The popularity can largely be credited to its classic style and muscular powertrain, specifically the 6.2L Supercharged Hemi V8 engine that delivers over 700 horsepower. Despite being at the top of its game, it might surprise you to hear that 2023 is the final year of the Hemi-powered Challenger.

I have one and love it, I waited over 9 months from order to delivery, in the UK Ford dealers aren't allowed to charge over list so mine was £47,145 on the road ($61,800 approx), however we only get 452 BHP probably due to some draconian EU directive
@ChuiStrong
@ChuiStrong 3 жыл бұрын
Ford has to move the exhaust line when switching to right hand drive. Making it a bit more restrictive, this affected bhp numbers which is why north American or left hand drive variants have slightly higher numbers across the lineup

I love my 2016 GT. It's fast, super comfortable on long trips, and you can fit plenty of stuff in the trunk and back seat area for a trip for two to the beach. The gas milage for a V8 is pretty good too. If you like sports cars, it's hard to beat a mustang for everyday livability. Watch out for that depreciation though.

Why are you shocked at the price? Pretty normal and expected for this car. Although the Bullitts I've seen purchased are just over $50k. Even a fully loaded Mustang GT can go for $53k. I'm sure there are some incentives and rebates you can find, but MSRP is competitive. I got a brand new Challenger Scat Pack Shaker in 2016 and MSRP was $49,100. Cars are all getting too expensive nowadays. Even a fully loaded Coralla Hatchback can top out around $29k.

@@Kingsoupturbo I see where you are coming from. I have 2 friends that both got brand new GTs. They were both PP1 and the one stickered for $53k. But he wanted the 401a package (digital instrument panel, etc) and BnO stereo, and once you start adding in options, price goes up steeply, but you could find base model GT for high 30s. So I see if you just want a very base model, yeah Mustangs definitely are a bang for buck, but I rarely ever see barebone GTs. Options are nice, lol....from what I've seen, the Bullitt is a Mustang GT with PP1 and other options standard on it along with 20 HP more, and a comparably equipped GT is within $1k. I guess comes down to ones own preference.

I hear these new 5 liter motor develop a ticking problems. I think it is the no steel lined jugs begin to leak down compression causing the tick sound. Instead of steel cylinders, Ford does a Flame Spray type Chrome lining of the jugs similar to weed eater motors. Also.. The Cheap plastic intake manifold bothers me. Other wise I love this car. The only thing better is the original GT 390 FastBack!! O yes!! No cheap flame spray plastic intake on that 390!!
@TheVikingRL

Nothing wrong with the plastic intakes these days. They are better in almost every way then the old aluminum intakes. I do wish they had designed something a bit more aesthetic though.
@grabir01
@grabir01 5 жыл бұрын
@@TheVikingRL Long Term not good. Any plastic subject to benzene , heat soak, etc is not good long term. None of the race engines and racers use them. They all use CNC for a reason. The only reason Plastics are used is cost, Not because they are better. Period!
@TheVikingRL
@TheVikingRL 5 жыл бұрын
@@grabir01 The plastic/composite doesn't heat soak like aluminum, is lighter, and generally has smoother passages than most any aluminum intake. Aluminum is stronger so better in FI applications and can be ported more readily than a plastic intake. I also suspect it's easier for most aftermarket companies to develop/manufacture aluminum intakes which is why they are more common. I don't know how rapidly the plastic intakes break down due to heat/benzene/etc but suspect it is at least somewhat dependent on the quality of the composite used. I have nothing against good aluminum intakes and am waiting for a CNC piece as we speak. But I wouldn't be in any rush to rip one off of my Mustang "just because" either.

Crazy how Ford can build an efficient 25mpg V8 and 30mpg+ NA V6 but in the case of their Ecoboosts you really have to baby those things to get close to EPA. This almost 500hp coupe can achieve 25mpg or better just cruising down the highway and mid teens city. An F150 with 5.0 get identical numbers as the Ecoboost unloaded and better numbers loaded. As soon as you spool your turbos up your mpg drops with the Ecoboosts which is constantly if it’s loaded truck. My conclusion: For fuel economy and longevity get a Coyote as a daily. If you tow a lot at higher altitudes or pull through the mountains on a regular and don’t care about mpg then get an Ecoboost. They can pull better than most V8s but with worse mpg.

@@TrumpWon45-47 2019 Bullitt Mustang is 480 hp. 2019 Camaro SS is 455 hp. 2019 Mustang Bullitt weight is 3705 lbs, 2019 Camaro SS is 4113 lbs. So tell me again how the Camaro SS is faster if it has less horsepower and is over 300 pounds heavier? I know Chevy guys are rarely the sharpest tool in the shed but the math is pretty simple. Also, both of these cars are not "bad ass"; one of these cars is bad ass, the other one is a Chevy.

As a Camaro fan/owner, I would never buy a Mustang out of principle. But something isn't right, that car only getting a 12.9 on the quarter with 480 horses. Not that anyone buying this car will try for themselves. They'll get bought up just to be auctioned off in 20 years

They clearly state in the video that bad weather conditions (probably too cold to get decent traction with summer tires) prevented better times and that they previously got .5 sec faster times with a GT in better weather. I know that with my Mach 1 and summer tires, if the temps are in the 30's it is like driving in the rain - the tires just spin over 4000 rpms in 1st and 2nd.
