haterzmakeifamos a well designed car doesn’t need a long warranty to sell. The fact that VW advertises it so hard makes me think something isn’t right. Once they sell you the car their part is over. Sure you can bring it in for warranty work, you always run the chance of a shitty SA telling you “this is normal” and not covering it under warranty, wether it be something minor like a quality issue or major like oil consumption. Almost every car I’ve had that was advertised with a long warranty had more issues than the normal 36/36 cars.

Wow Winding you are my new KZbin car channel hero as you are the only one I have seen driving a base S trim with this very nice 6 speed manual. So easy to use and highly recommended for a new driver wanting to learn manual transmissions. The quality is perfect on mine and right at 11,000 miles zero issues so far. Still averaging about 36 MPG which includes my spirited driving so that is great. Honestly with the manual and running premium fuel it feels quite a bit pepper than the auto version due to I think the ECU giving me a bit more timing and boost when it senses the lack of knock. Plus at 2900 pounds and with the 184 foot pounds of torque coming in at 1800 rpms she is real easy and run around town and onramps. That rev hang does kinda suck but makes it easier for new drivers. With the new warranty this is really I feel the best option in this category looks way better than the competitors. Nice video, keep up the awesomeness...

I like the looks of the Jetta. I will probably shop the Jetta and Golf If I buy a new car. The cars with dual injection or just multiport injection , are at the top of my list if I finance. If I lease the Jetta or Golf has a better chance of happening. No way VW could make the Car in Germany ship it here and compete in the low price class. Made in Mexico doesn't bother me. The factory is Good and their is enough focus on quality, the car will be good. However, with the focus on hitting the numbers to show high productivity in todays world, it is amazing how anything works at all. Workers are under pressure to overlook problems with quality in order to hit the numbers. I am sure this also has an effect on car quality and the quality of the parts that go into the cars.

weird rev hang, but with DSG transmission it's completly fine, ride pleasant and smooth. Engine warms up really fast even with super low outside temperatures (-35F)

I know those are not wheel covers but they look cheap. I have a 2017 Jetta 1.8 TSI I would not trade it in for this car. I have 170HP with 187 ft lb torque this 2019 Jetta is anemic with 147HP plus no matter which one you buy you still get 147HP the engine is the same across the line. I see a mid cycle refresh for this car really soon. Hopefully they upgrade the HP and bring back the DSG transmission.

I drove a 1.8tsi, it has such a wide torque shelf and the turbine spins up quickly that it doesn't care which gear to go in 100 km / h: 3 or 6, you just might not feel it.

It's the base model. Dunno why - as an automaker - they wouldn't send out top of the line models instead. Might've been deliberate cause the S trim (in this video) is the only one that offers a 6MT. You can definitely get a nicer looking one by going up the trims. Same applies for all the other compact sedans out there.

svenskfox I’ve had a 2010 GTI, 2013 GLI, and 2015 GTI. For some reason I don’t really care for the exterior or interior of this car at all. I didn’t mind the bit of cheapness in the 2013 GLI. They did a good job of eliminating it (for the most part) in GLI guise. But honestly, the way this car looks, I don’t see it even in a GLI. Maybe it is a personal thing, but I’ve never liked cars with small quarter rear windows. I think that has a lot to do with it. Oh well, I guess I’m getting older now, and if I want another sort of sedan version of the GTI, I’ll just get an S3.

Orange is not a good color for this car in S trim. I like VW, but I do not agree with the use of the 1.4t in this car, especially if it's the only engine choice. Sad to say, but VW has posture the Jetta for rental fleet sales, right along side the Altima. I understand cost cutting and the need to make profit, but if products are not desirable, even at low cost points, ppl won't buy them; and sadly the passat is going down the same road. Hopefully VW brass find better motivation and design to invigorate the product line.

Not a problem with me, I like long throw shifters, makes you feel like you're doing something with the added benefit of pretty much always knowing exactly which gear you're going into. @@kamil5384 craftsmanship of interior is high on Golf, all well thought and designed to German perfection standards ))) Check it out yourself at any VW dealership, sit in cheap piece of shit Jetta and then jump in Golf right after - what a difference ! VW has two bad ass cars : Golf and Touareg, sadly with later being discontinued for USA market in favor of junk Atlas. The only other hatchback that can remotely compete with Golf by interior quality and comes to mind is maybe Mazda 3 Hatchback Grand Touring 😀 Dont forget VW is Audis father and one company :) In some models like Golf and Touareg it gets very close to Audi level :) p.s. i dont own a Golf just sharing the observations, own an old first gen Touareg though and learned to appreciate the attention to detail VW puts in some of its models. Been looking at small hatchbacks for past year and from all only Golf and Mazda 3 impressed with quality of interior. Soft plastic, knobs that feel good to touch and in right easy to reach places, that click nicely when you turn them and dont feel like an cheap chinese made appliance (honda, toyota, and korean cars). Arm rest that extends and is height adjustable. Things like that really bring the feeling its a true German car, maybe not fancy from outside but it does feel very premium inside and how it rides ... amazing little cars ! The only concern is past warranty, kinda pricey to fix. No Japanese or Korean car makers compete interior and detail wise, other than Mazda maybe. Mazda is also kinda cool tbh, good effort on interior quality part

People don´t realize Jetta´s have NEVER been luxury cars. They´re simple compact sedans with a more subdued and elegant look than your average Sentra or Corolla. At 16k this car is not bad at all. Paying over 25k doesn´t make sense. Stick with the base or mid level range.
