I'm an idiot (salesman) with only minimal mechanical skills. I watched this video a few times, ordered the unit, and installed it all yesterday. It took about 35 minutes. There was some beer sipping in there too, so probably could've done it in about 30 minutes. Very simple install. Two things - I have a 2021 Ram 1500 Laramie with the 5.7L V8 eTorque engine. There's a thing called a Motor Generator Unit (MGU) that sits on top of the alternator. It made it a little more difficult to get to and tighten the clamps around the coupler that mounts to the throttle body, but not massively more difficult by any means. The MGU doesn't exist in this video, so I thought I'd mention it. Also, the metal/aluminum hose fitting that gets mounted to the underside of the new AFE kit's main air hose is now a hard black plastic piece and not metal as the video shows. Not a problem as the new plastic piece is very sturdy feeling. Lastly, at 7:35, he talks about a rubber plug that fits into the side of the filter box and mentions that you can leave it our when installing the unit for more air flow. That's what I opted to do also. This is such a thorough instructional video, that I didn't even bother with the written instructions. Just put your phone near your work area and watch it as you go. I took the truck out on the road last evening and let 'er rip. I could definitely feel a difference in pick up power. This is a good and easy mod for guys like me to make without ruining anything under the hood. Great product and great video.

Why remove the factory Air duct if you are just gonna reinstall it before dropping the AFE air box back in.

No intake requires a tune but you will notice more gains with a tune

If you care about warranty you can't afford the truck. Why would you view this simple mod if you care about warranty??

A large majority of dealerships don't give a lot of trouble over cold air intake kits like this honestly, they treat it the same as exhaust systems. If you're concerned about your warranty you can always get in touch with your personal dealership beforehand. And if we want to get technical with things, the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act protects consumers from dealerships voiding an entire warranty just because you put on an aftermarket part. -Zach

Like ATR said, most dealers don't care much about cold air intakes. But if youre worried why not just put the stock one back on if you're taking the truck in for warranty work?

Based on the comments thus far not everyone said that ALL dealers don't care that means someone does. My point is this that when you start messing something that is under warranty and something goes wrong they would look for an excuse not to honor it. That's the kind of world we life in now a day.

Actually the dealer and it doesn’t matter which dealership, would have to prove that your modification is directly responsible for the failure of whatever system or part you are seeking to have fixed under warranty.
