I love the interior on this car, improved literally everything about the MK6 interior. Screen and driver controls in general are so much easier to see and physically interact with. Call it basic but I say it has everything you realistically need

I rented a 2019 a year ago for a few days with the auto. I was really impressed with it. Very quiet, smooth ride and comfortable seats. Yeah, its pretty basic by today's standards, but I've have much more bare bones cars in the 90s and early 2000s. I'm actually considering a 2021. They're one of the few new cars that dealers generally don't add on thousands in dealer markup to in this chip shortage times. I just need a reasonably comfy, economical, simple car with a decent warranty.

I see merit to this but I baught one of these because I like them and the other reason I went new is because I love the idea of being the only person to maintain it. I've had loads of used cars with no issue but the new cars I've had I loved being the sole person who maintained the car.

Dont understand all the hate on this car. I bought a 2020 manual and it's a blast. I've had miatas, fiat 500 turbos and when my daughter was born needed something bigger but I wanted to keep a lot of the fun driving dynamics and this car kept a lot of that for me all while driving a reasonable dad car. Is it a track star ? Probably not without a little help but is it super fun to drive around the twisties of WV ? Hell yes lol

Manual ANYTHING is pretty good! As another person mentioned in the comments, the simplicity is strangely attractive. My wife and I had a 1990 Jetta (black with a manual) back in the early 90’s. We put about a million really hard miles on that old car. Loved it! Even though it was pretty slow, it really was great to drive. I also owned an 85 Scirroco (a black manual) in the 80’s. Really loved that car.

The Jetta has become so cheap and boring, but it's hard to deny the value here. It's really amazing to see how inexpensive the Jetta has become. I remember my family buying a 2006 Jetta Value Edition in 2005. One of the first on the lot. The car had an MSRP of around $18,000. In today's prices, that would be nearly $23,000.

Here in the UK my parents spent £5500 on a 2009 BMW 3 series the average budget between £2000 to £3000 at least for the working class my dad's car technically has the stereotypes of BMWs being expensive to fix but I think like any car a good used warranty should cover the costs :)

For those of you who call this car "boring," VW tried to "upmarket" the Jetta with the Mk5 models. It didn't work so well, and went against the history of the Jetta. So they went down to a more market friendly, i.e. boring, people's car type product. I've had Mk2, Mk3, and I failed to get a Mk4, as it's my favourite model. Especially in GLI trim. Funny note, they've had that same damn door open/key in chime for 30 years! LOL

If you are thinking to buy a new VW JETTA 2019, think twice. I bought this car in May 2019. The 8 speed automatic transmission, beside making a grinding noise when is driving at a constant speed of 30 to 40 miles per hour (+/_ 1,200 RPM), make an annoying vibration. The service department and the VW representative said that the vibration and noise are normal. I think this is the most ridiculos answer that I ever heard from a car manufacturer. I when to different VW dealers and drove a brand new car and all have the same problem. Be careful when you test it, maybe you will not notice it at the beginning. Just type in Google "Jetta 2019 transmission problems" and you will see. Pd: This happens on roads not very steep as we have in florida. Thanks

but every trim above this forces you into an auto trans. Is the $3.5k price jump worth it? Comparing to an SE/R-Line/SEL is the only way to really know. Cheap, inexpensive cars don't have to be "cheap" or featureless; they just won't have a many features as higher priced/trimmed cars. Eric Janowski interesting. I had a Mazda 3 and yeah, that was a great car to drive. It got broken into and the street of New York destroyed that car and in a sense I miss it too. I told the guy thanks for nothing. The easiest and most gratifying mod that you can do to any vehicle is the stereo. I doubt you have ever heard a real system if you’re even slightly amused by any stock stereo. There is no stock stereo that sounds like a 1990s custom system with American made amplifiers with High end components. A little knowledge and 1000 bucks will destroy the stereo system of every manufacturer at any price range. Food for thought

1)Low cruising rpm ( for my opinion 1.500 is a little low) , drop just one gear. 2) nice rev match!!! A) My Fiat 500 two cylinder engine with 875cc and 85 hp has the worst rev hang in first gear, it redlines way too fast! B) When you change gears the rpm drps way too slow, i don't know why but in both of our cars ( Alfa romeo 159 and a Hyundai Getz ) it started like that and then during gear changing the rps were droping way faster. I think it has something to do with the clutch. If anyone knows please reply ! Really nice video man !

Have you felt any type of spring feel on the clutch pedal as you press or release the pedal? I'm having that looked into but don't know if it's a normal feel for this car. Also, does the car sound loud when you first turn it on? I know the secondary air comes on when a cold start up happens but it developed this louder noise at start up that sounds like it has a tiny hole in the exhaust but goes away after 20 seconds or so when the air pump shuts down.
@JFosterArt

@__-fm5qv 6 жыл бұрын
@@chocolatewheelchair What do you mean by where you "should" shift? If you mean, "If you want to extend the life of you engine and transmission, you should shift at around 2500 rpm." Then you'd be partially correct. Generally that is a nice rpm to shift at in most cars to keep the rpm low and reduce wear. But, if you're flooring it to 2500, then your still beating up you engine for no reason. So the full answer would be to drive it gently to 2000-2500 rpm (depending on the ratios on your car) before shifting up. However, if question is "Where should you shift for maximum acceleration?". Then the answer would at redline. Which is why I say it depends how aggressively your driving and what you want from the car. Where you shift is entirely dependent on situation, what you want to do, and how you want to drive.
@panoscoach310

He doesn't know how to shift a manual gearbox. It's not about the revs, you never ever press the gas pedal while you shifting like you playing gran turismo. Also you have to move gently the shifter due gear changes.
