I'm a bit biased since I own that exact guitar, but I believe the Knaggs is appropriately placed ;) Happy New Year, and if anyone is thinking about buying a guitar from Chris, I can say the experience is very smooth and I recommend it highly.

I think you did a great job and you put the kiesels higher than I expected. I will say I agree with you on the American professional strat. I didn't like the gloss fretboard and sold mine for a delos and was much happier with the sound.

I just couldn't get over the Delos value. Sure, the Andy Wood Suhr is "much better" but I personally liked the delos more. Just personal preference. But yeah...fenders just never stick for me.

My new Suhr modern bumps both of those top tier guitars down for me :) It's absolutely my dream guitar. That said, the R9 still sounds better. It's just the ergonomics and price that hold it back.

The only Suhr I've been able to play is the PT Sig Std... and I enjoy the range of tones it has. It does almost anything. The big bell like tones come from the 335. When I heard that it inched ahead of the Suhr. The ESP has a bit more edge and bite, a sharper sound suitable for 80s riffs. It's a tough call, Rickenbacker 12 is another one of a kind sound. I have a hard time ranking my 10, so I have nothing but respect for your subjective sort through 50. A bunch of sweeties for certain. Having access to MIDI through the Tripleplay pickup revolutionized my recordings. Softsynths are mostly perfect recordings, and they fit right into your music. Almost feels like cheating. But the Tripleplay at least let's the performance come through, nuance intact. Friedman though... Impressive showing. Where will I find one of those? (rhetorically spoken)

The Suhr PT is basically the same as my new one...and that's my new #1 by a wide margin. The R9 might sound better, and other guitars do other stuff better, but the versatility and comfort is what does it for me. Absolutely love that thing. I'd like to try a 335 (or at least maybe a PRS semi/hollow) soon. Not exactly sure where you could hypothetically try a Friedman. Around Texas they seem to be found at the premium shops, but you don't tend to see them at Guitar Centers and what not. I think some GC's do have them, but maybe it's only the fancy stores with a platinum room.

Fun Video! I don't own a lot of guitars nor have played a lot of different ones so hard to say if there are any mistakes. My personal best is my Keisel GH3 but keep in mind most of my life has been Fender Strats--- yet I agree I don't think Keisel deserves the S or A list because it doesn't tick all the boxes. Value - money wise perhaps but two things hold it back in my mind. The first are the pick ups. Now they get the job done and aren't terrible but dispite Kiesel making pickups even longer than Fender there are no "hits' like Texas Specials or thornbusters, ect. Secondly the current trend to be "Apple" just turns me off. When my PC breaks it's nice i can go out and buy a replacement part anywhere and it just works, or if I want to upgrade the same. it just works. You can't do that with Apples and you get the same crap with Kiesels. even screws are 'special' sizes. Carvins weren't like that but all modern Kiesels are and that also keeps them out of the A list in my book. They are made in the USA so that's a plus over Apple made in China crap...another pet peeve...and value to build is great -- but they need a Pick up hit and they need to get back to basics. Your placement of the strat is about right too. The rest never played but a shur is in my future. What a great year for the channel!

Thanks megostryder, and happy new year! Yeah I ranked the Aries and Delos so high because the value is really hard to argue with. Yeah, the Suhr Modern is probably objectively better than the Delos but it was 2.5x the price..used! Pretty crazy. I think I left the Luke III's a bit high too, I would have moved them down a bit if I had noticed while filming lol.

I was hoping you weren't going to do the Andy Wood guitar I bought from you dirty! Glad to see it up there. But I do agree; I just haven't gelled with it right after about a year. I think that's mostly because I am not a Tele guy. Never had one growing up. I would love to see what Suhr has to offer that I would be more accustomed to. If anyone wants to trade let me know! Still a great guitar with light use.

Ha! I mean the Andy Wood ended up low for what it is. It's better made and sounds better than everything in that category. But for me personally, the flat board and tele shape just never stuck. I'm sure you could resell it easily, right? I'd trade you something for it just to have it back but I don't really have anything to trade left!

@@TheGuitarPit: I agree the quality is absolutely stellar. It would be S class for someone that loves teles and can deal with a flatter radius and thinner neck. Niche crowd I suppose lol. It is a notch or two above the AZ I bought. It sounds better than every guitar I own. There will be aspects I miss about it that the next one I get won't have. The only issue is user error, unfortunately, lol. It's just not the right ergonomics for me.

I recently picked up a Suhr Modern Antique with thornbuckers and a middle pickup. Sounds very similar, but the ergonomics work for me a lot better. Eddie's Guitars has a run of them on Reverb right now.

@@TheGuitarPit: oh wow that sounds perfect! I offered to trade for a modern antique, govan spec and the guy was heavily considering. Ended up selling outright though. Cash is king. The antique appeals to me because I won't have to cringe every time I jam with the thing. I will check those out! Thanks man and great vid!

I'm pretty adverse to buying another non-custom shop gibson, to be honest. Not my favorite shape either, so it's a pretty tough sell if I gotta buy a custom shop SG for custom shop money...

@@TheGuitarPit Makes sense. So what would the Aristides have to have done better in order to have received a higher rating? They're not cheap, so I'm wondering what was wrong with that one.

@@richardpickman2826 Nothing, they're "perfect" guitars. They just sound very modern, and for my personal taste, I'd rather have a Friedman or something a little more classic. The neck was a touch thin too, but that's to be expected on an ultra-modern guitar.

Heck, everything B-tier and up is basically "perfect." Just personal preference really.
