Clipping it to the left side and then closing it as a door on the right side helped.

is there a trick to getting that second cover to open. you said lift from the bottom, but I'm not able to get it loose easily, and didn't want to break it.

It can be difficult the first time. Also try lifting up and to your left.

Thanks for pulling the element out of the tray and for not showing us what it said on one edge of the filter. Did it have an arrow pointing up or did it have an air flow arrow pointing down? We'll never know.

@@omgitsme435 I'm sure you figured it out by now but airflow arrow should be pointed downward. Easy way to figure this out without arrows is see which side the debris like leaves, pollen are in the old filter. In the ES it is on the top of the filter meaning the air is directionally going down.
