@Robin Stiff that's hard to determine simply because they are for very different purposes or riding styles. I think the new Rebel 500 styling is unattractive in my opinion. The seating and ergonomics are also very different. The Rebel probably makes more torque but the Z400 has a more broad power curve. Anyway, it's really down to your riding style and styling preference.

Hello from Serbia, great videos, looking forward to your DR 250 video, you could stop somewhere in your ride and just talk a little of your bike, your thoughts and impresions ( if you still have something to talk about it since you will probably chat about it when riding hehe ), cheers, best regards :)

I just bought this bike brand new. 2019 Z400(red). Practicing on the bike to learn braking/ turning ETC.. and the bike is overheating nonstop. Oil light and red warning light came on and has been on . I pull it out of my garage and turn it on, 2 minutes later.. the lights come on! The oil level and coolant is good. So I’m not sure what to do. My first bike might be a lemon. Might call the dealership. Any suggestions???? New rider needs input?!?!?

@ws6man965 жыл бұрын
It depends on your experience, preferences and budget. I loved the Z400. Even if I bought it as my first bike I'd want to keep it and use it as a fun second bike. However, if you want something bigger I'd recommend the Z650. It's very manageable and beginner friendly but offers more to keep you on your toes.

As of right now I’m on an SSR Razkull 125. Bought it as my first bike on 4/19/18. So I’ve been riding for about a year. I’m thinking of getting this bike spring of 2020. Would you recommend this bike as a stepping stone? I do not have the budget for the z650. I am just trying to explore the market as of right now.
@ws6man965 жыл бұрын
The Razkull is such a sweet bike! How do you like it!? The Z400 would be a great step up. The great thing about it is that the power is totally usable for advanced riders and accessible for new riders.
@xXGizmoXisXcoolXx5 жыл бұрын
ws6man96 The Razkull was a cheaper option to the grom and z125 and I love it! I live in a small town so in order to get anywhere I need to get on the highway. I’ve had it up to 72 mph before but it is so windy in Oklahoma that I usually can only get it up into the 50 mph range. It’s a very fun bike, great to get started, and upgrades are cheap!
@xXGizmoXisXcoolXx5 жыл бұрын
I’m just wanting to use it on the freeway without worrying about the wind gusts or inclines. Think the z400 will be suitable for freeway environments?

Hi there, loved the video! Maybe you could help(really hope so), I'm riding a scooter for about 13 years. Feeling really comfortable on the road(especially in Thailand, crazy drivers), and finally about to buy my first bike now! Was planning to buy the z400, went for a test drive, and it was so fun! Stupidly I tested the z650 too, and was even more fun(powerful of course). Now have to say, both were about 10min ride, can't really understand from it (although surprisingly felt comfortable with both). After this long intro (sorry), do you think the z400 will be enough, and better learning curve? Or I'll get bored fast? Kinda like speed(at least in the city, still a scooter). And planning to go for out-of-town rides (6ft ,180lb).
@ws6man965 жыл бұрын
The z400 is a great bike and if I had it I'd never get "bored". It will give better fuel mileage and be slightly cheaper to maintain than the z650. The z650 is significantly more expensive but also more powerful. If you have the extra cash and with your experience I'd go straight for the z650 even though you cant go wrong with the z400 either. Hope this helps!

@ws6man964 жыл бұрын
I've never rode the new cb300r but it's a great option. It's down on power and overall performance over the Z400 but in my opinion looks great and in some ways more mature. You couldnt go wrong with either bike so it comes down to preference.
@stephen56655 жыл бұрын
I would buy this over the ninja 400, if I was looking for a small bike. But, this looks very flickable and fun to ride.
@ws6man965 жыл бұрын
I agree!! Its very easy to ride. I would have loved to ride it at a faster pace and through more curves but I could easily tell it could keep up with bikes much bigger.

What sort of MPG could a guy expect on the interstate 75mph? Thinking about buying for 65 mile a day commute on i10
@ws6man965 жыл бұрын
I would say it would be atleast in the 50 mpg range. I wouldn't recommend this bike for that type of riding however. If you're set on the bike I'd highly recommend wind protection. You will be buffeted greatly by the wind at 75mph. The bike is light as well. The ninja 400 or versys 650 would be a more practical option for your commute.
@deelarry21375 жыл бұрын
ws6man96 I appreciate the advice. I will certainly get a wind screen. I’m 5-7 160 lbs so that’s why I’m looking at a smaller bike. And I just don’t want a huge bike. I typically drive 70, not 75. Just want the performance option to drive faster if needed 😎. Think this is reasonable? Feel free to be honest. The interstate I drive in in west Texas. Lonely road with little traffic.

Your height wouldnt be a problem for either bike. The Z650 is also a great bike to begin on. It will keep you entertained longer and really isnt something you grow out of. The Z400 is good if you want something simple, inexpensive and to be a good stepping stone.

@@deathtroopers4345 if you're already on a Z125 I'd go for the Z650. The GSX750S is a little bit bigger of a bike with more power. If you like like it and dont mind Suzuki it could be a better option.
@deathtroopers43455 жыл бұрын
ws6man96 I love Suzuki,I thought of that GSX too and I’ve seen the SV650 but the engine is too unveiled (hose and oil filter) I would hate to hit a pothole or something hitting it and not enough HP. But yeah I’ll settle for a 650 or the 750.

What's the top speed? Ok to drive on highway/interstate?
@ws6man965 жыл бұрын
It has more than enough power for highway/ interstate. The Ninja 400 might be a better option since it has more wind protection if that is the road type you frequent most. I'd say it would do 120mph.
