Just to share experience riding this with 400cc above group. Definitely felt left out during open road. But on the twisties if u had a big ball boleh la acah acah kejar dorg. In terms of power, or those "kaki top speed" 250cc definitely a better buy. But for those yg nak nmpk acah² pakai serupabike tp nak jimat minyak n maintainance like a kapchai, this r15 is a good buy. Plus its fun riding slow bike fast than riding fast bike slow. Haha

Tested my friend's R1S the other day, and all i can say is, its very sporty for its class. Ive never ridden a sub 250ccc bike, especially a single cylinder that needed revs to get going, except 2 strokes haha, and it was fun ! It encourages you to take corners faster due to the riding position, and it makes you learn to keep the rpm boiling since its not strong at low rpm. And with the slipper clutch, you definitely not afraid to mess up a downshift or two until you nailed it perfectly. Such an amazing little sporty machine for people who wants to learn to go fast around corners. My only gripe with it is, it should've been a 200cc to make it competitive with KTM Rc200, and pulsar rs200. More punch from bigger cc. And since its not even a 150cc ( its 155 ), it doesnt makes sense for it not being 200cc, if im not mistaken, the roadtax bracket for 155cc is already counted as 200cc. And the price is already the same as 200cc too.
@thesighbored3 жыл бұрын
Maybe Yammy was lazy to develop a proper 200 just jack the NVX engine put it in as the heart of the R15 easier job like that.. Otherwise we could be looking at a 200cc NVX? That would be nice.. Also by doing so they are disturbing their 250 range bikes.. Just my guess..
@iodineclip3 жыл бұрын
@@thesighbored agreed. Probably stuck it as 155cc to sold it internationally too, as in indonesia, where maybe the lower the cc, the lower the tax. But they do have the 125cc version for UK market. Oh well it is wht it is then haha And yeahh i think the 250cc market could use a little spice. Being stagnant for quite some time already.

ZX-25R could be the spice for 250 class.. Pricey but spicy.. Haha

its my third bike for fun ride with friends and its actually a nice bike, i used it daily and even for long trip. its not really make your ass riped for long trip, just carefull with the accelaration if you first have sport bike cause you will feel like big bike on the road. its fun to ride but when you play with higher cc like 250 or 200 then you'll try to catch them. for cornering this bike is really top notch, i really like the mobility of this bike. ride safe guys, enjoy the bike.

aiyo unker sighbot dah review r15, I owned this bike since launch (around Feb 2019). I'm 21 now, retty good bike to rip around town and have some safe (relatively hehe) highway hooligan fun with my friends. going to class is good too since I can lane split when I wake up late and the fc is very good. 20 ringgit can last me a week and a half, only problem is takda bumbung so every time hujan kena basah. but i guess i made that decision a long time ago. so its best that prospectus owners to get a gf with a car :) Definitely looking to get something with a bit more power once i graduate uni, the new husqvarna coming in to malaysia looks like my sort of thing.

Yes call me unker.. Haha.. Thanks for sharing your feedback looks like a good bike for young people or beginners to riding.. Who says biker can't get GF.. This will be a really fun bike on a kart track. To solve the soft front suspension, you can use more viscous fork oil or change to a higher spring rate. Nice R1S. 😛
@thesighbored Жыл бұрын
Yup can swap in thicker/heavier fork oil to stiffen up the suspension, that is the cheaper option than swapping out springs, if the heavier oil is not enough, then can opt to change the springs..
I'm not sure if they have the CBR150 in Malaysia will need to check..
@shermanlo18803 жыл бұрын
Hey, just wanna ask, I understand that the bike comes with its default exhaust and you have an akrapovic exhaust on (which btw is really sick looking). Does it have any difference performance?
@thesighbored3 жыл бұрын
From what I understood the bike had a minor tune after installing that full system aftermarket exhaust, so there is a slight performance improvement but since there's still a lot more to do, such as performance air filter, race spark plugs, etc.. Personally as standard it's pretty good no need to mess too much with it.. Performance gains are little with every step you do to get the big gain at the end of it all.

ik it's pretty late but may i know if it is a must for you to dyno or reset the air and fuel settings of the bike after replacing the stock exhaust with an aftermarket one?
@thesighbored Жыл бұрын
If you just swap out the end muffler keeping the stock pipes and headers as plug and play, normally it should be OK, but if you modified the system such as chopping the pipes or a full system.. Then it's advisable to get it dyno-ed and tuned. If you are unsure you can always get it dyno-ed first and see the result, not necessarily need to tune if you just want to dyno it.

For newbies better go for this bike against 250, especially transitions to fairings bike from moped. You will learn a lot on what to do and what no to do before upgrading to higher CC's (cornering, rev match and etc). Plus side owning this wouldn't hurt your pocket at all even to use it daily. Good fuel consumption and moped-like maintenance cost. Of course the major down side is on the speed, which I don't think a huge problem. Just my 2 cents, better to skip 250 if all you need is better speed.

@thesighbored3 жыл бұрын
If it's your first time, you will probably feel some aches as your body is not conditioned yet, but after a few times you should get used to it. Even though the forward lean is not as much as sports bike but if you practice using your lower body/core then you won't feel the fatigue that much. The naked bike position will definitely be more comfortable.

Bro nak tanya, kalau r15 ni standard kilang bleh terus letak ekzos aftermarket ke? Kalau moped cam ysuku ni kena modified dlu baru bleh tukar exhaust. Kalau yamaha r15 ni engine x sentuh still bleh tukar trus ke ekzos akropovic tu?
@thesighbored2 жыл бұрын
@farshouko1432 жыл бұрын
@@thesighbored apa contoh brand slip on yang dh direka khas untuk r15 ni?
@thesighbored2 жыл бұрын

Even at my height of 169cm I have to tip-toe cause this bike's seat height is quite high, so you will probably need some practice handling the bike when not moving, otherwise I don't see any issue.

I would say yes you can, you just have to tip-toe or learn the technique for shorter riders to adapt in handling the bike

Can I put size 150 for rear tire?

I think you can, not 100% sure, but it's probably going to make the bike perform slower since will be heavier

I thought the seat height for R15 v3 was 815mm? BTW, why does the R15 v3 seat height looks shorter than mt 25 even though it's said to be 780mm?
@thesighbored3 жыл бұрын
That's what the spec said.. Having sat on both I feel the R15 is a little higher than the MT-25.
@brahmsboi60263 жыл бұрын
r15 seat is higher and mt 15 even higher than r15. depends on your height lah

The R15 is very popular here in Vietnam

That's good.. It's a nice looking bike and rides good too
@huynhxuanviet98183 жыл бұрын
@@thesighbored Unfortunately, its popularity among younger, under-matured riders has made it to be considered trashy by people who rides bigger bikes who thought of it as kinda like a paper tiger, only looks, no power under.
@thesighbored3 жыл бұрын
Well it's not nice to judge but sometimes it's easy for people to stereotype.. Sometimes those with the big bikes can't even ride as well as the ones on smaller bikes..

@@thesighbored Totally agrees with you on this matter mate. Hope you could produce more reviews of products and bikes in the future after all of this Covid senanigans is over. is this bike suitable for 180cm riders?
@thesighbored Жыл бұрын
I don't think it will be a problem for taller riders, maybe the bike size might be slightly small but the ride height should still be OK
@afproduction18133 жыл бұрын
Tinggi 184cm sesuai tak bawa r15 ni? 😌
@thesighbored3 жыл бұрын
Saya rasa tak ada masalah, moto ni seat pun tinggi sikit, jika perlu, boleh cari foot peg / rear-set aftermarket yang adjustable untuk tukar posisi foot peg lebih selesa.
@sambawolf91903 жыл бұрын
I'm the same height as u & I also semi tiptoe on the bike. I just bought the rear lowering kit and my plan nak lowerkan depan belakang so kaki boleh pijak flat. Should I or should I not?
@thesighbored3 жыл бұрын
Don't do it.. Flat footing is not a must-have.. Practice more and you will adapt to handling the bike without needing to flat foot. If you mod the height and suspension you will disturb the bike's setting and handling which the factory designers had calculated for the bike..

But why would you do the a2 or a driver license to ride a 150ccm bike You can also do A1 and ride a 125ccm it is nearly the same
@thesighbored3 жыл бұрын
The license class and bracket is different in Malaysia. B2 - anything below 250cc; B - unlimited.
