I hate that the cameramen/women fixate on Simone on the sidelines constantly and sticking cameras in the faces of the girls when they made errors(ie Morgan Hurd after her floor routine). So rude..When Simone goes backstage just to get away from them they should get the hint.. And the commentary? Tim D especially comparing every other gymnast and their routines to Simone -yeah, she’s the GOAT but all these women -how do you think that makes them feel, Tim? They all work incredibly hard to get here- give them some respect.

Unfortunately the camera folks have a job they are required- not asked, required- to do. Most of them will tell you they’d rather give the athletes space when they’ve had a rough go but are under orders from the broadcast network to get the shots. It does stink but it’s the network, not the videographers that have no respect. It’s the same in every sport you see.

We also don't need to know that .Simone came from a broken home and the reason why and the kids were raised by grandparents. None of that is our business.

@@lindaclarkq8326well kind of hard to complain about that when Simone herself wrote a book and then had a movie based off that book made based off her Olympic journey and explained how it almost never happened and explained how if not for her grandparents especially when her grandmother is not her blood grandmother shows that she wanted the world to know how much she truly appreciated all that they gave up for her and her sister to become the woman she is today and you can’t fault that…they are amazing grandparents and deserve their flowers for all they have done and still do for Simone.

@@alexj442 probably beam, and I knew that but never fully realized it until reading ur comment! She does a double layout dismount on floor now obviously but that is still crazy, not sure if anyone has even done that before.

As incredible an athlete as Morgan Hurd was, you could see the cracks in the armor by this point. She will always be able to say she is a world AA champion but sadly (as much as I’d love to see it) the Olympics will probably never happen for her. Same with Kara Eaker- gorgeous skills but I don’t think it’ll happen for her either By contrast, Leanne Wong has just gotten better as time has passed. I can definitely see her potential for Paris next year. Jordan Chiles has become one of my absolute favorite gymnasts, such a fantastic leader and inspiration for the other girls! It’s been wonderful to see videos of Riley McCusker in action this year. She seems so much happier now with a better coach.
