2020 - 2022 Hyundai Palisade - How to Unlock, Open & Start With Dead Remote Key Fob Battery

A video tutorial on how to unlock, open and start a 2020 - 2022 Hyundai Palisade that has a dead key battery or a remote key fob that isn't working. There is an emergency key located in the bottom of your Hyundai Palisade remote key fob. You will remove the key from the remote key fob and use it in key cylinder located on the Hyundai Palisade driver's door. Then you will need to start your Hyundai Palisade by using the nose of the key fob to press the Palisade's Stop/Start button.
This tutorial will show you how to open, unlock and start a vehicle with a dead key battery or remote key fob that isn't working on the following Hyundai models:

Thank you so much for this! I opened my locked vehicle thanks to this video. As I was putting the cap back on the handle, it broke. My dealer wanted to charge me over $100 in parts and labor arguing they had to take the door handle apart in order to put the cap back on. Had I not seen this video I would have fallen for this!

Thank you for this video. I was looking into how to do this because I have dogs and sometimes need to leave them in the car with the A/C running. Unfortunately the Palisade doesn't allow me to lock the doors and leave the car running if I step out of it. This is a big flaw in my opinion. I read on a forum that I could lock the car, step out and then use the manual key to lock the door. But geez, now have to deal with the alarm too!!! This is honestly ridiculous. Car manufacturers should realize sometimes we need to leave dogs, kids, elderly parents in the car for a few minutes and we shouldn't have to leave the car running and unlocked, where anyone could jump in and drive off with our car and dogs, kids or parents! I love my car, but won't buy another one if they don't fix this feature.

great video - I had not been able to do this until seeing your detailed instructions. The only difference was that I could not get my index finger into the hole to push off the cover, but my pinky worked fine. So now I am ready in case of a problem with the remote or the car battery. Thanks!

Hey thanks for this. Have a new hyundai custin, all the other videos show the type where you use the key to pop out the keyhole cover. Even calling the service reps didnt help, as this model is fairly new here in the philippines. Strange, the vehicle is only 1 month old. Not sure if the key fob battery or the car battery is at fault. But it miraculously started again after i was able to open the automatic sliding doors. Felt like it just reset itself

There is a chip in the key the vehicle can read if it is held close enough, even if the key has no power

Better to tell people to use the logo on the key to push the button. “Top” is subjective and most every key manufacturer puts the transponder near to the logo
