Those latches look just as exposed as on my Ford. Does the the flip down gap work OK for a fork-lift or does the gate still need to be removed? Is that hard or pretty-easy like on a Ford? Hitch compatible?

Ford comes out with tailgate step and aluminum Bodied trucks and aluminum bedded trucks prior to that. GM pics on Ford because they're using aluminum beds then GM does what copies Ford comes out with aluminum beds. Same thing with this took GM 10 years after the fact come out with a bed step. The step is a joke. A novelty it best. Way too many moving parts and I can already tell you they are already having issues with it. 4 did it right just a simple tailgate that doesn't cost a whole lot compared to a GM's charging for this tailgate and it has less moving Parts than GM's Ford has the Bed Extender it's much more versatile in holding longer items than what GM come up with. as usual when it comes to trucks GM is always playing catch-up with Ford.

It only took 10 years to copy Ford's. The load stop looks just about worthless , try to load 10 sheets of drywall overtop of that thing instead of just using a simple strap.
