2020 Twin Vee 310 Review by owner - Rhodan GPS Anchor Review and INTRO TO OUR SPEARFISHING TRIP IN ISLAMORADA! Twin Vee 310 is the most affordable and best riding large center console on the market. I bought this one end of 2019 and I love the ride. I would recommend the boat to anyone. It is a great family boat and a hardcore fishing boat. I installed a 84" Rhodan GPS Anchor Trolling motor and it works great. The video was filmed with the GoPro Hero 8.

The boat weighed 11,300 lbs on certified scales.
That was with 100 gallons of fuel and a few hundred pounds of gear.
1,200 lbs of that weight is tongue weight
2,500 lbs of that weight is the triple axle trailer
See pictures of boat on the scales and the printed certified weights in the link mentioned above along with pictures of electronic gauges reading MPG at various speeds and rpms.
The boat will 48 mph wide open. That’s how fast she goes with 3x19 stock Suzuki props at 5,500 rpm trimmed up until right before cavitation.
The boat will get between 1.7-1.9 mpg at 27-30 mph trimmed correctly under ideal conditions. That the best fuel economy that I’ve seen. I’d recommend the paddle trim under steering wheel.
I would also highly recommend my salesman Keith at Paradise Marine in Gulf Shores Alabama. I swore I’d never buy a new boat but I don’t regret it.

The best advice I can give you on locating good Spearfishing spots is to get Strikelines 3D mapping for your unit. It’s cheaper than CMOR MAPPING and just as good down in the keys for locating the relief. Follow the links below to purchase the chip for your unit. They do not work with Garmin.

Been looking to own a cat since the 90's when Glacier Bay and SeaCat first came on scene, but have only ridden on a couple of private ones. Great video, keep them coming. I’ve seen a lot of comments on the TV owners forum of the boats hold a lot of water / leak. Have you had similar issues? I’ve looked at the Eastward Cats & guys rave about those. Thanks again for the video, I love your boat.

Thanks!! I had an older Twin Vee that was waterlogged bad and asked the guys at factory before I purchased this boat. The newer mode twin vees have perforated draining pipes run through the bulkhead the length of the sponson so that you can drain the sponsors in between bulkheads into the back bilge. There are plugs in the back bilge that you can pull to drain them. I leave the plugs out so I don’t forget to drain them. I spoke about it in the original video I made a while back. I have seen very little water come from these if they are plugged for a while and I pull them. The issue with the original mode was that over time the water that would accumulate due to condensate and screw holes in the deck leaking into the sponsons would saturate the foam over time because there was no way to drain them. These new models will not have that problem I would venture to say but only time will tell. I bet my whole wad though!! Buy one! You won’t regret it. Just don’t get the 26. I’ve heard it’s not the best ride. Go 24, 28 or 31.

Thank you, Sir, for your honest evaluation of your Twin Vee. Been wanting to buy a cat for some time and TV seems to be the most affordable way to get one. But, if you're having these problems I might have to pass on TV and look for something else. Plus, I've owned my Rhodan (24v) for several years on my 22' bay boat and the only time it doesn't work well is when the wind kicks up some serious waves and we're bobbing up and down like corks. That prop comes out of the water (even set at the deepest setting) and it's just not possible to hold firm. My boat ain't nearly as heavy as yours. I'm not even sure if trolling motors are designed for 5-6 ton boats. That's a LOT to ask from any trolling motor.

To be 100% I absolutely love the boat. I do want to give people honest information. The boat had a few issues but Twin Vee has taken care of every single issue with no out of pocket costs. I’ll definitely be buying another.

I have an 18 31GF! But i still only back the trailer (RealX) to the fenders… i dont have any chipping issues. If i back down too far, when pulling out of the water, the sponsons dont press up against front “bumper” and then i have to back down and adjust winch strap

Yeah when I pull up I usually have a gap to but stomp on the brakes at the first stop sign and she closes the gap real nice like. Tighten the winch up and roll out! Lol

Would a roller trailer be more beneficial over your current bunk style trailer? I would think the more rollers the less stress per sq inch, but can they be used on twin vees?

Congratulations!! I always wanted the two 12s but I didn’t want to put my stereo and radio up top. After using the boat a couple of seasons I think the 12 alone is sufficient. The four way split allows me to pull up everything I need. I haven’t measured to see if a 16 would fit but that’s another option. If money wasn’t an object I’d have to go twin 12s and stuff everything else where it would fit. Its such a tough call. Need a little more helm space. It’d be great to have room for twin 22s stereo radios and autopilot right in the front. Let me know what you decide. I’d love to see you setup it might help me decide how I want to rug going forward. I basically told the tech to fit the stereo and radio in so that if I want to widen it for twin displays in the future I would have the option.

@@WildmanWarehouse I have a 240 CC and had one NSS 12 Evo3 installed and just purchased another one for $2000 on sale at West Marine. I had dual screens on my previous boats and really missed having them. Its ideal to have the charts up on one and your echo and sides scan up on the other. Really helps rather than splitting screens three times. Also, C-Map Reveal is excellent for finding the ledges and humps.

The might not have calibrated your fuel gauges correctly. You have to select No every time it prompts you at startup asking if you have added fuel as well. If you answer yes it is going to throw everything off of the original calibration.

Did you look at any of the smaller boats, I think 24 and 28? If so, any significant negatives over the 31 other than size and maybe ride?

I don’t have any personal experience with the new smaller boats. I have heard great things about the 24 and 26 though! I think that the 31 is the best all around. It’s just such a tank. The 28 is good too but it’s the same price as the 31 or more. And the 31 has the original lips which curls the water back down whereas the 28 has straight up sides with not much curl. But I haven’t ridden in one to have any true knowledge of it.

I have about 1-1/2 years with the 24. I downsized from a 30' Robalo to the Twin Vee 240CC. It has a far better ride than my Robalo did and uses 1/3 of the fuel. It does have a bit less room in the back, but the bow is very comparable. The reason I got the 240 is that I like to trailer my boat down to FL from SC a few times a year, and its way easier to tow the 240 and don't need a wide load permit. Also, when I go out locally in SC I go about 60 miles off shore, troll all day and come back and use

Interestingly enough I moved from south Florida and ended up in SC (Summerville) for 20 years and now finishing my career in northern VA so I can retire early and head back to S. Florida (WPB) - at least those are my hopes and become a fisherman for the rest of my life - lol, if my wife is cool with that.

The Rhodan is a huge POS!!! Find a sucker quickly to pawn it off on... I have owned 3 of the 84"s, and they are nothing but a time bomb. Get the Minn Kota 87" whenever you can. We also fish your same areas. I also have the same SIMRAD... Simrad is the workhorse on my boat! Hit my buddy up in Mobile to do your SeaDek...
