I prefer racing at the strip .. I am a drag racer! We were not at the track and it was not open so we decided to run a few times on the highway just for fun. Hopefully soon I will see a 2019 Camaro at the track so we can run it

It’s a lot easier to do a side-by-side pull on a highway for a few seconds as it’s less intrusive in other peoples lives and less noticeable to the cops. Plus we get to see just a power/torque advantage vs possible driver mod. Looks like the extra torque of the hemi had a initial advantage but then the Camaro was edging up.

I've done a massive amount of street racing and the Camaro was definitely pulling harder up top. Second race he was in wrong gear, hit limiter, or didn't start at the same time. It was getting ready to walk when you lifted first race. I've raced stock to stock in 2017 and the Camaro was faster then. Admittedly they're very close. Like so close it doesn't even matter cause both are amazing cars and very fun to drive. I find the scat more fun to drive on the street, low end makes it feel like it has more power.

If you can drive a manual, my advice is to go with a 2SS or 1SS 1LE camaro. Both straight line and taking corners is phenomenal with that car.

Have the 2019 SS love it but hate the sound of the idle on my ss the dodge sounds awesome the camero sounds like rattle..my only complaint the engine sounds like crap at idle .

m ob Looking back I liked the challenger as a car more but the Camaro handled and sounded better, I just couldn’t get over the poor visibility though and ended up trading it for a Hellcat. It’s been 2 years now and still content. Super comfortable and satisfyingly fast stock on just drag radials.

June Bug Pretty close in reliability overall but the Hellcat will be more costly to fix IF there’s a major failure. That’s if out of warranty of course. There were some with supercharger bearing issues pre 2018. Pretty low failure complaints on the forums even modded.

RacerX reviews are spot on If anyone’s considering either of these cars I can assure you that after owing both (Manuals) I was most surprised in how well the 2015 Challenger SRT handled because I didn’t buy it for the handling that torque is intoxicating never did I feel that it was clumsy but it needed wider tires but! After I drove my friends Auto and as much as I love manuals I regretted getting the manual that ZF gear box is incredible it just reads your mine and I’m a die hard Manual guy. As of now I’m on the fence about which should I buy the 2020 charger widebody, or a 2020 2SS Auto or go all out and get a ZL1 or Hellcat at least it’s a win win decision and it hurts me to say it will definitely be a auto (UGH) LOl.

For the first time I’m unable to reach a decision so I’m just saving my money and waiting, so many good cars out there and to add I don’t particularly like the crack and pops on the Camaro seems to much and gets old after while with my manual it was ok but with a auto not so much. I like and respect both. I traded in my challenger for a SS and I enjoy the Camaro more. I like the fact that I don't see as many Camaros on the road as challengers/chargers. I also have way more random gas station conversations and thumbs ups for the SS.

40-140 should be the roll standard. Your missing the acceleration from 40-60mph. 20 is too low but 40 shouldn't have alot of wheelspin. At 60 its whoever gets the jump wins the race. I think the dodge jumped but that's just a guess?🤷‍♂️

Among those the SS 1LE would be the most fun and fastest on anything with corners. The GT would most likely be the fastest in a straight line (all 3 are pretty close, but the GT has the most freaks in the 11's stock).

I'll will chime in I bought a 2016 Mustang GT which I traded for a Charger 2016 Scat pack. And my friend had a 2017 SS. It ain't even close, at high speeds the Scat feels much more in control and well planted. The Mustang was scary and the SS wasn't too bad. But at high speeds, with the Charger you never feel like the car will get away from you. The Mustang and the SS have that "floating feeling". It was really bad with the Stang. I know Ford made some changes I believe to address that. The Camaro was better, but not as sure footed as that Charger. No doubt the high weight of the Mopar keeps the car planted.

I was very impressed with my friend's 5-speed 2012 Charger 392 Superbee. It weighs around 150lbs less than the standard 392s, and with just an exhaust it pulls on newer stock 392s. There was an article saying that the 0-60 in a 392 Superbee is more violent than that of a hellcat due to gearing in the trans.

Camaro is a good car but like you say it's hard to see around with the small windows to make lane changes etc. I had a 79 Z28 that was the same way. My preference would be the Challenger because I've been a Mopar fan for many years. I would prefer the Hellcat redeye rater than the scat pack.

I have a Challenger 1320. I am a Mopar owner although I had a 78 Corvette Silver Anniversary Edition back in 1979 and several GM cars previous to that. That said, I believe that GM should not discontinue the Camaro. We need variety in American muscle cars. That way, everyone gets a choice as to what to buy.

@@nathangraegin1850 Are you referring to FCA's numbers? The factory 1320 with passenger and rear seat delete is 3.8 seconds 0-60, and 11.7 seconds in the 1/4 mile. The Demon also had no passenger or rear seat as well as skinnys on the front for the drag strip. There was a guy recently whose daughter bought a rear seat delete 1320. This guy removed the passenger seat, put his Demon skinnys on the front and put a light weight battery in the 1320. He did an 11.48 second 1/4 mile. There is a guy who had a fully loaded 1320 at Mission Raceway who did an 11.94 second quarter mile in not perfect Density Altitude and track prep. All seats were in the 1320 at that time and factory wheels.

I'm currently awaiting delivery on a new Challenger skat'pack. I have previously owned several Corvettes from the early 70's thru the early 2000's. At present , I'm driving a Honda S2000 bought new in '06 and also have a 91 Toyota Celica GT as a beater. I must admit I really do think that the Camaro is a better looking car than the Dodge but, I have always had a deep down desire to eventually own a Hemi. In case you're wondering, I'm using the Toyota as a trade-in.

Suspension is a little stiffer in the Camaro. Comparing my 98 Z28 to my 13 Daytona charger. My camaro is better handling and you feel more bumps. My charger handles very well for a big car. Takes bumps alot better for sure.

The challenger is one of the most sexy cars ever made, this is the reason why the car Style Type has not changed in over 10 years for the most part, the tail lights on some are a little different but the car overall is the same because it's awesome just the way it is, and it works. Challenger beats out Camaro and Mustang with it's comfort. When you drive a car you want to feel good and that is where the Challenger excels, plus it has plenty of power when you need it. I prefer driving the charger but it does not look as good as the challenger. Some chargers can look very good, but those are custom, but any stock Challenger driven off a lot will look amazing. Challenger wins the spot for the best looking car and best comfort muscle car. Mustang wins for best overall performance muscle car Camaro wins for the middle ground for good looking car, decent performance. So it depends what you are looking for, do you want the best looking car? Go for the challenger, do you want best performance? Go for mustang. Or if you want something in the middle, not the best looking but also not the best performing but a combination of both go for the Camaro.

Swap the Challengers mid mufflers out for mini racing bullet mufflers. And it will sound amazing. The crackling usually happens when your slowing down and the transmission is down shifting. But to better hear the crackling tou need to loose those factory mid mufflers. I did this to my scat pack and love it. If you want more sound then just do a complete mid muffler delete. Or get high flo cats and a custom tune.

I'm 6 foot and have the same car the SS I have lots of head room ..2019 I love it ..you don't like the window ..it's a sun blocker it cuts that glare it cuts off a bunch of things that you have to drive to understand.. Fabulous video I’m happy with my choice of my shaker scat pack Challenger as I owned both Mustang and Camaro . It’s too bad the Camaro will be out of production soon especially with all the great mods out there . My only gripe about my car is the tires , which I’ll change soon . Keep up the great work .

One of my coworkers has a ss camero. Upon doing a 392 swap in my 2005 Ram truck I was challenged by him at the track . After two runs he was ready to race something else that he would have a chance to beat 💓😏. The funny thing was the Friday morning before the outing at the track I was asked, what if you spent all that money building your truck and I beat you with my Camero? I told him that a car should beat a truck but, good luck! Then I asked. What if you bring your pony car to the track and my muscle truck beats it? Haha!

Do it from a dig, stock tire for stock tire. From a dig the Scat Pack will spin and is to heavy, I've been in both the Camaro SS is quicker out of the gate and in the 1/4 mile. Been to the track and watched it on the street. Of course from a roll you eliminate the spin in the Scat Pack. Of course your going to support the car you currently own.

Camaros are fast from factory that's the only thing where they are better. On the other hand, challengers are bigger, roomier, more comfortable, better interior quality(not to mention infotainment tilted downwards in camaro), and seats (off course in challenger they are sofas). most usable rear seats in coupe with ac vents on back as well. bigger trunk. better visibility. last but not least "that retro look in challengers, specifically shaker" is something very rare. for some reason 392 shaker looks more beautiful than a hellcat(my personal opinion).

They also handle and brake better. They are also faster when modded. Challenger is a great car too. More of a cruiser. Camaro more sports car

Great video, I really enjoyed the comparison and the honesty. I love both cars but bought a 2019 Dodge Challenger R/T because of the price and interior room. My wife and I travel and the Challenger is a much better riding road car than the Camaro.

i love both cars dearly and just drive both tonight... i hate to say it but the Dodge is much more thilling.. afterwards the SS was really not a big deal but that SS is much much better in the corners, much much tighter/sports car feel. but damn that 6.4 goodnight

Both are great cars but I prefer the camaro. Lighter and its a lot more nimble. You'll be able to corner at speeds you better not try in that big heavy Challenger. On top of that I've owned mopar products before I'm gonna stick with GM.
