Thanks - I just could not figure out how to get the lens out, and didn't want to risk breaking it. I had taken out the center panel trim (sunroof controls between the two lenses) when I got stuck and looked for help. That helped replace the first lens that I took out - I kinda sorta inserted the lens cover from the center and it slid into place easier than trying to push the lens in from the side. You could have done it one handed. Then taking out the second lens was even easier tugging it to the center, than I'd found taking out the first one toward the rear of the car. So much happier with new LED bulbs!

Those festoon type bulbs come in a variety of lenghts. The ones you installed in the map lights holder must have been a millimeter or so off !

Now that's a proper installation. But be careful, don't use aftermarket LED for Subaru, unless the resistance is the same. Otherwise you can burn the BIU (body Integrated unit) overtime and that is going to be real expensive.

Wore gloves so I wouldn't to protect the led lights from oils from my hands.
