I played the demo before this game came out a couple of years ago, and while I fought Blaziken with Weavile, Mom asked, “what are you playing”? I answered, “ im using an artic cat against a giant fire breathing chicken”! 😂

@@KKHell The roster isn't that bad in my opinion, compared to the original on the Wii U. I mean, I wish they added more fighters to the roster, as the competitive scene is still active. But unfortunately, online seems pretty dead. Hopefully if they make another Pokemon fighting game they'll add more fighters with more single player content, and perhaps make the combat more traditional like Street Fighter, or something similar to the Marvel VS Capcom formula.

It doesn't, type advantage isn't a thing. That being said, the moves based on real pokemon moves tend to share their properties: Mewtwo's hyper beam for example leaves him exhausted for like a second aftewards, making him vulnerable, for instance; while Chandelure's hex grows more powerful the more debuffs the other player has, etc.
