It was so cool seeing Adam featured on your channel! I’ve been subscribed to you for probably years at this point and I don’t think I’ve ever seen him. @Rhian HY, could you pretty please explain about these pumps I’ve heard you mention before? We live in a area that floods often, and I would love to see how these work. We’ve had extensive landscaping done, but during hurricanes, we still get flooded in the house.😳

Heres a list of our pumps 😂(how adult)... -Sump pumps to keep the ground water from flooding our home, this came up after we'd built and it flooded once. (ask your plumber about sump pump options, that sounds rough!) -Well pump for our water supply. -We use pumps to jet around our dock to protect it from ice damage in the winter when needed too. Our winters/thaws etc really take a toll on homes.

I love the idea of solar panels but was disappointed when I realized that when the power goes out.. having solar doesn't do you any good... unless you want to spend thousands and thousands more for some kind of a battery (admittedly we don't loose power very often but still) It also annoyed me that that all the power we banked would be put back to zero in I think June or July which is really when we would want all our banked power for the ac.. We are still thinking about it.. but those two things really have made us think twice.. Its a very large investment

I think it's good to remember these are still relatively new technologies and ones that will hopefully allow us not to die a fiery death due to climate change. (maybe you know all of this, but for anyone reading who might not...) Unfortunately the inverters do need a steady reference voltage to work so you might need to weigh the cost of the battery keeping the solar working when your power goes out with how often your power goes out. For example, if you lived in a wild-fire area where theres lots of intentional blackouts, a battery would likely make a lot of sense. Otherwise you might choose to go without. The batteries do receive the same federal tax credit so it will save you a considerable chunk. Our net metering does not reset like yours does, so that must be dependent so if you have options of power-providers i would shop around to be sure thats the case with all of them. Granted, that will be a good production time most likely though so you should be covered then regardless of the reset AND your banked energy is still doing a LOT of good for the planet by providing that clean energy to the grid! Obviously a major driver for us was the cost-savings over the long term (our power is extremely expensive) but equally important to us was the overall positive environmental impact that helped us make the commitment.

This is our biggest issue holding us back. In CA our power gets shut off for bad weather (fire hazards due to power company not updating infrastructure in a decade...) this year we went without for at least 20 days since Aug.

I have also been unsure, and am not still 100% convinced, but I’ve been trying an array of approaches to my anemia along with iron infusions and feel like it helps? Maybe it doesn’t actually do anything, but the thought makes me happy and that counts for something hehe 😄🤣
