@@Texas12valve FYI I'm 60 it took me almost 40 years to get here. 36 years of marriage raised 5 kids, served my country and retired from law enforcement. It's ashame younger folks can't afford cars and trucks anymore, let alone a house. I'm very lucky I brought mine used in before Biden/Harris and COVID. Hopefully their BS soon ends and prices start to come down, and inflation slows.

Going to a reputable tint shop and getting some high quality ceramic tint on the front windshield will do wonders for keeping the cab cooler and block the UV on the dash. You don't have to go dark either, it will probably only be noticeable by you. I ran it in my 2018 rebel for 5.5 years and 200,000 miles and never once got a second look from law enforcement. I just got a 2021 rebel last week and its amazed how much of a difference it made and its winter time.

Hey Justin, in case nobody suggested, I did try and read through but may have missed it, on your steering wheel question. Grab any “interior cleaner” from your fav store, spray that area and let it sit for a few minutes, then take a microfiber towel and wipe GENTLY in one specific spot. If it’s dirt, you should see a change very quickly. If it’s leather, it shouldn’t change. Also, on that dash piece, I’d just pull it and have an interior shop re-cover it. It shouldn’t be too expensive and will keep it from further damage, and yes, spend fifteen bucks on a sun shade for that dash! Thanks for the great series. Your videos helped me decide to buy a used 2020 Laramie back in 22. It’s two years later and I still think I made the best choice for what was available at the time. Cheers!

I pull trailers I work construction and I think it’s because of my work that the hemi still solid. I head a mechanic saying that the issue with hemos is low oil pressing low rpm so the more rpm’s the more oil pressure.

My 2019 Ram 1500 Laramie 5.7 / 4WD with 59k miles just received a whole brand new long block courtesy of RAM / Stellantis due to the magic milkshake... Oil mixing with coolant. No overheating, no issues. Just pulled out of my garage and noticed a odd looking puddle near the front passenger wheel. Noticed it looked like a chocolate milkshake. First I checked the coolant reservoir... absolutely full with milkshake. (Keep in mind coolant should be orange-ish.). Checked my oil which was just changed about 2500 miles prior, and it was over a qt low. Had it towed to my local dealer, the radiator was full of the milkshake mixture, and they pulled history on the ECM and no overheating or other history of codes. They said they suspected head gaskets but checked with RAM and they said it's not worth the risk of it coming back if the head gasket isn't the root cause, so they ordered a full long block, new hoses, and new radiator and will attempt to flush the heater core.

I was fortunate with a good job ,lots of overtime and payed cash for a new 2012 shortbed, single cab 4x4 Express and now it only has 84,000 miles on it. Being retired for a couple of years i only put about a thousand miles a year it right now. If i don't get in a wreck, ill die with it. And barely have over a 100 thousand miles on it. 😊 All it needed was a custom intake with the biggest K +N air filter and that 1 foot long Flowmaster muffler. ( the name is on the tip of my tongue .. Great accomplishment, Mr. Justin. And it gives me hope I can get at least another 100k out of my 2012 5.7 Ram with 101,000 miles. I'm just concerned pushing your luck with only 20 oil changes in that many miles. I personally would've done double that many oil changes. Modern engines are so vulnerable to damage or failure if the oil is even moderately dirty it's just not worth the risk to push intervals past 6,000 miles.

Here is a story and information for you. On this same truck. The truck is a 2019 RAM quad cab, Laramie, 5.7 liter Hemi, 6” lift, 4X4 with three adults riding on 37” tires. Yeah, 37’s 😅 We rented and towed a 11k pound 36’ bumper pull RV from Dallas, TX to Lake Powell, Arizona (Pace, AZ) then to the south rim of the Grand Canyon and back 2,400 miles round trip. It was August of 2023 and 105-110 degrees the entire trip. We towed it at 70-75 mph, the truck lived at 3,000 RPM’s and in some of the mountains it was holding 4,000 RPM’s up long hills. The truck did great, not skipping a beat. We changed the oil before and after the trip synthetic AMs Oil, and ran premium fuel. I limited the gear shifts to keep it from changing gears all the time. The transmission, oil, and coolant temps all rose during the long mountain hill climbs but remained within the acceptable limits. We for sure pushed the truck but it did great and still going strong today. My concern is the transmission fluid, the truck had 38k miles and today 46k miles and we plan on keeping it for several more years. When fluids get hot they begin to break down. We never roasted the fluid but it was getting close. Our MPG were upper 8’s. I can’t say enough good things about that truck. We were maxed out on tow rating and I am sure several hundred pounds over payload. I know better today. Because of that rented RV and trip we did end up buying a Brinkley Z3610 and bought a 2024 Ford F350 SRW, HO 6.7, Platnium, Tremor turns out we are kinda close to maxing that thing out too once loaded up but we are going to live with being 280 pounds under payload. That RAM 5.7 engine, transmission, and cooling system are as reliable as they come. We aren’t having any interior issues, it’s been a well built truck.

Great video, here is a little story about my transmission. Traded trucks with my dad, he had a 2011 f150 with 113kmiles, I couldn’t find records of a transmission fluid change, so after deliberating on what route to go I decided to not get a flush, but only drain the fluid and change filter. I was going to keep the truck so I thought it was the best thing to do than just leaving it alone. it was ok for 1-2 weeks then developed a shutter in first and rear gears always right after starting it, then got a little better once driving around. After 2 months of driving it and 5kmiles later it has gotten a little better but still noticeable. I hope it goes away over time, but I still question myself if it was the right thing to do.

#1 clean the steering wheel with turtle wax leather cleaner. I have to clean mine every 3 months or so. #2 it takes about 30 miles or so on the hiway and then l have to turn the airconditioner down. #3 maybe try to inject some adhesive under the dash cover. #4 the early model 2019 hemi had the stronger exhaust manifolds carried over from 2018. My problem was the bolts. This is what my dealership told me. Great video. Keep them coming.

19 ram limited owner here, I just purchased a new steering wheel rim from the dealer. It was $320cad. Does not include buttons or bottom trim, but those are easy to swap over. Comes with the matte finish wood grain as found on 20’ models. Hopefully you can still buy this wheel are the newer rams have no wood trim on the top of the wheel. I think this is the way to go as trimming the existing wheel in new leather will cost more than a brand new factory wheel and is not time efficient. (Wheel will spend time at a upholsterer)

Justin that is a great video on a long-term review. You mentioned your fuel mileage not being any better than 16-17 MPG, and that is without gunning it. I run mine at 80 plus all the time and get consistent 19-22 MPGs. The only time I don't is when I have a headwind. Then it feels like driving a brick, and I only get 16. I have pictures to prove that my 22 Longhorn Limited with the E-Torque 5.7L, 65K miles, and 3.21 gears gets the mileage I said. Ultimately, it is not a big deal since, after all, it is a truck we drive and not a Prius. LOL. It is a fun game to play, though. Did I mention that I love my truck!!

12:01 - I'm shocked to hear the folding mirrors haven't failed on you. My 2019 Limited passenger-side motor broke after less than 15 actuations. The driver-side motor is now clicking and snapping and refusing to lock unless I fiddle with it. Mine was built in July of 2018; they must've corrected that issue sometime before yours finished assembly. 18:18 - Experience this issue about 50% of the time I attempt to open the tailgate. I found the remedy is to push the tailgate *closed* while pressing the release button; seems counterintuitive, but it relieves pressure on the latches so that it can fall freely. This would be incredibly annoying if you need to use the in-cab or keyfob opener on a regular basis.

Carvana is delivering it and I like the warranty and return policy enough to try it out for the first time. Your description of the issues does not concern me. I recently had the cam phasers replaced on the F150 and they had to remove the entire cab to do it. The paint has been peeling and Ford won't admit it's their fault. I'm over the aluminum body too. *DAAANG* your truck is durrty! Thanks for the honest, down to earth review! I would say you definitely underestimate the damage and general wear that constant sun exposure does to the interior, especially leather. You basically cook the leather every time it's sitting in the sun for hours. You can't always choose a parking spot in the shade, but like you suggested, you can cover the windshield or front end with something reflective. That sounds like a good idea to prevent unnecessary deterioration of the interior.

Hello there neighbor- Henryetta here! Ive got a 2019 White Limited eTorque I bought new! I’ve enjoyed your videos on your limited! My dash just started bubbling about a week ago too! I’m currently at 24,000 miles and it’s been garaged since day 1! Have you done the update for the Harman Kardon yet? As for your AC not working great, have you replaced your humidity sensor yet? I did that on my grandmothers 300C and it blew so much colder with the new sensor!

I’m surprised the dash still delaminated being garage kept. Guess I couldn’t have prevented it if I tried. I haven’t done the HK update or replaced the humidity sensor. I need to look into that. Thanks for the reminder!

@@MrJustinWheeler just saw your reply! It surprised me too. I just need to schedule it in since I have the maxcare warranty. Now, the issue is finding a place competent to do it lol. On the RAMBOX lid I'm having the some problems with one of the lid deck is bowing a little. I had the dealer work several hours on the same problem. Tech at the dealership stated that it comes from closing the lid/deck on the end of the of lid instead of in the middle (right above the lock). Just say'n!!

I watched ur issues with front cv axles. I have a 2013 1500 Laramie with 3" lift and had same issue. I replaced those with ones from Advanced Auto, basically same as RockAuto ones. About 5 months and both boots ripped. Took those back and replaced under warranty. Installed and those only lasted about 5 months. I was tired of this because its a pain in the ass job. So at 165,000 decided to rebuild the whole suspension since it was basically worn out and replace front axles again. I went on RockAuto and found these axles made by Trakmotive. They are made for trucks with lift and have a split axle style that lets the two halves slide, which may help your case since you have air bags and lift truck. They are more expensive, but don't regret buying. it's been over a year now and these axles have shown no wear at all. I didn't see if you replaced yours yet. I now have 186,000 miles.

Tried to tow with it a couple times and it was awful, the fuel mileage was worse then my current HEMI, was slow in traffic and merging onto the highway was borderline dangerous. But this new truck will throw you into the seat and doesn’t even notice the camper 😂

I'm sure you already got an answer for this, but regarding your steering wheel, that looks like worn leather to me. I currently have a 2014 ram (looking to upgrade to the 5th gen limited) and mine is very similar to that. I have read online that there are ways to correct that wear by cleaning it, sanding it with a high grit paper, use a degreaser on it to get all of the leather particles off and refinish it with a leather recoloring balm. Seems to be pretty easy and cheap, i just havent gotten around to it quite yet. Hopefully that helps! And thank you for such an in depth video about your truck. Much appreciated

My trucks 8.4 inch screen delaminated. After some back and fourth ram covered it. And my rear window leaked. Ram fixed it but it was still leaking so I fixed it. As for an exhaust I have the Clowmaster flownFX. It sounds good but is rusting much more than the Borla on my Camaro and the black tips are pealing. I won’t get another Flowmaster, the metal must not be very high quality, when it falls off I’ll buy something with higher quality.

@@MrJustinWheeler it sounds good, cold starts it really comes to life but then settles down to a nice rumble. From inside the truck you can hear it but it’s not obnoxious and doesn’t interfere when you want to talk to people inside the truck. But I’m disappointed that the black tips are flaking and the metal pipes have a lot of surface rust, much more than the original pipes. I would 100 percent recommend it but if you plan on keeping the truck for a long time I think i would go with borla or another company who uses better steel.

My 2019 had similar steering wheel issue, wasn’t sure if it was build up or the leather breaking down. Ended up being buildup from hands. Simple Green and some light agitation took it right off. Then just apply some leather conditioner afterwards.

This is a great video! I recently purchased the same truck and am curious what you do or use to clean the leather. I have read that only soap and water should be used. I figured if it is real leather, using an actual leather conditioner would be good, and that may even prevent that dash from delaminating or having the edges come undone. Thoughts?

I've had my 2021 for 30k miles. Already having issues with things that are nickel and diming me. Issues with the fuel tank evap canister solid freezing up. Won't take gas in the winter. Exhaust manifolds cracked at 30k miles, and pretty sure they are cracked again. Luckily that one is under warranty. Front electronic drop down air dam lost communication, sounds like it fills with water. Replaced the passenger side door glass because it caught a rock. Was easy to change myself. Not the Trucks fault on that one. Just lots of dumb little things. Our local ram dealer is EXPENSIVE for service I try to do as much as I can myself. I'm thinking of upgrading from the 23 gallon to the 33 gallon gas tank before winter hits and I need to deal with that evap canister. Towing on a 23 gallon tank is pure stupidity. Found myself carrying 10 gallons of gas in cans on hauls through the middle of nowhere just incase a place was closed. One of my frequent stops in the middle of nothing had burned down so it saved my but once.
