Nice review & video. Enjoyed the scenery and roads. It highlights one thing these bikes do well that isn't advertised, they go slow very well. Cruising in town, or in a traffic jam, it works well and the soft clutch pull is a dream. The same cannot be said of many bikes out there. I have ~1500 miles on my '22 Black & Silver Cafe', and just did a 2 hour ride (in the seat the whole time) without too much complaining from the seat of my pants. Here in Texas, much of the riding involves some 70mph+ Interstate action, and the Cafe' fairing does a great job of making that very comfortable too. Up to about 80mph, the ride is very relaxed. Speeds over 100mph are very doable for long periods of time. On my last 80 mile ride, I netted an average of 53mpg, which is also very impressive.

I have a 2020 RS Cafe and I really like it. I put 20mm bar risers on it and it made it more comfortable for me personally. Other than that, it's stock with the exception of some frame sliders and foam hand grip covers. And I'm leaving it that way. I see no reason to change anything else. There's nothing like an inline 4-cylinder.

Definitely the best most through review on the Z900RS Cafe! Love the retro appeal of this bike! I'm looking currently considering the Z900RS Cafe, Yamaha RSX900, Triumph Thruxton RS or Speed Triple R, and the KTM Duke 890R. Looking for something nimble to flick through the canyons of Colorado. Thoughts?
@EddieSetGo3 жыл бұрын
Hmm out of that list Casper... the flickable canyon bike would maybe be the KTM 890. Super light. Agile. However... the Cafe looks amazing and has a nice grounded weight to it. I couldn't get over just how easy it felt to ride and the engine sound... that'll create some echos riding through the canyons for sure. I'd wait to see about the XSR900 as they will update that soon!

Would u say its as fun to ride as the z1000? The 19 colours look the best, not sure what changes they did for the cafe in 2020.
@EddieSetGo4 жыл бұрын
I'd say it's 'easier' to ride Matt, so yes, more fun. The Z1000 is quite a focused bike and I get achey wrists on it after a while. The Z900RS... standard or Cafe... are both so easy to ride, enjoy and go fast on. Plus they sound so much better than the Z1000 in my opinion! The bike for 2020 is pretty much exactly the same, just new colours. Whether Kawasaki do a Euro5 update for it, which usually comes with a few visual updates, we'll have to wait and see.
@matthewjackson30344 жыл бұрын
@@EddieSetGo I have the Z1000SX tourer model. So thats what I would be looking to swap in. I love the 19 colours in the Cafe, however if I had to settle I'd take the Green.

2021 model year is Grey in 'Merca. I will order it in Feb for Spring delivery. My 2nd inline 4. First one was a Honda in the early/mid eighties. Why does pops insist on flirting with the center white line? He should not be that trusting of peeps coming at him. Peeps suck.
@EddieSetGo3 жыл бұрын
Great to hear you're getting an RS Cafe, Stanley! Yeah my Dad, and even I when I'm on my own, like to ride closer to the middle of both lanes. I find oncoming traffic can see me better and that part of the road has less debris as car tyres roll over it. If a big rig, or, a bend is approaching, I'll move over to better position. Do you ride center?

Can you say how the wind protection is, compared to maybe a regular naked and a (sports) tourer?
@EddieSetGo4 жыл бұрын
Hey Nolan, it was a very stable ride with a moderate amount of wind buffeting. You feel the wind on your thighs most, like with a naked, but your upper body is surprisingly protected from the fairing. I felt more protected on this, than on my Yamaha Tracer. I hope this helps!
@Justen19804 жыл бұрын
I'm 6ft~ tall. Sitting normally wind force to the head is minimal up 70-80mph. At that speed I duck my head and shoulders a bit- half tucked position. I wear a full facehelmet.

Please leave the false moniker of "bad ass" to HD pirate wannabe's. Nothing about them is BAD ASS! I say let them be false. BAD ASS is Chuck Norris or Jet Lee and similar. The H2supercharged could be considered the mechanical equivalent of a bad ass human however. Better words than BAD ASS are reserved for the Z900RS. Like lessons learned from 40 years of improvement etc ad-astra!!! There is nothing about the Zed9 that is false!!! good review thanks!
