Use a vice grip to hold the bar end caps in place then while holding on use a hex key to rotate the screw. The end caps will come off with ease. This way you avoid taking the entire inside rod out.

Thank you sir ! Worked like a charm

There's an easier way to do it, just take the mirror apart, the mirror bracket comes apart, unscrew the two bolts and the bracket separates in half, put it on bar, then put the mirror ball back in its socket and screw the brackets together again. Much easier than going through all the work to remove the bar end.
@ad785 жыл бұрын
The reason why it was meaty when you pulled out is because they put some weight so it will decrease the handlebar vibration.

I have been struggling with the same issue and this video is the only legit video. Not sure how it's a cake walk for most of the other video's who are not showing the struggle or the the way they did it. I am gonna try more if not then probably will try during my service.
@TheDirtyWrenchLLC4 жыл бұрын
I had the same issue so then I downloaded the service manual and they made it look simple. Wasn't working for me until I held the end cap then gave the bolt a little twist. Using a rag and vise grip to hold it still.

Hey man, you don't have to take the bar end weight whole assembly out. Just hold the bar end cap with a nose pliers and then turn the allen bolt
@spottycameron5 жыл бұрын
Aashirwad Tripathy ever tried doing it before? Ain’t easy.
@aashirwadtripathy11135 жыл бұрын
@@spottycameron I had done it before. When the assembly (the bar end weight) is inside the handle bar..(just like it came from the factory)...you just grab the bar end weight with a nose plier such a way that it doesn't rotate and with the other hand, put a Allen key and just unscrew it...takes a jolt before getting loose. And it (bar end weight) just unscrews from the bar end assembly ( that you pull out of the handle bar every time). 👍🏻
@civilian4015 жыл бұрын
Hey Hey, thanks for the video and the effort you put into your channel. Can I suggest making an update to this video? The bar ends are pretty easy to get off without a screwdriver and hammer. Simply push the bar end in towards the gas tank then use a Hex key to remove. There is a small lip on the bar end that needs to catch the end weight piece.

@Burtonini Motors It’s quite simple to unscrew bar end finisher. Just hold the finisher (Rapping with cloth) with plier and use 5 mm Allen Key to unscrew. It is the method and tested many times.
@paulhopper54593 жыл бұрын
Just tried that and it worked like a charm. Thanks for the very succinct and accurate information!
@reaper88875 жыл бұрын
You should ve gripped the silver bar end finisher with a grip wrench or something and then use the allen keys to unscrew.. that would've worked. No need to remove the whole bar end core to install that mirror. And the proper way to remove the "bar end core" was to undo the 2 lock/clips on the tube that u"ll see when u roll the rubber grips slightly up and gently pull it out . ✌️
@BurtoniMotors5 жыл бұрын
What’s not shown in this video was the 45 minutes of trying every single way I could imagine (including what you just described) to remove the bar end. Unfortunately when I gripped the silver finished with a monkey wrench / rag combo, nothing happened except that everything kept spinning. After posting this video in a few Royal enfield groups it seems like a lot of people had the exact same issue as me.
@reaper88875 жыл бұрын
@@BurtoniMotors i know man, i had the same issue with my GT too, and there isn't enough information regarding this "spinning bar end problem" on the internet . I nearly gave up on installing my mirrors DIY cause of this .but then fortunately i came across this video of an R3 owner installing the bar end mirrors on KZbin ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/jWmcl4mpabOXopI ) and guess what, its barends are exactly like the GT's ,i followed the same method and it worked for me. And its a really easy process too, honestly it was kinda painful to watch u go at it like that 😅 but, whatever works works i guess.

I just watched the R3 video and came across a similar video in my research, tried the method. Nothing happened. Trust me, going at my bike with a hammer was really the most painful thing I've ever had to do. But, after 45 min of trying literally everything they had to come out. At this point, it is what it is

Could u just have completely unscrew the mirrors, slid them over in place and then clamped them down, with out removing the whole bar end?
@akosirolandr4 жыл бұрын
looks like you didn't have to take the bar end cap out. You take off the plastic spacer from the bar end and open the clip on the mirror (clamp style) and clamp it back on the end of the handlebar. The mirror is designed that way so you don't have to take the bar end cap off.

I had to grab the end cap with some vice grip pliers and then remove the Allen bolt. Stumped me for a bit, it is kind of nice seeing what's inside the bar though, I was curious. I installed the RE bar end mirrors but in the end my end caps don't sit completely flush now and it bothers me. It seems like they could use a better system to lock the end cap into the piece inside the bars.

Interesting. I had the bars on my interceptor changed, and the bit INSIDE the bars wouldn’t come out. Had to get some different bar end weights for the new bars. Assumed the thing they screw into was welded in, but clearly not.
