Edge is a solid vehicle in my experience. I own a 2009 with 190k, no major issues still runs like a champ. With this dependability in mind, I just bought an Edge ST and absolutely love it!! Took me a couple of days to get used to the dial shifter, but now I actually prefer it to the manual shifter. Let’s face it, most if not all vehicles will come with either dial or push button trans in the future. I test drove just about everything in the midsize CUV market and went with the Edge ST with all the bells and whistles. Wanted a family hauler with some umph. And believe me it’s got some umph! It may be a little pricier, but that doesn’t bother me at all. Great review brother, just sub’d.

I really enjoy your reviews, and I know that all the auto reviewers are somewhat limited by what the dealerships want them to review, and subsequently provide, but I wish that the "KZbin" reviewers would review trim levels that more realistically reflect what most people will end up purchasing. Many of these "Platinum//Elite/Limited" type vehicles, are not representative of what a lot of these models look, feel, and drive like in the lower trim levels. Rant over...thanks for your good work, it's appreciated!
@PrimeAutotainment5 жыл бұрын
Thanks David! I know what you mean. I get a lot of people asking the same thing. Sometimes the dealerships are ok with me showing any trim...if it’s brand new and redesigned usually they want too trim lol. Press vehicles are another story. Those are almost always the most expensive lol. Occasionally not. I’ll continue to grab random trims from dealers if I’m able! Thanks for the support!
@gmpatriots255 жыл бұрын
@@PrimeAutotainment Thanks, Nolan, for your kind reply...I know there are factors beyond your and other reviewers control. I especially like your reviews because they always seem to be really objective. Many reviewers seem to interject too much of their personal preferences and likes/dislikes into their reviews. There also seems to be this sport of making fun of any cars/suv's that aren't fast off the line, or good in the curves. You present a very level unemotional picture of what a particular vehicle will be like and drive like. Thanks, again for your great reviews.

Nice to see you review the Edge. We got 2 2016’s in the other day and I must say I was very impressed with them. Major step up from the ‘07-‘14. They ride great. One has the EcoBoost and one has the V6. Both are pretty impressive, but the V6 seemed to have the edge in my opinion. Overall they seem very solid and substantial. I like the new front end for 2019. Ford stuffed a whole lotta stuff in this thing as well. I’d still rather have a traditional shift lever over the rotary knob though. I have used the parking assist in an Escape, but I imagine it works the same in the Edge. Overall it worked very well. It was able to parallel park and back itself into a regular spot. You control the transmission and the brake. It controls the steering and tells you what gear to have it in and when to brake. It was very easy to use. Great review man! Oh and that ST....do it. Get it!
@PrimeAutotainment6 жыл бұрын
I’ll be doing the Ranger in a week or 2 (I think). Once again I feel the same way you do lol. I wish they kept the V6 but that’s how things are going.. Interesting to hear about the parking assist, I’ll have to demo that next time lol. Thanks for your continued support and Happy New Year!
@tigerfan82446 жыл бұрын
No problem Nolan. Glad to support your channel. I missed you mentioning the V6 is gone. It’s a shame, but you’re right. The times are a changing. The EcoBoost had good get up and go, but the V6 had a slight edge IMO. Weird, because I’d take an EcoBoost any day in the F-150. I liked these so much, I told my sister to check these out in addition to the Forester. She had an ‘07 Edge and loved it. Anyways, looking forward to the Ranger review. I’ve heard the EcoBoost in those are quite entertaining. Happy New Year to you as well!

Nice review! I like the evolution of the edge. I certainly think it will please conservative Ford buyers. I personally prefer other looks, but if you’re a ford guy, this is a step in the right direction to being more competitive. The only flaw I see is the pricing, as Ford’s real benefit from a reliability standpoint is good quality control for their suvs & trucks. I am still not convinced that American cars are good buys, in any segment except perhaps trucks. Overlooking that though, this has become more desirable! I like the simplicity - it just needs massive rebates & discounts!
@PrimeAutotainment6 жыл бұрын
Verns The Man thank you! I agree with you. I was thinking about that pricing and at the dealer they already had some discounts in these things. MSRP was close to $45 but I think it was priced closer to 40 if I remember right. Especially considering improvements in the compact class, especially the new turbo Mazda at a lower price. Sad by true in American cars..thanks for watching! 😁

0:48 what exactly does Ford mean by “bi-led headlights”?? Are they true led headlights? I wonder why Ford just doesn’t say the vehicle has LED lights? “Bi-led” sounds like they’re putting an asterisk next to the term “bi-led headlights”. Please explain this term to me. Short version please 😀

It's very nice but I'd prefer the Lincoln Nautilus because of the front grill. I was looking at one recently on the showroom floor of my local Ford dealer. The sticker was $56,500, so I'm thinking not too much more than the edge. My other preference would be the Chevy Premier Blazer which in my opinion looks more elegant than the edge. Really like the key fob, looks classy and durable. Overall, I think this a handsome suv, always thought so, even with the earlier visions. However, I can't help but feel that the appeal of this vehicle will be overshadowed with the introduction of a dial trans shifter. Wth is wrong with a traditional shifter?!!!
@PrimeAutotainment6 жыл бұрын
It feels like it is! I’m not sure what the deal is with that either lol. The bigger expedition even has it now. I prefer traditional shifters too but it seems like these types of things are the future..even the Ram truck has a disk shifter, Honda has buttons lol...craziness
@22Kevi6 жыл бұрын
Right?! Idk, I guess I'm just a traditionalist, with everything going digital, it just seems that the traditional shifter is the last thing on the vehicle you can get a true feel from in terms and maintain some sense of control.
