Overall a great review and video by Lyn - except the voiceovers. I don't know if the audio system being used to record that was different from the 'live on set' mics used but I felt like she was lacking enthusiasm in her voice whenever she was narrating from off screen. The spec sheet read out may also have contributed - it's hard to be enthusiastic about numbers or statistics - but that would be a place for improvement for next time, in my opinion. Nice to see a new face at KBB (and glad that fan favourite Micah is still there too)!

Guys, she's putting down the Pathfinder because it's worse than almost every other vehicle in its class. Zach does reviews like this all of the time, and I see no one complaining.
@Hosein8686 жыл бұрын
Can't help but notice she positively hates this SUV. Praising the old body on frame Pathfinder misses the whole point of crossovers namely more space, better ride and handling and much better MPG. This generation has sold 3 times more than the body on frame 3rd gen because of all the benefits of being a crossover. This review was very subjective, overestating the shortcomings and watering down or all together neglecting the positives of this SUV compared to its competition: best in class towing, option of decoupled 2WD and 4WD Lock, spacious 3rd row, above average acceleration and MPG and that is what buyers in this segment want not rock climbing capability.

We had 3 Pathfinders in a row. I belive they were 2007, then for sure a 2011 and now a 2018. The 2007 was a 4 cylinder (I'm from Europe), 2011 a top-of-the-line V6, and now we imported a 2018 in spring. It's such a difference from the old chassis. It's so much more comfortable. And it can go "offroad" enough for most people. It's an absolutely amazing car. We love it.

The R50 generation (1996-2004) of the Pathfinder was unibody. Then it went back to a ladder frame, and now back to unibody again.
@BanBiofuels6 жыл бұрын
I think it looks really nice. PS What's wrong with beige? Are the coffin black interiors on so many new vehicles better? You need a light color to reflect light so that your car interior does not become a solar heat collecting device when you park at the supermarket on a hot day. If you have stark white, that is too bright and shows dirt too much. Green, brown, red, blue? What color do you want? I think beige is the perfect color for practicality and looks, and it is neutral so it goes with everything and you don't get tired of it. Beige ages well and looks good in both leather and in fabric. Blue or green leather does not work, and brown leather ages badly even though it looks great when new.

Uhm.... SV doesn't have leather... It's cloth SL is the first trim to add leather. Also the Pathfinder in its second generation from 1996-2004 was unibody, third generation switched back to BOF shared with the Xterra and Frontier. I'd think KBB would be able to get such simple basics right...

Wait, did you say "outdated" and "Nissan" in the same sentence? Say it isn't so! No surprise there. Nissan is notorious for keeping all of their platforms around for FAR past their due date. I have recently test driven a pathfinder and a highlander, and checked out the photos of a few other makes of SUV in similar price range. One thing I noticed is that only the pathfinder has the center LCD under shade. All other makes have center LCD that can be hit by direct sunlight that would cause the screen harder to view.

@Vanguardkl6 жыл бұрын
Aric Beemer but those soft plastics aren't really that much more expensive and the touch points aren't really all that many, just a few parts of the car need to have touch friendly zones. Options are overpriced though I'll agree, and that's why I'm not buying a new car until I'm earning top 10% wages...

Hi Lyn, Ricky here from Massachusetts, great to watch a new vid of you and Micah. The 2018 Nissan Pathfinder is very long in the tooth, but NIssan has always been passive about letting their vehicle lineup go stale. Remember the Xterra? I drove the "new" Pathfinder some months ago, and I was not impressed, so the fact that Pathfinder can be upwards of nearly $50 grand is a joke to me.

Recently purchased a preowned 2008 V8 LE. My brother in law has a 2011 Armada. The driving dynamics are totally different. The Pathy V8 is faster, shorter turning radius, and gets better gas mpg, because it weighs about 650lbs less. It was wholesaled out to me, because of a few maintenance issues. Couldn't be happier. It's a blast to drive and other drivers back off once they see the V8 emblem and hear the exhaust note, lol. One thing I find strange is that the Tow-Haul button synchronizing the transmission during towing was not available on the V8? Such an option was on both the Armada and Titan. Can anyone answer this?
