Seems to drive smoother than any of the mainstream compact SUVs since all are lacking the V6 the Sorento has and most have CVT's now. The question is, is it worth the extra money vs a CR-V, Rav4, or Forester. Those will get better gas mileage and cost less but won't be as smooth driving and not as quiet. I like all the easy to use controls and radio controls with volume and tuning knobs. The cup holders, wireless charging are nice and well placed. Looks like an easy car to live with. $50,000 is too much for this. Would need a lower trim level or a two year old gently used Sorento still under the nice 5 year warranty.

If only they offered the V6 in AWD down in Australia 😏😏 We're stuck with two good engines 2.2L CRDi Diesel (AWD standard) 3.3L GDi V6 (FWD only) But the Diesel is a suprisingly strong performer.

I wonder why they chose to go with the 3.8 (291HP/262LB-FT) in the brand new Palisade and Telluride when the 3.3 in this Sorento makes a similar 290HP/252LB-FT. I guess the larger displacement makes for a less strained engine? Although the 3.8 could easily make 330+ horse if tuned properly, the new large CUV"s should have been rated for around 315HP instead of 291..

I am sorry in advance for saying this if this bothers me but this happens to me all the time because people are stupid these days for not using their turn signals. To me, that is unacceptable. So did that guy or girl that passed over you at 4:52 use a turn signal or not? If he or she didn’t and I were a cop, I would pull him or her over for speeding, failure to use a signal when required and obstructing traffic. He or she would get their license revoked!

To my ear, it has a smooth and refined growl. This is a Kia that competes with other mainstream brand's offerings... It isn't a premium car like a Buick or Acura. Even then, complete engine noise isolation from the cabin is just weird.

I am driving this exact same SUV and I can tell you his mic pics up everything and the sounds end being a bit exaggerated, especially if you have really good headphones like I do. It’s actually a very serene driving machine.

Well it is a mid size SUV with a V6 engine. While I do appreciate KIA for their improvement and good reliability it would be a hard decision to pick this over some of competitors who already have standard V6 such as Grand Cherokee. For 46k, Jeep probably offers well equipped V8 with advanced AWD and air suspension.

The Driver FCA (aside from the wrangler obviously) reliability suck! The only soft SUV I might compare to the Sorento is the CX-9. What do you think?

Well it's true that FCA overall is very bottom in reliability but some of their products are not that bad, I know that Durango was above average according to some study few years back. GC isn't that bad, especially compared to smaller Jeeps which had huge issues, such as Renegade, Compass and Cherokee. As for Mazda CX9, I like it a lot. My wife drives CX5, excellent small SUV. Only advantage of Sorento is V6, at least imo.

@@thedriver5462 I like Mazdas, I think they are a nice reliable cars, I never owned one though. I had 08 Sorento and that was a beast on terms of reliability I just sold it 2 years ago to get a new car! Now we are getting a new SUV as a second car and we just bought a 19 Sorento!
