfortable. Driver's right knee is rubbing the plastic trim of the center console, if you are 6 foot or taller, it will be a problem. Stock audio system is junk, it sounds like something from Chevy Cruze. Overall: good try Cadillac, but competition is way better. New RAV4 is going to be way better and much cheaper too.

Interior reminds of the Jaguar E-Pace's, which is a good thing. And thank God this one looks way better from the outside ...

Just got one and I love it. My only complaint is it didn’t come with standard imbedded navigation

This is a relatively good review of a relatively good looking car. Really though. Nice review!

What's the obsession with soft touch material on the dash? Are you going to be sleeping up there?

Its represents how luxurious or how well the build quality of the car

Oceanic Flight how come soft touch material in Toyota and Lexus lasts for decades? Even in the California sun?
@nickr34416 жыл бұрын
Depends if you put a sun riser on or not. But that leather will fade on the dash fast in the sun.

DIAMLER did you forget about the recall Toyota and Lexus have done and are doing on their soft touch dashboard that cracked and melted?

Excellent review Sofyan, Cadillac makes you pay for their Union production coasts @$60K. Now 12k retail off of this model shown, deal or wait for it preowned.

Awesome review 👍 However, I feel it's a little expensive for the top trim with all the options included. That's sad. But over all, it's a really cool looking car.

Reminds me if a Ford Edge and a Honda CRV had a love child. Not a fan of CUV's, but for what it is its nice.

How would you recommend this versus the new 2019 RDX? In the market for a new mid-suv this year.
@theredline6 жыл бұрын
Lee Taing Tough choice! You can’t go wrong with either though. The Caddy has a lot of appealing qualities but so does the new RDX. It’s one of our favorites in the segment. Overall, unless you’re partial to the styling of the XT4 or have to have massaging seats, we’d probably lean more toward the Acura. It’s a better value, is quicker, more fun to drive, and offers more interior space.

Really nice car. Great review. And, you made it the whole way without saying "not your grandfather's Cadillac."

A V-sport version of that with the twin-turbo 3.0 would be ultra sweet!

Oh Thank Goodness they finally fixed CUE and went back to hard buttons instead of the stupid haptic feedback touch crap. I think it is the same in the CT6 as well. Now if only they put it in the new CTS I am definitely considering one. Too bad the ATS is going away, wish it had got this upgrade ,but hopefully the new CT3/CT4? has it
