@@muphmangler5673 alot harder than it looks, we have 10 pin aswell and it's way easier to score high game in 10 pin than 5 pin.

At our local alley, sometimes the pinsetter sets the 3 pins slightly off spot, so you don't get a strike, you get 13 , 75 percent of the time, not sure why that happens, we use the Schmidt SW 1 machines

The guard of pinsetter slide along guidance system (like a guillotine) or pivotates like PBL string Pinsetter? How pinsetter is used?

The host - Heritage Lanes - has the Schmid SW1. The shield is attached to a double arm which pivots on an axis above and in front of the headpin. Given how the advertising on the shields was set up, gravity keeps the shield kind of perpendicular to the lane surface for the machine cycle.

the pin value is 2,3,5,3,2 and fellow the same rules for strike and spare. So 15 instead of 10 with a max score of 450 instead of 300. The other difference is u do have 3rd ball for finishing a frame.

To The PBL String Pinsetter, the guard gives the impression that slide, but it pivotates.

Do they need to re-rack everytime?

The pins are held by strings. So when one is knocked down it gets pulled up to the top and the other pins are set back on the lane for the next shot.

Do they oil the lanes? If so, why? I'm sure it's tougher than it looks, but too arcade-like for me

Some alleys will put a small amount of oil on the lanes. In terms of toughness of the sport, its 100x tougher than 10 pin bowling. Very rare to get a perfect game. I bowled for 17 years and never saw one bowled. Knew of 2 people who had bowled one and came relatively close myself but even some "pro" 5 pin bowlers don't have perfect games

It's way easier to bowl a high game in 10 pin. Have to remember a perfect game is 450. So these games in equivalent to 10 pin would be less than a 200.

Dude... as an American, if you're dissing poutine, you've immediately lost the argument. And small ball bowling is purer bowling - sure a child can roll the ball, but a smaller ball also makes it harder to knock pins down, obviously!
