Just curious about your opinion on which is the most enjoyable for long rides/cross country riding. Trikes, sports bikes, choppers or street bikes or other(one I have not listed or something that is a bit of a mix..ie custom bike.)? I have mostly done some sport bikes and did a few neighborhood rides with a friend's chopper(a bit out of my price range at the time so just borrowed his for a test drive.) and I did some light off road (gravel, dry dirt roads during summer.) on a trike which I thought was kind of nice not having to lean into turns as much as I do on my old kawasaki street bike. (Kawasaki ZZ-R1200 I got for about $1600 used along with a trade for some parts I had that he needed for his mustang. back in the early 2000s, I believe.) Its a good bike, still runs fairly well and I try to keep her maintained as best as possible. I have been planning for a long distance road trip some time in 2020(work keeps me busy so hard to get any time off due to work loads. I set some time off time ahead with my boss.), the old Kawasaki is ok for short road trips and around town..but I would not trust it for long rides. I have set aside funds and just wanted to get another persons opinion on what is the best ride for long distance and for reliability. (I've only looked into things recently as I have been out of touch with biking for awhile so I am not up to date with all the latest stuff out on the market.) I really enjoyed your helmet reviews and I have thought about getting a helmet with a HUD in it to make things easier and hopefully safer for me to see my speeds, as well as for easy directions using a gps type setup on it. Anywho any advice or guidance would be appreciated. I know seat padding is an easy fix for comfortable rides, I have tested a few different helmets that different friends have gotten that were newer(none with a HUD though.) than just the standard tinted riding helmet I have been using for over 10 years now. What is really important is a smooth ride, comfortable siting position and something that is easy on the shoulders and hands.(getting old so arthritis is starting to be a thing unfortunately.) I told them about my disability. There are always things that can be done to customize it for disabled people.

In 2012 I lost most of my left leg in a motorcycle crash. Ive spent these years rebuilding the bike I crashed, but reverse trikes and an automatic were always my dream setup to get back into riding. Everyone is hating on it but if you want a comfortable cruiser that can also take corners pretty well this is really cool not to mention lane splitting is illegal and if you are in traffic it's a auto so it's much easier to drive and it looks allot like the Polaris slingshot with how angular the body is. I bet if you but some wider sticky tires on it it would be even better in the corners.

The biggest problem with reviews like this is there is a technique to riding a trike much like driving a car or truck yet people keep trying to compare it to a motorcycle. Sport trikes do require a different way of riding using a stiff arm approach which eliminates the feeling of flying off and reduces effort to near zero. The odd feeling on the open road is due to one trying to steer the trike rather than just letting it follow its own groove. Upgrading the anti-sway is a good option also. Nice review !

I have a 2016 can-Am RT Limited SE6 (semi-auto) I was a two wheel rider for over 30 years. It took me 1500 miles to forget some motor cycle (2 wheel skills) and learn new skills for the 3 wheel layout...and the anti-lock single peddle brake and no clutch....I am not disabled..I just prefer the 3 wheel layout. I use my bike as a long distance touring machine and tow a camper....I will never go back to 2 wheels......

Ordered the Rally Ryker today, currently own a the big Spyder RT since 2013 and a Harley Softail since 1993. I’m 59 and my RYKER is for my country home because I’m on a 4 mile long gravel road, not safe for riding 2-wheel bikes on. Great review, thank you!

I too have ridden bikes for ever I had a major stroke a few years back that robbed me of my balance. I spent 1 month in the 1st hospital and another month in 24/7 rehab! Had to re learn to walk and talk again. Years later I’m doing great (thank God) but the balance thing hasn’t returned 100%. This would be perfect for me and the wife to get the wind back in our hair!! Thinking about an Spyder F-3T next season. I think the bigger bike would be the one for us. I use to have a standard Valkyrie that we loved. That 1530cc flat 6 was a dream!!!

Went to the same dealer on Cobb parkway 9/3/2020 met a young brother who’s name was Randolph who was actually picking up some accessories for his wife who’s bike it was that he allowed me to take a test drive on right there in the parking lot. And boy I tell ya what an experience, I was completely sold after that short ride. I thanked Mr. Randolph for allowing me to be blessed with the thrill of test riding the very bike that I came to the facility to purchase for myself. I signed up to take the driving course, and after speaking to one of the salesmen I think I’m gonna go ahead and upgrade to the Ryker 900 rally addition. Can you say...SHA’PANG’YEA!!!

Love it! Looks great, and so easy to work on too. That's my only complaint about my Spyder RTS is that it's a PITA to work on. I have loved single sided swing arms since the Ducati 916. Who is this for... well judging my Chases honest reactions to what it felt like. This is for anyone that wants to go have a blast on a powersports vehicle. Great for all people not just those with disabilities or first timers etc. Go take one for a test ride and it will change see for yourself. Don't test ride one if you can buy or finance one cause you may just find yourself wanting. Couple other quick notes, no power-steering on the Ryker like there is on the Spyder so if you are missing an arm, may want to test ride both. If you like to work on your own rides Ryker wins over Spyder, also those mirrors can spin down under the bar level too if you want that cafe racer look.

Looks nice, I had a major stroke a few years back. Recovered very well but my balance never returned 100%. This could be my answer. Have ridden bikes (motor bikes) my whole life but thought my bike days were gone. Still have my original Kawasaki LTD 750 in the grange but thought my ridding days were over. Wife and I would ride my 97 Valkyrie tons of Mikes every summer but she wouldn’t ride with me due to my balance issue, and frankly I don’t blame her. I’m really fine otherwise as a matter of fact the doctors were really impressed with my recovery. Some of the others in my rehab didn’t do so well. I’m almost 100% back to normal except the balance issue and I’m not as strong as I Ustl to be, but I can work on that. Weight training can work wonders!!! One of these might be the answer to me and the wife getting back on the open road!!! Thanks for the great review!!

After taking the 3 wheel course, I've noticed that the stock seat isn't all that "big dude" friendly. Something to keep in mind if you're that size. The CVT can feel a bit jerky from a stop but it's fun otherwise. Definitely need to give these more of a look.

I have ridden all my life, but I fell in love in 2008 with the Spyder I have a 2008 GS , and a 2014 STS And I'm buying a Ralley edition , I love my Spyder, but I'm buying the Ryker for its tiny size and sitting almost on the Pavement! My GS wants to fly all the time! My GS, I replaced a tire a month for the first 7 months, 3 in the first month, it will smoke them off, i love my Spyders... On the brakes, their ABS on all Spyders.

I have driven both bike the Ryker and the F3 and the difference is in the transmission, the Ryker has the CVT or snowmobile transmission and the F3 has a more electric automatic transmission and one is more expensive for a reason.
