Was just gonna say the same. Not a fan of hole 11 for example. They could have marked the areas better by cutting the grass longer on OB, or painting the line a bit thicker etc. The beans hole (9?) is another great example of this.

European Open marked OB with thick stakes and a chalk line about 3 inches wide. Worked super well both on coverage and live at the course! They should definitely consider chalking the OB lines at USDGC as well

Love the coverage, Jomez! As always! But does anyone else feel that this course isn't very enjoyable to watch. Seems like the OB is chosen rather arbitrarily. I understand the PDGA is trying to challenge these guys, but I'd much rather watch a course that naturally forces precise shots rather than one that's manufactured with tons of stakes and lines drawn across otherwise open fairways. As a (youtube) spectator, I have a lot of trouble discerning good shots from bad ones, cause it seems the OB/hazard is drawn all over the place. The drone flyover and the course preview vid helped a bit, and of course BigSexy is there to fill in with descriptions of the holes, but I find these vids a lot harder to watch compared to some of the other events. Nothing to do with the coverage, just want to hear other people's thoughts on this style of course.

Completely agree. It is very difficult to follow what is in or out of bounds because of the way the stakes are laid out. Even Jeremy and Nate have difficulty distinguishing it at times. I would think even live spectators might have some trouble on some holes. This is totally due to the course design. It is pretty sad. Really appreciate the coverage and commentary, though.

It's not the PDGA who designs these courses. If you watch Spin's coverage they interview the course designers. Basically I think it is mostly up to the TD to ok changes. It looked like most of the players were confused about what was in and what was out. You should be able to see a distance line marking OB. The stakes were a joke and also interfered with several discs. Adding the posts in front of several of the baskets is basically a lack of imagination and doing something stupidly simple to make a hole harder. The players should be given room for advising on what works and what doesn't. By making the holes longer and harder we will start seeing more injuries and more frustrated players.

I gotta say, this is probably the least eye-catching course of the year. There's basically grass, hard to see OB, road/parking lots and curbs. Some bits of lake, but overall it's not really that pretty. but thanks for the Sexting Kolon commentary.

The 9-12 section isn't great, but I really like the rest of the course. It's been around for a long time and they're updating it every year in order to continue to challenge the world's top players.

I know they were using rope before. They should honestly s just paint the OB. It’s just grass. Not like it would be permanent or anything but would be a lot easier so spectators to understand the shots

Still so difficult to visually understand the OB on many of the holes on back 9. Hole 11 Calvin's drive is to the right of the stakes, but in hazard. Cam's drive is to the left but inbounds. No visual context for why that is so. It's not Jomez' responsibility to provide that context, nor is it the usdgc designers' (unless they want to attract and reward video spectators); nonetheless, it's still frustrating. (I've got the caddy book open so I get it, but the lack of visually indicative OB is frustrating.

The random OB marked by stakes is confusing on video. Premium landing zones are just marked OB for no reason. This is always a must watch event every year but this year is a let down course wise

Awesome coverage! Love the professional commentator backdrop and the added explanation of the putt! I would personally enjoy the coverage more if Jeremy didn’t talk about his own scores so much. It’s nice to hear a pro’s perspective but he seams too concerned about his own performance. Maybe it just stands out more because he’s contrasted against the incredibly humble Nate. Also one tiny change I would love to see for the graphics would be the addition of the player’s place in the tournament after they putt. I always seem to look for it when they putt but then have to wait until the next hole to see it. Nothing major just a bit of feedback.

Always love bigsexy commentary with that reliable JoMezPro quality production. One thing I'd like to see in the future though is a little bit clearer description of what's OB. Holes 11 and 12 are super confusing for the viewer with just a field full of white posts. Maybe I'm asking a little much but I think overlayed cgi highlighted OB areas would be awesome. Just a thought.
