Very helpful video. I want these now. Are the mounting bracket included or did you have to purchase those separate? Thanks in advance

Thank you, glad it's useful! The brackets are included with the lights if you "shop by vehicle" on the Diode Dynamics website.

Nice video. I'm somewhat struggling on the install of these. Seems like they have a very fine line between being secure and falling out of place. I can get them to be secure, but they have almost no adjustment. As soon as I adjust them, they pop off of the clip. I got them to work and their output is good on the road, I just worry about them popping out of place if something hits them, get sprayed in a car wash, etc. Other than that they are in place properly and work. Any word on that?

Thank you, glad it's useful. I definitely had to mess around with mine to get them to sit properly. In the end, the trick was to snug the screws on either side of the bracket (the ones that thread into the nylok nuts) to the point where they held the lights in place firmly, but were just loose enough that I could manipulate the position of the lights with moderate pressure. Too loose, and they can get knocked out of place easily; too tight, and it's impossible to position them at all. Hope this helps!

I just re-read your comment; are you trying to adjust them from the bracket or from the bumper mount? I'd recommend adjusting them from the bracket (pivoting up and down), as the bumper mounts are not very forgiving.
@BLtheP3 жыл бұрын
@@happyfrontier249 Sorry, let me clarify. I have the factory bumper mount, the circular ring. I took the DD bracket (4 bolt holes) and loosely installed it to the light. I snugged it up just enough that I can still move it, without it moving on its own. Basically what you said. I tightened the light in the bracket to where it was seated as far back as it could be. Meaning the light is close to the DD bracket, which would pull it away from the bumper (to allow maximum adjustability). I then bolted the DD bracket and light to the factory ring. then when I was trying to install the whole assembly to the bumper, I found it nearly impossible to get the ring installed without the light pushing against the bumper and keeping me from getting it seated very well. I got it to work, but the light only has a tiny amount of vertical adjustment. If I adjust them too far, the light pushes off the bumper and the ring pops of of the bumper clip. The bolt is still in place so it isn't going to fall off or anything, but obviously if it becomes unclipped that's no good, and then I have to undo the liner and pop the assembly back into place on the clip. It just feels like a very small force could pop my light ring off of the clip, so I'm not sure if it's installed right. Also, the ring only has 3 bolt holes for the bracket, as you mentioned. The one that is unbolted, that ear of the bracket is lifting up from the light pushing backwards as it gets pressed against the bumper.

@@BLtheP Ok, i understand better now. Yes, I had exactly the same issue when trying to attach the ring (with the DD bracket and light attached) to the bumper. I just used as much muscle as I dared to force it over the clip. It's definitely not ideal, but mine does have some play for adjusting the aim of the light. I feel like the engineers at Nissan could have done a much better job with the design of the mounting mechanism, and I also think the DD engineers could improve the fit of their lights to the Nissan bumper. All that said, mine have not popped out or become mis-aligned since I installed them.

@@happyfrontier249 yeah I think we’re pretty much at the same spot, I’m just hyperventilating over it. I was able to get good coverage out of mine, I just need to not touch them. As long as they don’t pop out of place on their own I should be fine as it. Just hope spraying the truck with a hose doesn’t push them out of place. I definitely agree that Nissan could have done a much better job. DD probably should have made the bracket out of metal, not plastic. Also on the 4th screw I’m thinking I’m going to drill a hole and use a small screw and nut for extra stability.

Did you end up tightening down the nylon nuts after aiming/install?
@happyfrontier2494 жыл бұрын
I did not. I found that the lights self-aligned on the "bumps" inside the bumper cutouts, if that makes sense. This causes the lights to stay in place pretty well without having to tighten down the nylon nuts.. There is a small amount of adjustment that can be made by simply pushing on the face of the light to aim it up or down, but it is minimal, and it's tight enough that it will not move on its own.
