'07 Mustang GT owner here and have driven it daily for the 10.5 years I've owned it. 270k miles on her now and she still runs like a champ. Past 8 years have been spent in SE Wisconsin and really all that's needed for winter is snow tires. Have had 2 sets of Blizzak WS70's and this past winter got Blizzak WS90's and it drives perfect in snow up to 3" and then I notice a little indecisiveness (doesn't help that I'm lowered on Eibach Sportlines) but she plows her way through at a good 35-40mph. Why speed through snow anyways? Not once have I gotten stuck or slid off the road, just drive sensibly the car will tell you what it's feeling. I've done ~50mph in 1-2" snow covered roads and 35mph on same amount of snow with a little icy/slush underneath, when the car stops feeling stable is when you need to back off 5mph and just cruise along. Like Red5oh said it's a Mustang GT nothing special really, why not enjoy it all year long? :D It's also fun turning off TCS and sliding around a bit :)
@Red5oh2 жыл бұрын
270k miles?! That’s impressive in s197 gt. I used to have a 2006 mustang gt with 155k miles before I sold it and I thought that was a lot of miles on the car lol. Winter tires are the solution like you said! As long as you drive carefully during snow and have winter tires you can easily navigate through most snow situations.

Yeah mines stuck too lol. If it snows a lot it’s hard to daily but for couple inches of snow it’s doable. How’s the accord transmission treating you lol? I had 01 accord that had transmission problems which is fairly common
@VesselFitterguy3 жыл бұрын
@@Red5oh Funny u mention that. I actually bought it for $500 because it had a hard shift e years ago. I added a b&m supercooler transmission cooler and have been driving it since. I decided to change the motor and transmission mounts 3 weeks ago and the first time driving it now it's slipping and slamming into gears. Bfor it just had a delayed shift. I definitely got my money's worth out of it. I put headers, CAI, exhaust, wheels, lights, tint on the car to make it look descent. I was gonna supercharge it but they don't make it he kit anymore and I haven't ran across an old one yet. It's slow as hell compared to anything made after 2010 but it's super reliable. I still get compliments from people on the Honda more than my Mustang. My rims are 2018 18in black Honda Accord wheels. They modernized the look a bit. Along with the black headlights.

My dad daily drove a 2001 new edge for about 15 years as his only car. We're in Canada, so a lot of snow, slush, wet conditions, ice, etc. It's definitely doable, and the older ones handle worse. He was stuck a lot of mornings though in the drive way, we used salt or boiled water to get him out.

Great video… looking to buy my first Mustang 5.0 but have been hesitant because I live in Canada, more specifically Ottawa. A very snowy city, even for Canada, especially compared to the US. Even here though, it says the average snowfall on the roads is very rarely above 2inch deep when it snows. W 14 total days a year averaging over 2inches-5inches w storms. 10+inches once a decade roughly. Typically everyone here knows you need winter tires, regardless of vehicle. I’ve seen a few Mustangs in the winter but they’re usually the eco-boosts. Gives me confidence I can daily a 5.0. Any advice for which 5.0 to look at? Roughly 25K budget, but can always add a little more, especially for a new model. Really enjoy the content and opinions, comment section was helpful too!
@Red5oh2 жыл бұрын
I think with a set of winter tires and sec control you will be fine. Since the car is lower than average cars you’ll run into clearance issue if snow piles up but otherwise you will be fine of course just drive slow. I actually visited Canada (Mississauga) in November and on my way back I ebp countered snow. Getting out of the neighborhood was sketchy as roads hadn’t been cleaned but highways was fine. I had all seasons on and just drove it slow. I’d recommend looking for at least 301a package for gt or premium as they give you driving modes. Snow and rain mode was blessing on my way back

@Joseph Joestar so much power you do have to drive it a bit more carefully as in any car in the wet but that does not mean you have to go too slow lol but in the dry with the upgraded tyres brakes and suspension you get on the PP1 it handles as well as most European car I had the new TYPE R before this which would be quicker on a B road but on a straight the Honda would be left a long way behind but you can go faster around bends than any mustang before it the most exciting car I have ever owned

This video didn’t age well. Mustangs are special but not for the reason you think. They are special because they are the last of a breed. American muscle V8’s are dying because of the Democrat Communists push towards an energy source that is far from capable of sustaining the automotive industry. What makes the Mustang special and any other American muscle car is the fact that if it has a v8 it will be highly coveted in a dystopian future.
@Red5oh2 жыл бұрын
They are certainly last of the dying breed. I’m glad ford is still producing the V8s. What I meant in the video is they are not cars you’d just keep in your garage. We should be enjoying the cars rather than keeping miles off of them
