I like how Lexus had to come up with an explosive hood system to be compliant with pedestrian crash safety but trucks can get away with having a 5 foot tall wall for a front end.

The ND MX5 has hood explosives. Mine went off when I hit a Kangaroo at 10kmph on a dirt road. It cost me $5000 worth of damage when it should have been a $100 repair.

My 2016 BMW 5 Series also have them. Fun fact: they have a expiration date and you have to regulary change them, otherwise your car doesn't passes the general inspections / "road safety checks"

That's what I've been saying for a couple of years now - "realistic dream car". Hopefully soon I will be able to have one. It seems people don't drive them much, so many, even all the way back to 2018 model year, have relatively low mileage. I have finally started seeing a few around the country with a price starting with a "5" for the first time ever. The one in this video is currently bid up to $61,000 as I write this.

Great review Ken! I've owned my LC500 for over 5 years now and I'm still enamored with it. Love Lexus' attention to detail, such as the bolts/screws on the inside of the doors (marked Lexus on them), the green light on the shoulder line of the door when they're locked, the mirror tail lights, the mini L's in the headlight housing, and I can go on! You perfectly described the LC500's positioning in the market - a GT car that doesn't strive for numbers but instead for the experience.I've done some tasteful modifications on mine - just to make it my own, but I wouldn't have any other car. What truly made me appreciate the LC, was when I started reviewing cars about 2 years ago, and had the opportunity of testing vehicles twice the price, and the LC DEFINITELY punches above its weight (in terms of quality, fit and finish and experience in general). Well done Kennan!! one of my favourite cars out there. The interior is phenomenal, the engine to die for and the ride quality and design. uff. A buddy of mine has it in that very color and he has a Panamera too and the fact that he didn't get a 911 is that he tells me, meh, everyone has seen a 911 and is a more usual car to come across but an LC with the V8 sounding like a symphonic orchestra... Great video and one that hits close to home as I have the LC500s sibling, the RCF. It’s great to finally hear it described for what it is, a GT. I can see why the price point is higher than the RC, given all the attention to the suspension, transmission and interior, which are superior to the RCF. The engine / exhaust notes are also much better, which is a common complaint with RCF owners. Some minor exhaust changes, plus a tune and mine is sounding and responding much better. I’m very happy with it, but I know a LC will be in my future. Thanks Ken, this was a great one!

I must be the only guy who ever traded his 2021 Mustang GT500 for a 2024 LC500 convertible! I was waiting for Lexus to update the infotainment and as soon as they did, I jumped on it. I had Porsche, Maserati, jaguar, amgs and you know what…it is the best car I ever owned. The only thing I wish they’ve done as a last hurrah is bore out the 5.0 to say 5.5 and increase horsepower to 550. Other than that the feeling of quality, the materials, the adjustments, the sound, the comfort…everything is absolutely perfect. And what a looker…great review again Kennan!

the LC series and where it sits in lexus lineup is very similar to when the sc300 and supra were available in the 90s. yes the SC had the same 2jz engine as the supra, but it was much more a luxury GT car then a sports car. same here again with the rcf and lc500

Pretty sure they don't make a performance packaged car wifh a sun/moonroof. So this car doesn't even have the rear steer. He should try out a real performance pack i hear they handle much better.
