I totally agree. Have driven from Sydney to Melbourne twice in the last month and loved it. Comfortable, great for overtaking and amazing fuel economy. Easily one of the best cars I have owned and I have had some great cars in the past.

Me too! It’s not a hot hatch as such, but it’s not far off it. Firm ride with a bucket load of features. A lot of fun to drive and be in. 👍

how is the dct transmission in slow moving traffic? not sure if it's worth paying extra for dct given reliability and driving it in stop stop traffic

Fantastic review. Picked up my GT sedan today in Pearl white and Its sensational to drive. Capable on the road yet really good fun to drive when you want. Not many cars at this price will beat this from Kia. Still yet to notice the rough ride alot of experts are going on about. Smoother than my previous i30 sr which was a great car. I think they forget this is $32k drive away!

I got a Pearl White one. Never thought I would ever have a white car but I think it looks sensational. The paintwork is as good as the Merc I had. Agree about the rough ride. I don't notice it regardless of what mode it is in

You’re too late boys. I’ve already bought a white one and I love it. So much bang for your buck I couldn’t pass it by. Very impressed with everything about it. A firmish ride and an excellent motor. I fitted an after market sunroof and a gloss black roof wrap. Goes like a cut cat when needed but in highway driving with the active cruise control on I can well under 6L/100km. Amazing!

Coming out from a rest area on the Hume and getting back into traffic, I had it in sports mode and gave it a blast. It got to 140 before I knew it. Sensational pick up. Dropped back to speed limit very quickly once I realised what speed it was doing. Did you get the flat white or Pearl White? The Peral is sensational with the red and black trimmings.

Great review gentleman. Took delivery of a Sunset Orange GT Sedan two weeks ago and am having a blast in this thing. Kia dealers now saying wait times for a GT are now out beyond 5 months. Ouch.

Further to my earlier comment, now that I have owned the car for just over 4 weeks I can say that I am very pleased with the car which is exactly as described in your video. Thank you. The one point that I would make is that if there is any improvement that Kia can make then it is with regard to the Owner's handbook. The car is great and excellent value for money.

@@surajmon123 Dear Suraj, My apologies for not having replied earlier as I didn't see your comment until now. You have probably already purchased the car but just in case you haven't, let me respond to your 2 queries. It is my wife's car but I do drive it periodically and we did do a long drive a few months ago (approx 1200kms) most of which I drove. The car performed remarkably well and exactly in line with the review by "Two Dads". The fuel consumption was better than the handbook stated. Regarding the suspension, yes it is a little on the firm side compared with my wife's previous car a Honda Civic, but it was in my opinion a very comfortable drive. It is after all a GT and the sporty performance does probably warrant a slightly firmer suspension!!

Love this car, and was so happy when i picked it up and for the money its outstanding. I have the sedan and the styling is so good, it just looks so goos. It may not be a hot sports, but definitely comes close due to the low end torque. I personally like the sound and it adds a little extra to the feel of the car, my son loves it to and always wants to go in this car over the wifes cerato sports plus. Alot of reviews have criticised the noise and i do get it. But everyone says you can't turn it of, which is true and false at the same time. You can go on to youtube and with a few small tools easily unlug this sound without have to go deep into the engine, i thought i would just mention it. A grear review tho both, and look forward to your next one.

Hi guys, great review. We have the black hatch GT and love it to bits.. Amazing machine for the money. The ride is firm but you get use to it and makes every drive feel like you are in a racing go cart!! lol love it. Although the sound is there in sport mode, the smart mode actually learns the way of your foot!!! Becomes smoother in smart mode after a while without the sound generation of sport on all the time. I assume it changes the shift rpms etc in the gearbox. I looked at both N line and the cerato before buying and just loved the different looking hatch which also has a little stinger look about it. i30/golf look has been around a long time and its time for some new looking refined hatches to move forward such as this. I also like the sedan however the larger opening into the hatch was a must... The worst bit is waiting for one to be delivered.. apparently it is months at the moment!!.. Nice review and keep up the great work.

The Cerato / Forte GT is indeed something to look into within its segment. Personally, for me, it is more exciting compared to a Honda Civic with a CVT.

Great review guys! I got my Platinum Graphite GT hatch in early feb and I bloody I love it. Never fails to put a smile on my face! It loves punishment around the twisty bits, but will happily eat up the k’s on the highway too. Only feature I feel it is missing is auto wipers...but I guess I’m getting spoilt and lazy...and nitpicking. Hahaha. Once U adjust the equaliser on the stereo, the sound those JBL’s pump out is phenomenal.

Getting mine in a couple of days.. traded my much loved 2017 Turbo Veloster which seems a troubled brand sadly. Loved the Veloster road hold, unique style and drive but looking for a trouble free run now hopefully with the GT. Great review.

Interesting that you think the ride is softer than the i30 N Line. Kia actually designed this car to be firmer and all other review sites mention the ride quality on the i30 being better. Take a look at CarAdvice. Personally, I own an I30 N line Manual and the ride is very compliant. More so than the 208 gti, Clio RS 200 EDC and Mini Cooper S I had before it.

G'day Blake - Thanks for your comments and congrats on your new N line manual! Both cars are really good value in terms of being "Fun and Family Friendly" but we found even though both came with identical wheel and tyre combos (225/40R18 Michelin Pilot Sport 4), the N line was probably the better (read: sharper) handler of the two, but the KIA's ride quality was noticeably better. Hmmmm...I'm starting to think from your comments that perhaps that particular i30 N line press car we were given from Hyundai may have had over inflated tyres or perhaps something was wrong with the DCT as it didn't shift as well as the KIA too? Anyway we tell it how we see it! Thanks for watching mate!

Hi fellas, and Blake. I got my hands on what I was told was the first privately-registered GT in Oz (delivered to me whilst the Oz Tennis Open was still on). It's a hatch, and I've driven over 6000 km. Great review, probably the best I've seen, adding to what others have written. Regarding the ride quality, I have found it very comfortable, and so has my partner. My last car was a 2016 Hyundai i30, and my partner and I both think the GT is as - if not softer - than the i30. Comfortable, not wallowing. Great feedback from the road and steering, yet great ride quality. Not sure what all the other reviewers are smoking, to be honest. I gave the car a blast through the Black Spur in Victoria, and can confirm the car is great fun. The sport mode is really the thing in twisties, but around town it's ECO for me. I'm averaging 7.6 LI/100km over 6K and 12 weeks, 50/50 urban/highway.. Impressive value for money.

We have the Red 2019 Cerato GT Hatch. We previously had the Cerato Koupe - Lime Green for 9 yrs - a car which I really love, never put a foot wrong! Getting old..... the GT pre-set seats were the way to go even though as a 5'2" woman - I JUST fit...... (Some demonstrator GT cars I couldn't sit in and see over the engine...... the Stinger seats are the best for people my size, wasted on large men! And I have threatened to see if I can get a Stinger seat fitted....... along with a Lime Green body wrap). HOWEVER - I am yet to find how to set the Smart Cruise Control. I get an error message each time I try - "SCC (Smart Cruise Ctrl conditions not met". The Manual is about as useful as teats on a bull.....

Agree about the manual. So much useless information. It was written for other markets which have additional accessories so not applicable to the one we have here in Oz. The SCC does work and it works quite well. You might be pressing the button twice. The second time you press it, it puts it into speed limiting mode. Press the cruise control button once, drive up to the cruising speed then use set on the cruise control switch. Hope that is clear enough.
