I own a 2018 Jeep Compass Trailhawk and the off road capabilities it has is unreal. Definitely in a class of its own. If you've ever owned a Jeep, there's nothing else like it.

If you equip every single option on a compass trailhawk it still doesn't exceed 35 grand

Thanks for the review Ben, competent and to the point. I like the styling a lot. My wife has a Jeep Cherokee, it's been super reliable. Jeep could up its game by quieting the interior and offering the turbo engine in the Compass.

I've had my 2017 compass trailhawk for 2 years now. In general, I have a love/hate relationship with it, but... Cons 1) Not that many storage compartments and the cargo space is tiny, my mom's Mazda CX-5 has a way bigger cargo space 2) Engine feels lethargic 3) It's light, so any bit of wind will blow it around, especially on the highway, but that happens with almost any SUV on the small side 4) Compared to the 2014 new body style impala I had, the interior just feels cheap and lacking in some aspects (Both vehicles have a luxury group) 5) Max towing is only 1000lbs Pros 1) I get just over 25 MPG, and I don't do very much highway driving 2) Rides smooth, other than the wind thing, handles really well, especially in the snow and mud 3) Looks sharp, and the cabin space is pretty roomy 4) Reliable so far. I haven't had to repair anything, just regular oil changes (Update (7/2020): Did have to have a repair done since the screen was freezing every so often) 5) Heated steering wheel, and also mine came with Beats speakers, which sound amazing

I rented an Impala V6 for about ten days and I thought that car was damn fantastic. Fast, comfortable, plenty of cabin space, giant trunk, and decent sound system.
@Natethegreat200c4 жыл бұрын
ashlaysaywhat did you say the interior feels cheap compared to an impala ? What trim level do you have on the compass ??
@Natethegreat200c4 жыл бұрын
For starters the screen and gauges looks 30 times better than the impala and everything is soft touch just like the impala.
@kaymarieh32814 жыл бұрын
The seats do not feel cheap. Idk maybe yours does but the interior in the one my bf rented felt pretty great. No complaints at all and it was a 2020.

Just buy one of the thousands of slightly used ones flooding the market due to all the rental car companies downsizing. A slightly used one is definitely the best way to buy one. You can easily pick up a Trailhawk for around 20K with the factory warranty still intact and some leftover new car smell on hot days :)

Mia Gates how is it? I’m thinking about getting one
@miagates79384 жыл бұрын
Salena Chan I love it so much! I live In salt lake so it’s perfect for city driving and going up the canyon to go skiing. I wouldn’t take it like super off roading like boulders and sufficient climbing ,but she does great on off road trails with moderate dirt and large rocks. Has better gas mileage than my old Subaru- my biggest complaint being the smaller gas tank compared to my Outback. The transmission is a little slower but I am use to handling and driving it now so I usually don’t have a problem with it (that’s for people who try gunning it all the time, which I don’t lol) I would definitely recommend buying one that slightly used like I did, there are a lot of brand new ones/slightly used on the market for almost half the price.
@salenachan88954 жыл бұрын
Mia Gates did you pay in full or doing monthly payments? How is the pricing on maintenance? I want to trade in my Mercedes because maintenance is way too much now that I have a new born and definitely need more space.
@miagates79384 жыл бұрын
Salena Chan I sold my Outback for about 9,000 and put that down on the Jeep. The monthly payments are really easy now since I’m only paying off a little over 10,000 over a 5 year period. So it’s like $200 about a month. Although I am planning on just putting another large payment on it sooner to avoid interest. It’s really new so I haven’t had any maintenance issues. The older Jeep models tend to have issues so that’s why I went with a newer model. The compass is a decent size if you have one or two kids, probably no more than that. I do have a girlfriend who has had a new compass for a few years and loves it
@miagates79384 жыл бұрын
Salena Chan I have parents in the auto industry and my mom use to own a Mercedes. The parts on Mercedes are harder to get a hold of and more costly (like Audi’s, Volkswagens, etc) even if you have a problem way long term with a Jeep the parts are much more available and less costly due to the popularity of jeeps

Me, too. It’s a 2019. Yesterday I discovered a noise with mine. Sounds like it’s coming from the driver side door. That sound you get when the body of the vehicle is twisting, rubbing against the door. Maybe the weather gasket needs some lube, but I don’t see that’s something that should be done on a 2019.

No way is this worth 40 grand. I like the new Jeep Compass a lot but it is way overpriced like most cars today. It is made in Mexico and cost under 10,000.00 to produce so why is it marked up over 4 times? I was going to buy one but even the cheapest Sport model with a few options is over 25 grand. So I will keep my 2012 Chrysler 200 forever and run it into the ground before I pay that much for any vehicle!
