I LOVE the Laphroaig 10 Cask Strength (Batch 010) which has a red stripe across the label. This looks like batch 011 with the green stripe.. I am curious as to how they compare.

I kinda love the fact that on year 3 of my whiskey advent journey with the Vault... Daniel goes right back to the, film it and post it method I started doing and moved away from as I got used to editing. I couldn't find the cask strength Laphroaig, but I did the higher proof Cardias Fino Cask finished Laphroaig I have from last year. It's on my list simply because my father and I got into whiskey partially by testing out what Laphroaig tastes like. ;)

First, I just want to say, I've grown to love you and Rex. Second, I totally get the same melodical vibes from the cask strength. I got a strong Hospital nose, but the flavor was AMAZING. The mouth gave me a sweet clementine, and Smokey vanilla, and the proof said "I might be sweet but I'm still here" Definitely a slow sipper. Good for a Christmas Eve by the fireplace.

Love Leonard Cohen! I usually enjoy Tom Waits with Laphroaig, and now I'm wondering what whiskey "sounds" closer to Waits if not Laphroaig (maybe just a different release of Laphroaig?)

My impression side by siding Cask Strength 10 to regular was that it just felt like more. The flavors were fuller, but they were the same for me.

Just had the 2021 and it is an amazing poor. I knew it was my new favorite Islay when my wife insisted on tasting it and said she got punched in the nose with ash and swamp.

I went to my local whiskey bar this weekend and ordered a Laphroaig 10. They were out of it. So I ordered a Talisker. They were out of that too. I ended up drinking Glenfiddich. I was hoping to try a peaty Islay which is why I ordered Laphroaig (the only scotches I've had have been Speysides and Highlands).

I like the cask strength L10 a lot more than the standard. I don't get the medicinal notes in the CS version that I normally get from the standard version.

The pricing market for the base 10 yr is way inflated locally for me. Like my total wine here has a load of their range... but the 10 starts just over 50 bucks. The 10CS, only 10 bucks more. Why the HECK would I EVER buy the 10 for that price difference? Not that I'm really much into laphroaig when I also have Ardbeg and Port Charlotte in those price ranges, but the 10CS is a great drink for the price. Looking forward to the coming days, some really amazing favorites of mine coming up. Can't wait to hear the musical associations coming up. I'm going to have to start jotting down some of these comparisons and look up these artists on my paternity leave next month.

Can't wait to try this one! Batches 009 and 010 were fantastic! Best bang for the buck under $75. By the way the worst bang for the buck under $75 is Lagavulin 16... and sometimes it's over $75, what a joke!

We had it at 44€ in Spain for a while but now the laga is going up nobody seems to stop it, I think it's already at 66€ while the distillers edition is between 78 and 88€

Just had the Laphroaig Cask Strength batch 011 and it's great!... right in line with batches 009 and 010. Batch 010 is still my favorite but I can't wait to see what happens to this new batch 011 once it's had a chance to open for a few weeks/months. Love it!!!

The thing I get with most islays is a marzipan flavor. And this one turns that up to 100. The smoky marzipan is just so addicting. I can barely enjoy non islay whiskys because they just feel bland to me.
