For all the people that keep saying remove the exhaust valve, graves works closley with yamaha and actually has the option for it in its exhaust systems as it can be also be mapped and calibrated in a separate ecu flash purchased from graves “to help with low end torque, and throttle response at low engine speeds”. The graves racing team use this setup on their race bikes its called the EVR system, the full system comes with an exhaust valve in it and operated by the stock servo motor, just optimized in separate flash that is purchased along side the exhaust. This guy needs that software to control the valve properly.

I didn’t make the claims, graves did. I was just responding to why this system still had the valve. I dont use the valve on my bike. I have an akrapovic header into an SC project CRT high mount.

I would love for you to (time) the hp curve. Two bikes can make the same overall horsepower. If one have a lighter drivetrain and possibly carbon fiber Wheels. It's going to ramp up to its highest horsepower, much quicker than a stock wheel bike.

I know removing the flap gives u sensor error but maybe you can just cut of the circle or remove the screws holding it to the shaft. That should get rid of the restriction

Chris, you need some special sticky dyno sauce. That & maybe warming up the tires. I have watched the majority of your Dyno sessions. Great content. I can see a lot of slipping from the tire to the dyno. Really hard to say how much power you're putting into these bikes. I know the results are still going to be good. I'm sure the horsepower / torque readings on your Dyno is much lower due to all that slipping.

Personally I'm not shocked, I've seen an older R1 hurt feelings wit a head port, pistons(Carrillo rods) & a 50 shot. He shut down a lot of ppl, me included. That bike made me get a big bore kit. Great video as usual bruh ✊🏿✊🏿

@@rodneyhickman598 We run a Honda 1000rr turbo 240hp stock motor 11psi boost c16 vp gas. Now we have a race motor , STOTZ RACING 30psi! Yet to Dyno . Looking for 400hp. Can make more but the stock transmission is a risky # $$$$! Love R1.

Get rid of the Breadbox/Catalytic Converter. A mid pipe eliminates the exhaust EXUP Valve which would fix the power dip at lower RPM's.

full system is a complete waste on any r1 after like 02 moves all the power up top and even then it only gains like 2hp max and drops torque below 10k rpm

Hey, that's a great way to make this a beginner bike. Keep the exhaust valve closed. LOL! YO, you said the 19's and 20's perma-gimped their low-end, does that mean that 09-14, or at least the 15-18 are G2G with full range exhaust valve programming?

I think it might have a dip in power in the low rpm because the exup valve has been removed. Thats the purpose of the exup valve. to create low end torque , you can work round this by richening up the fuel below the 7000 rpm and bfor the engine ecu goes into closed loop, however it will not be as much torque in the 1000 t0 7000 range as if the exhaust valve is present . If anyone knows a little more i would like to know . Im not an expert on the R1 and i'm working on my own exhaust system cat delete but welding the exup valve back in to the custom made pipes ive got .

Air fuel ratio's should be consistent with stoichiometry. Though I agree air fuel ratios, throttle percentages and don't forget about ignition timing would be nice.
