We have this exact model for my wife. The Compass has 85000 miles. My wife uses it to commute to work. It has never been into the shop for repairs. Only to issues. 1st - The Automatic start / stop system , stopped working. But that isn't an issue. We didn't use it anyway. 2nd - The sway bar linkage rattles. That's an easy fix. She loves it , I feel it is underpowered. The average all around mpg we get is 25.5 .

I have this same model (trim) and that's the *only* thing I don't like about Jeep is that the premium lighting (led lights) is not standard on all the Jeep trims. I looked to get the led headlights on the Altitude, but I couldn't find any in my area, even had my sales guy look into finding this trim with the premium lighting, and he couldn't find any but I do have all the other options I wanted, just not the lights. I will definitely be looking at the aftermarket options to replace the standard halogen headlights, DRL's , and fog lights. It's just frustrating because most manufacturers come standard on all their models with led's or HID's these days. *Not Jeep*

@@IWeasel I never said the compass was a "luxury vehicle" lol. All I'm saying is that in 2019 led/hid lights come standard on just about all manufacturers new models. And hid lights do come equipped on some compass trims. My 2019 compass 4X4 Altitude msrp was 31k with all my options - not luxury, but not cheap by any means.

I have a 2018 Jeep Compass. As soon as I can I will be getting rid of this, it has stalled on me 3X. I brought it into the dealership and they find nothing wrong with it. Under warranty and got the extended warranty. If they cannot fix the problem...I will NOT keep a vehicle that could be a death trap. I will be looking at a Toyota vehicle. Possibly a Rav 4.

FCA would do well to offer their newer 2.0 turbo engine with 270hp that's offered in the Cherokee as an option. That 184hp engine is horribly anemic, especially in this vehicle. I test drove one of these after leasing a Cherokee limited with the V6 (271hp) and it really felt like a dog. The engine was noisy and I'd be very concerned about merging on to a 70-75mph freeway with that engine. Overall it felt like about 75% of a Cherokee. Too bad the MSRP doesn't reflect that difference.

All this bitching about headlights, some people like halogen and some like HID and LED, they have both to choose from, I chose the upgrade premium lights and they are awesome and I'm not bitching. This compass literally has the same options as my 50.000 grand Cherokee great bargain actually.

Ok I bought the 2019 Just this past Saturday. Things to know up front: the look is wonderful but be aware look at other KZbin videos about the car not starting the things you have to do to get it to start because it will malfunction and the dealership and the manufacturer has not correct at this problem the other thing to consider about the Jeep Compass is the fact that already my check engine light is on and two other lights are on and while I was driving it I came to a stop and the whole car cut off completely not that pausing thing that the push button car is due but I mean cut off cut off I was able to restart it but now my dashboard says check engine in words and the symbol the other sensor that is showing up on the dash or the indicator lights is something to do with the steering and the other one has two straight lines on the side and a lightning bolt in the middle I looked it up in my book and these are issues that should not be happening to a brand new car also check on the internet and see what the recalls are for 2019 Jeep Compass you'd be amazed at how many things are wrong with this vehicle that they keep repeating when they duplicate the car and haven't been able to figure out why the car does what it does yes it looks great feels great to drive I have leather interior a moonroof it's wonderful the sound system sounds pretty good but I'm telling you check on this car a little bit more people that had Jeep back-in-the-day say that the same issues I'm having now are the issues they had back then with 2006 models there is a website that you can look up any vehicle on to see what you're up against for a new purchase or if it's a used purchased and it is called CARCOMPLAINTS.COM This website will let you put in any make model and year and we'll tell you what is going on with the cars this is a lovely Jeep but it will be my last one if I get locked into not being able to get them to do anything about the car when I check the other websites on KZbin about the same issues I'm having everyone says that they've put their car in the shop at least three to five times I promise you I'm not exaggerating this and these other car owners are saying that there is nothing that the dealership or the manufacturers can do about the problems that this car has and it's not the only jeep that has that problem but I read a majority of the car issues pertaining to mines which is the compass 2019 people with the 2017 the 2016 and 20 15 I think have had the same issues people have went to go get in their cars and can't get it to start it happened to me 4 days after purchasing the car and you're supposed to just be able to put your foot on the brake pedal and push the button to start it that didn't work for me it took me an additional 6 to 10 minutes to get my car to start I panicked so badly because I had to be at work I called the dealership once I call them the car started but the dash will read that the car is running when in fact it is not the only thing that is running is your headlights so you have to be careful about your choice with this car look it up do your research because if I'm locked into this car it's just going to be something I'll have to deal with but the sensor on the car has already gone bad most people are having trouble at 800 miles and more and that's crazy because it's a 2019 I shouldn't be having issues you shouldn't have to take someone with you to buy a car people should be honest about selling the car but in this case it doesn't seem like it's a dealership issue it is a manufacturers issue. To humor myself a little I found out the car is made in Mexico according to one of my best friends she found that out and all I could think to myself is that sit Trump has pissed everybody off and now they're screwing with our vehicles but the funny thing is LOL LOL this was happening before he got into office but either way it goes I don't understand I have a brand new Jeep I shouldn't be having problems especially being a female that lives alone I should be able to go buy a car by myself and people should be honest and it shouldn't be malfunctioning this soon in the game so everybody that wants this Jeep better be aware. I'm usually a Chevy girl but if I had to choose again I literally would go for the metal body Jeep before I do one of these kind again😶😶😶😏😏😏

I always say watch a ton of videos before you go to a dealership. When I have, I realize these sales guys don't even know much about their own vehicles. They should be studying up on them when they are sitting around waiting for customers to come in. They don't. I told one guy that I watched a youtube video and learned a lot, he said, 'I don't watch that crap'. Crap? These are professional reviewers. Reading the comments have really helped me in choosing a vehicle too, but also confuses me because when I read about an issue, i do wonder how many others are going through it too, you know? CarComplaints site only shows you what someone took the time to report to them. Why don't people go and add their comments? Then it would help others. Too many car owners are clueless, they buy and take in for service, that's it. Guess that's the advantage for car companies, they know people are too busy in their lives to make a big deal out of their repairs.

Try Buick, it's attracting a younger crowd all the time, sister bought an Encore and loves it. 4 year warranty, not 3 like most GMs. Rav4 is way too expensive! For what I wanted, they wanted nearly $40K. Heck no.

LED/HID comes standard on pretty much everything else. People are knocking Jeep for still putting halogen bulbs in some vehicles. Not a dealbreaker for me.
