Thanks for your video and support. But google maps is the best way to get around the world without so many complications as Toyota makes it seeing. I wish that the fabric understands that the last things with drivers want is to be distracted with his perfect maps. I’m a taxi driver and we don’t need this puzzle.

Thank you for your input and the kind words regarding the video, Carlos. There are certainly many features to Toyota's navigation system, so it takes a little while to become a Pro at using the embedded maps. However, most 2020 and 2021 Toyota models come equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which offers a more familiar approach to having a navigation system displayed on the head unit. Hey Chris to do that 1. Go to the Menu button 2. Click on Setup 3. in Setup go to Voice 4. After you go into voice you can adjust the voice recognition system volume and whether you want it on or off. Attached below is a reference KZbin video for the same. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eYm6e2einbl-hac

How do we set waypoints? And what good is route trace?

May you clarify what you mean by waypoints? If you mean Point of Interest, this video shows you at 6:57 on how to add POI on your map option. Route Trace is a feature that traces the route that you have taken with dots, so you can follow it back if you get lost and need to retrace your steps - This is also explained in detail if you go to 4:05.

A waypoint is point along a route between your starting point and destination. I use waypoints in my Garmin to force it set the route that I want, not what it thinks is the fastest. But I discovered how to do the same thing in the Toyota navigator. They don't call them waypoints, but you can set multiple destinations to build a route. It would be nice if I could save a route like that and not have to go through the whole process for each trip to the same place. Can the route trace accomplish that? (I don't know how you could get lost with a GPS.)

Previous destination should save multiple destination that your vehicle has arrived at, or you can certainly save them as your Preset destinations as you have 5 options, and can set them as an address or POI.

Is there a way to custom directions? I don’t want to drive on interstates and want a custom highway route even though it’s longer. All the 3 maps that come up for my destination have interstate for part of trip.

Did you ever find an answer? I’ll find a route I want to take, let’s say the day before a trip. I get in the car to take the actual trip and the route will be different. Drives me bonkers. There is a way yo choose no highways etc. Problem is, the routes constantly change. Probably to keep up with traffic.

@@jow.2450 I'm late to this conversation but I'm testing this now. I was able to edit the route and points along the way to include specific highways. After I set up the route, I paused guidance. I turned off the car and restarted, and I could resume guidance at that point. I also saved each point along the map to my destination so that when I leave Sunday, if the route is deleted, I can plug it right back in within a few minutes. Hopefully that helps and makes sense. Congratulations if you've already figured this out!

Hi thank you for your video I was try to add scout gps I downloaded it on my phone but my car has no scout I deleted the entune and reinstalled Same thing no scout gps app and help? Mine 2015 Highlander hybrid limited

It's best to speak to your local Toyota dealership's technology or service department so they can physically go through the process with you, and confirm whether or not it's possible.

@@torihaisha5497 Hi Tori! The navigation system does grey out some options while in motion; however, you can always use your voice command (the speaking button on the steering wheel- the one you use to call someone). Click the button, wait for the beep, then say a phrase such as "delete destination" or "take me to Tim Hortons". If you click the voice command button and say 'navigation', some command suggestions for the navigation system will appear on the screen! I hope this helps :)

I was in Amarillo TX and needed to get to a hotel just east of Dallas. There was no way I could get my 2019 Highlander GPS to not try to route me through Oklahoma City. Awful system.

We are sorry to hear that. The newer systems do have enhanced functionality and many work with other apps like Waze,etc. through Apple CarPlay or Android Auto which should improve your ability to change routes. Thank you
