Here in Philippines, I prefer the Isuzu Dmax among the competitors. The design of the interior and exterior, performance of the engine, features, ride comfort is just right and enough for a pick up truck.

7:18 i saw what you did there joke aside... i noticed you purposely did not sit at the back seat. i did sit at the back when a friend test drove it. it is decent not really bumpy. however.... the back seat is sooooooooo smalllllll with almost no leg room. not a great buy. yes, it's 1.9 but not attractive enough since the OTR price is about 120k

150PS for a pickup truck? What year is it now? Even the new CR-V 1.5L engine produces 192hp. Mazda 2.5 Turbo also got 255hp in their new CX-5 and CX-9. Come on Isuzu

i assume that you dont really understand how pickup works? comparing with CRV is just nonsense as you are comparing diesel vs petrol, lets see how much load the CRV can handle vs Dmax. As for mazda's powerplant, again it is petrol so irrelevant. if you want to compare with the Mazda 2.2D, then most pickup's engines will look very weak indeed. but pickup engines are tuned conservatively to offer the most durability and fuel efficient, people buy them as workhorse, not to race others at the traffic lights. these turbo diesels can be remapped easily or even fitted with bigger turbos and produce monstrous figures, at the expense of usability and durability of course. you can't just start comparing turbo charged engines without having any idea of their purpose and even the fuel type lol.

Nobody I know uses their pick-up for carrying loads or heavy equipments. None of them even know what their trucks capabilities or even engage their 4x4 mode. They only buy it for straight line acceleration. As they wanted a car with 1:1 power to weight ratio hence the need of 200hp+ on a 2 tonne pick-up truck. This also means that this high-powered vehicles can accelerate 0-100kmh in just 10 seconds or less. Take the Navara for example. It has the lowest weight in it's class with 200hp on tap. Most of Navara buyers (in the city anyways) bought them just to race down the DUKE or KESAS highway, never been off roaded or carrying heavy cargos. And the price starts below 110k too for the 2.2D 197hp version. So, *IT IS* the cheapest car to go quickly and looks menacing at the same time (save for the Civic 1.5 Ketam and Mazda 3 2.0 NA) which is a sedan that nobody wants to buy nowdays (even Boyue X-70 has more sales than that cars)...

Isuzu purposely undertune their engine for reliability & fuel efficiency. 150PS & 350Nm is enough for daily use & carrying heavy stuffs.

hasifaiman it means you have not known enough or more people to understand their daily needs. There are people who emphasize on long term reliability and low running cost because it's just for business purpose (cost matters). Different car segment or type serves different needs and wants.
