You mentioned wiring up a factory looking dash button that fits in the blank. Could you explain how to go from the two wires on the button wire to the four that come out of the dash button?

With the add-a-circuit you need to pay special attention to the orientation. One way or works as intended, the other way the original fuse is coping with the consume of both circuits so you may get constant blown fuses. It is important to check with a circuit light or voltmeter. The wire side should always be on the cold side of the circuit.

I understand they are oriented but if your using a fuse tap to a relay then you should only be only be pulling the very low amperage to the switch and not the full amperage of the accessorie. So it really shouldn't be overloading the circuit. Is that right?

@@danielbonner8309 ​​correct but with canbus vehicles it isn't recommended to add draw to circuits, the other issue with add a circuit is that if you reverse it the new circuit won't be protected. That's is because if the tail is on the hot side then it is basically bypassing the fuse.

@@munecito Ok. I see that when just adding a an accessory directly to the add a circuit but when your adding a harness with a relay you would be getting the power directly from the battery which has an inline fuse in it. Regardless I'd want the fuse tap oriented correctly.

​@@danielbonner8309 depending on what circuit you are tapping from the canbus could start throwing codes with milliamps. Some circuits are more sensitive. If you must use the cigarette lighter circuit or internal lights.

On this harness used in this video, have you ever cut the switch off the wiring on one of these to see how many wires are in the sheathing? I was thinking about trying to use this harness on an OEM factory switch and that switch has 2 wires coming off of it.

I couldn't figure out why there would be three wires until watching your video. Okay so I have a wire harness for a turn signal lights that go from the back to the front of my 22 Polaris Ranger and have 2 toggle switches 1 for horn and 1 for signals. Then agter the toggles I have 2 white wires hooked together with a eye hook , 1 for 12v constant , 1 for 12v -. Then have a pulse / bus bar plus with a black , red , yellow but would like to hook it up to come on with the key only so I dont drain the battery! Where would I put a relay and hook the wires also use the 3 wire plug that came with it? Hope to hear from you!

You can never have enough ground. When I had a boat with many accessories, I installed a separate ground buss near the fuse panel so every power line had a place to attach a ground lead. Of course I did this because the boat was made of fiberglass. On my modified vehicles, I run a lot of ground straps all over the vehicle. All it takes is one ground strap to fail and now you might run into resistance problems.

I have a question, I used this switch, I cut the negative wire in half (it’s for a particle seperater on a side by side) I cut the negative in half and put one end on the gold and one end on the outter silver. Left the middle one blank. And it works when I turn the switch on it works and the led lights up. The middle pin is blank. I’m confused if it is safe? And why it still works? I’m just using 2 pins , the negative wire only. And the led still lights up.

Some harnesses come with an inline fuse holder. If not, you'll need to splice one in. For fuse size; if your fans draw 26 amps, use a 30 amp fuse.

Hello, can you please help. I have installed 2 number 60 watts of aux light in my royal Enfield at 12v that means 10A, the alternator of royal Enfield is 216 W roughly 18A. I have wired my relay such that it will start when I turn on the ignition key, yet I'm facing battery draining issue while I'm riding (i.e when alternator is feeding the current) I have seen many using 60w aux in enfield hence I assume the alternator can power these lights along with the other electricals. Can you advice me where I'm going wrong, though one thing that I did differently is that I've connected the black wire in the negative terminal of the battery. Appreciate if you can help

I bought some 4led grille lights (6 of them) to wire in my truck . They each obviously have 2 wires (red & black) coming off the back . I only have an existing wiring rubber boot(already loaded with a bunch of wires).
