This looks so delicious I would like to try and make this. Are there different ways of making Osechi?
@Mikaela_Westmt5 жыл бұрын
Actually, yes. Every Japanese region and even every family makes it differently, and also add different food in osechi boxes. 😉

@@Mikaela_Westmt Hello. Is Osechi made for special occasions or is it made if a family just wants to have a meal that is different?

I bought a fat daikon at the grocery store and the cashier rang it up as a yucca root instead and that made it cheaper but still probably more than it would cost in japan
So impressive! Keep up the good work! I’m sure your family is ever so grateful for you. Have a good day!

Is that sugar in the black beans at the beginning? And why do you add a rusted iron nail?
@AFarmerCalledChicken5 жыл бұрын
There's a lot of old stories for adding a nail or even a horseshoe to pots while cooking. I think it was believed to give you Iron, or to make you stronger. I can't really remember.
Sugar at every dish! That’s gonna be pretty sweet 🤮

Why did you use milk carton as a chopping board ?
@fuzzyx2face2 жыл бұрын
I think their meats come in that cardboard container, I always see her cutting her meat on them, it looks like a milk carton to people in north America but I think they use that type of container at their grocery store when the butcher gives you the meats you buy
