My drivers side lamp has burned out, and your results are so good I will look these up. My experience with aftermarket LED kits has been they do not work due to power draw, but someone finally figured it out. Great video, well made.

I think they have you cut the cord so they don’t have to deal with return shipping but also don’t get people scamming them for new ones.

Worked like a charm Light rotation is in the same direction regardless of what light it is Pop bolts have a central plug in which slides out approximately 5-6mm (1/3 inch) before it allows for the larger washer assembly to contract. Then the popout bolt & washer assembly slides out together. For my Subaru, I could not get as much exposure with 3 removed. When I removed the segment near the wheel, it didnt give my any more exposure than what I had intially, except some popout bolts which are now damaged from removing them in the cold.

Cool video B! Diode Dynamics makes ones in US of A and warranties them for 3 years. They got the shock and voltage spike testing and how to make these last longer to a science. I decided to be a bit different and got the yellow ones from them. So the cool thing is, driving down the highway, the yellow fogs really light up any reflective signage. Cut through morning fog like no fog lamps I’ve ever had. Kinda sharp looking on the Wilderness Green Outback with Bronze Method rims and Maxxis ATs. Cheers and thank you for the vids.

I haven't been happy with the fog lights on this car or any other car I've owned. Rain, snow, fog, all kind of useless. These LEDs are bright enough to light the the corner in a turn as designed but not so bright they're blinding others. I guess I could try yellow. I never have. Maybe on the Baja?

Thanks! Ordered from Lasfit site with free ship and a 10% drop. Looking forward to improved nighttime visuals driving my SW Wash mountain roads to home. Edit: they're a nice improvement when driving curvy mt roads at night. I never noticed the OEM fogs at night but see the lightup easily now and the added lighting is. great for safer running up here in the dark. We don't have street lights so unless the moon's near full it's pitch black.

I just received some non-fan cooled LED fog lights from Auxito, and WOW! What a difference it makes! It only took me 8 years to do it, LOL! They were only $38, so it was a pretty good deal. I really like how they light up the shoulder of the road, and being a cooler color, it really does light up the road much better. I wouldn't have tackled it, if it wasn't for your video, LOL! P.S. Now I have some clips ordered as well, because the old ones shattered when I tried to pop them out, LOL! The big ones were OK, but the smaller ones where so brittle, it wasn't even funny. The color temp is almost perfect, and 100% better matched than the old halogen ones.

The downside with those LEDs is that the fog BEAM pattern is destroyed. Notice against the garage wall at 3:20 how sharp the cutoff is on the halogen foglight vs the blob of light with the led foglight. Again this can be seen 3:44, the halogen foglight has a distinct cutoff just above the 3 level of bricks on the wall, whereas the LED has no cutoff whatsoever. This means if you were really driving in fog, the led light would just reflect off the fog in front of your car making it harder to see. Also, you have to consider how this looks to oncoming traffic. Do you want to have that misdirected light that is brighter than stock already, to shine into peoples' eyes? If the are blinded, they are also more likely to hit swipe you coming around narrow two lane road.

Agree on this one. People install aftermarket LED lights without thinking of others on the road. LED lights are blinding oncoming cars more then high beam on regular bulbs.

Gen 5 Outback above fog lights center height is 17” from the ground. We can always adjust the fog lights 1.5” - 2” below the 17” center fog light beam at 25 feet.

LED bulbs are no joke, if you get a good set. The steering responsive fog lights shut off if you turn the fog lights on.

Appreciate this video and I'll be ordering LED's to replace my existing fog light bulbs. Back when you made this video, you mentioned that you had not changed bulbs in your HID headlights. Have you done so to date? I want to change out my HID's to LED's but cannot find any information on how to do it. The high beam 9005 is simple enough but access to the low beam seems more complicated. It looks like the metal plate on the rear of the projector needs to be removed. Have you taken a look at this and if so, how would you do it? Your input would be appreciated. Have a great 2023!

If you have the HID's I would suggest going with the Phillips+150% HIDs. They're drop in replacements. I've read nothing but positive feedback (minus price) and tests show them to increase output. I plan to do this when mine go out. But now at close to 100k I still am on the factory bulbs.

The steering sensitive fog lights *SUCK!!!* And what really makes it a pain is you have to turn them off every time you start the car, not to mention the warning light. Also, the color temp is so far off from the HID lights, it looks like something is wrong with them, LOL! It looks really easy to access the lights to replace, so I'll have to try these out!

The fog lights don’t move while turning, only the cars HID HEADLIGHTS MOVE! Why did you think it was the FOGlights??

So your fogs use an H11? It's too bad my base model Forester came with no fog lights, I could've used my Lasfits there instead. Seems like a better application (for my car) than putting them in as low beam replacements in my halogen reflector headlamps. I notice you have some kind of projector housing for your headlamps, did your Outback come stock with those?

Yup. They're factory HID low beams. No need to upgrade really.

Hi...just found your channel and have been watching your Outback videos. I’m new to the Outback, picking up a slightly used dealer courtesy 2019 6cylinder Outback next Tuesday. I’m planning on putting 2inch LP lifts, skid-plate and 17 inch LP3 wheels and good all-terrain tires on it. So this is the factory HIDs low beam, factory halogen high beam, and after market LED fog lights. The fog lights turn on and off to light the corner as the car turns. In theory, this is supposed to help see around corners from wide angle lighting but in practice the fog lights are so weak they don't do much besides have people tell you you have a fog light out. You can see them briefly working in my Top 5 hate video, near the end when I'm talking about MPG.

Hey Bruceyyyyy, watched the entire video and am a fan of LED swaps, sort of. Let me let you in on why I hate the 6000K color selection though. You now blend in with every gas station, every Burger King (which I love), and every well lit via high pressure sodium sky lamps man has created parking lot. So when you are trying to see around that corner, well realize that the on coming vehicle that once was nice and helpful with their headlamps showing their position and view, is now drown out by everyone wanting "but this is like actual sun light" streaming from their sick new kicks, panels. End education from this dirt bag and again, very much enjoy your productions.

Neato! I kinda reviewed (more like overviewed) the las fit highbeams. There’s no way I can go back to incandescent lights. Are you able to run your fog lights full time? I love the fog lights in the Passport, they give a ditch light effect in about a 160 degree spread.

I would say the seal is bad. Probably easier to replace the unit.

I went to Silvania Silverstar-Ultra bulbs and it’s a very bright white. Have you tried comparing those with the stock bulbs?

I stopped using them when I built the steel bumper. I have no complaints. They still worked fine when removed.

Well, this is my story, I have a 2018 outback and I put the same Lastfit H11 fog lights, long story short, the car was 4 months at the dealer and 6,300 dollars in repair costs, if someone is useful this advice is free

The lights got wet with the rain, it seems that it affected the car's computerized system, it was necessary to change computers, modules, etc., it was quite a disaster
