Awesome video! Thank you! I’m a disabled retiree who can no longer get to my favorite trout streams. Watching videos like yours is as close as I can get. I really enjoyed watching you fish. I have a tab on your site to place an order. I still tie flies for fun. Your flies and products look great! Thanks again! Keep up the good work! John

Love fly fishing for trout! I wish the trout could live in the streams by me year round though. Sadly in summer the water gets too warm and the levels can get too low and they die off. It sucks but i'm glad to have the opportunity to fish for trout in spring and the fall!

Thanks for sharing Ben, glad to see you got away from the shipping desk for awhile. Another great video with very instructive information for this we all thank you. They may be stocked fish, but they are trout and I never get sick of catching trout. Thanks Len and it is great to get out for sure. I agree with you and love catching any trout that is willing to take a fly. Another great video, Benny. And I appreciate the educational aspect of it. One question: as you know, the comp guys all use dropper tags. Could you talk a little bit about why you prefer rigging your nymphs inline as opposed to using tags?
@living4theoutdoors5 жыл бұрын
Hey Alex, Thanks so much and I do like dropper tags as well, but I prefer them when I am nymphing water that has fish also tuned into top water activities. Until they start coming up I stick to tying off the eye or the bend in the hook. I like putting tags on to imitate emergers. Also this is how I learned and I have had a lot of fun fishing like this. Sometimes those dropper tags can make a mess, but they are very effective at times as well. I guess everyone has what they like and I like them both. Hopefully this Spring I can do a video using a three fly system with tags off of my line and show how much fun it can be catching them off of tags. I hope this explains my crazy mind a little and I hope you are enjoying some time out as well.

I don't use the pinchable split shot for Stream fishing because of snagging. I use the completely round split shot. But, they are very hard to remove from the line. Do you have any suggestions that might help? Thanks Benny P. Enjoy your flies and your videos.
@roberta.k42135 жыл бұрын
Rankin Darby - figured I would chime in here. Centerpin angling makes a tool for removing them , but be careful they can fray or cut ur tippet easily. Micro split shot pliers
@living4theoutdoors5 жыл бұрын
Thanks Robert, I will have to look those up. Rankin, thanks for the support and I am so use to catching the bottom it is just part of the game for me now. I feel like I tie knots in my sleep, ha ha. Best of luck this season and thanks for all of the support.
@matteoveneruz90965 жыл бұрын
I usually just use needle nose pliers and clamp down vertically on the back of the split shot sways from the opening if that makes sense. It usually opens it up just enough to get you finger nails or a hook in there to pry it open.

I’ll give it a try thanks

@@living4theoutdoors Thanks. I got out this Saturday for some bluelining. I fished the headwaters of Fishing Creek (that runs through Columbia county) above Cambra. The stream in this area runs through the old CCC camp and is only about 15' wide in most spots, and the deepest holes (mostly pocket water) are only about 2' deep. Caught about 15-20 natives. Most ran about 6", but I love catching natives on these wild streams. Thank you for all you do, and responding, not only to videos but emails so promptly and friendly. Should have my next order (starting to learn to tie flies) shortly.
