[2019 UPDATE] In-Depth Tour of My MASSIVE Elevator Part Collection!

This video is about all the elevator parts I have collected over the years, ranging from buttons to floor indicators to direction lanterns! Most of my parts were given to me by big elevator companies like OTIS, ThyssenKrupp, and Schindler. The rest of my parts were traded with other elevator enthusiasts, given to me by local elevator companies, or from modernization projects/demolition sites. I’ve been collecting parts for a long time. I got my first part back in 2009 but I didn’t start collecting big-time until 2012. I'm very proud of my collection and what it’s come to be. I aim to eventually get one of everything, even if that means I have to start putting stuff on the ceiling. I apologize that this video is so long, but I wanted to get everything! I hope you guys enjoy this long long video!

According to the techs, some other people who were working there didn’t know about us getting the parts, so it was scrapped. There are 2 panels preserved but are not for sale.

Very interesting. Quite a bit of variety between different elevator buttons. I must say though that the thing at 11:01 is actually not a heat sink. It is most likely a selenium rectifier. It's basically a diode, used in the good ole days before P/N type material was discovered. And holy crap your collection is huge! Honestly I couldn't live with that many parts even though I like elevators! BTW you using 120VAC with some of those parts?

Is your favorite color blue? You’ve made so many blue. I’ve pressed that St. Paul Macy’s COP so many times when I was a kid. I went to visit my dad all the time when he worked around there and we would always park at Macy’s and ride those elevators. Also, what are some parts that you really want and don’t have? dude you have a huge collection... :D I do too, but mine is such a mess and doesn't look anywhere near as good as yours. I just don't have the time to organize it and even wire things up like you do. :( Hopefully sometime in the near future I can change that though. ;)

It's amazing! It's impressive how much you have... It's impressive how much you know about all of it... It's impressive that you've wired so much of it up. And then the St. Paul downtown Dayton's (I know you said Macy's... but it'll always be Dayton's to me) COP shows up in your collection. Undoubtedly I've touched that dozens and dozens of times over the years. (Don't worry. I wash my hands... sometimes...)
