@@offgridwanabe I have the 2k on a 240v circuit, deliberately underpowered with 1.5kw of panels which have yet to hit 900w with all the {expletive} neighboring trees. No batteries yet, maybe one day. My hope / theory is that the GTIL will not be strained and have a nice long life. Summer AC aside my house draw is 300-600W after optimization which is great and so far (touch wood) the GTIL has worked great, with one minor anomaly where I was unable to navigate the menu structure; the back and forward wouldn't work until I power cycled it, which I'm assuming a software bug. That has only happened once, and hopefully that's the most it ever does as I've heard bad (melty) things from those push them hard. I installed it in September so a sunny hot summer has yet to come! If you go SolArk or Pip and the device can limit I'm sure many here would be interested in a video on it.

My system has two different battery systems but the sun inverters are on the 40 volt system which is the big battery bank. I only allow 850 watts on the limiter to ensure they don't overheat and to not kill the battery too fast even though the bank is 60 kwh I only let the sun inverters take it down to about 50% so I always have power in grid down time. Also in winter I can never get the bank fully charged unless I shut off inverters so I run it back down to 50% each day and charge whatever the sun allows.

@@rossmccurry5988 Ah the learning curve has set in lol. Ya that one is the high voltage inverter I guess you didn't find the low voltage one but we have to work with what we got. yes you will need at least one more panel hooked in series to increase the voltage high enough to start that inverter. Check out the manual read it twice or three times as there are limits so the voltage has to be in the range and the watts have to be under maximum which I believe is 1000 watts so with your panel you can only use 2 panels otherwise 3 in series would be over the voltage and 4 panels in series parallel ( 2 in series and 2 sets in parallel) would be over the wattage so the panel selection is critical you may find some used 250 watt panels which would give you a better fit. Now if you go with batteries and charge controller you can have more panels only limited by the charge controller maximum but you have to configure the batteries to a higher voltage at least 48 volts. Hey good luck and if you need more help just ask.

First make sure you have all the settings correct for limit use and the limiter attached to the AC load wires on the mains. It will start when ever you use an AC load. But if you are directly connected to solar without battery then it can only produce however much the panel is making at the time. Hook it all up and shut off the AC you should see the inverter shut down to zero turn on the AC and it will start it should show on the lcd how much load you have then when sun shines it will show how much it is making if it is making more than you are using the limiter is not working if it is working the AC load will show 5 or 10 watts if it shows negative you have to reverse the limiter wire CT.

@@Skynet169 When you hook panels up in series + to - the voltage increases by the amount of the open voltage so with 3 panels you would have to go parallel but with 4 you would hook 2 in series which would likely make 48 volts depends on the panel then parellel the other 2 in series. So you would have 2 sets of 48 volts in parelle which would increase the amperage to 16 amps and have 48 volts. Let them supply 240v. Your electric company meter reads your power usage at 240v. Your meter has one ct in it with both mains going thru it in opposite directions. People don’t understand that and think they have to use a 120v supply from these inverters.. I’ve been using two 2kw 240v inverters for years.

Nice addition no sense sell power for a loss. Sell back benefit is on the way out. The power co here is paying less& less each year plus u get to pay sales tax on it .That's what I was told any way. Powers that be don't want to pay for your power.

@@SelfHandledRogue Thank you my system is different but it needs some more organization, that comes from working with what I can find that is inexpensive and not usually new.
