My model is the 2019 one. And after almost a year of using it I can say that I only have 2 problems: The battery not lasting long at all (I study,do work,watch yt,edit a vid here and there and watch anime). I don't game at all on it.. The charging cable should have been placed on the back and not the side... Also a minor issue is that the laptop has no sd card slot,the camera could have been better and my unit has a really small dot of black light bleed on the left side end. Apart from those its a really good laptop for all your needs.

Hey guys! I've recently purchased a Helios 300 with i7-10750H, 16GB, 1TB SSD, RTX2060 and a 144hz screen. For some reason my battery life is way lower than the one indicated on the video even in word processing. It lasts roughly 1 hour and 30 min. The weird thing is that it lasted the exact same when I tried out gaming without a charger, but that was only for an old 2009 videogame. Can anyone tell if there's something wrong or did I just get a bad battery in my computer? Thank you all and I hope you're having a good day

Hey there, have you tried changing some of your battery settings? Like for example changing battery mode to battery saver which was what was used to test in this video. Also, you can change “Maximum processor state” in “Processor power management” from advanced power settings to something like 80-85%, so the laptop won’t constantly run at high clock speeds when doing light tasks.

@@little_tofu Thanks for the tip! I did put the battery on save mode but it didn't change anything... I talked to my friend who installed windows for me and programed the computer and he said that he had put it all in maximum performance, so I guess that's what's going on and that's why the battery save mode doesn't change anything as well as the battery life is the same during gaming. I don't know if that makes sense but I guess that's the justification for the problem

I got the same laptop, I was finally able to get 4 hours battery life after months of screwing around with it.....then windows updated. Now it's back to 1 hour of light use and the battery dies. I have tried everything to get rid of the windows update. It works great as a home PC, as a laptop it sucks.

Hi all, hope you all are doing good now, so I just brought Predator Helios 300 with i7 10th gen, RTX 3060. First my battery life was 1 hour max by just doing absolutely nothing(AFK). But after I update my BIOS system, my battery life got from 1 hour max to 2.5hours yup same doing nothing(AFK). So update the BIOS should increase the battery life from what I experience

As for video editing I recommend to check out channels like: - Peter Mckinnon (lots of useful filming and editing tutorials) - Daniel Schiffer (shares many behind the scenes of his professional grade videos) - Orange83 (lots of useful Premiere Pro tips) - PiXimperfect (lots of nifty Photoshop tutorials) Also I recommend to watch as much content as possible. I find that simply watching a video can sometimes inspire or trigger different ideas when it comes to production and editing! Good luck! 😀

anyone having issues with really bad battery on the 2019 helios 300 ? I get roughly an 1:30 of battery life just sitting at the desktop. No background tasks running either.. : (

Hi Riley! I would suggest to check the health of your battery. You can do so by running CMD and pasting the following command: powercfg /batteryreport From what I gather, the 2019 Helios 300 should have a capacity of 58 Wh from new, so if yours is somewhere around that, it means the battery itself is fine. So first give that a go and see if everything is okay with the battery itself. =)

Thank you for your support! As for the fan noise, I think Acer updated their fan design on the new Helios 300. So from my experience, the fans are relatively quiet even during gaming. So, I can't really say if it's applicable for the Helios you're looking to get. However, if the price is right, I think last year's Helios is a great buy! Not that much has changed on this new model, mainly some design details, so I don't think you will miss out on too much not going for the newer model. 👍

Unfortunately, I don't think the battery life is going to be much better with the 2060 GPU... Unless you're doing heavy graphical work, only the integrated Intel graphics is being used, and it still isn't able to achieve good numbers from my experience. :(

I think every 2020 Helios 300 comes with a 230W charger. And yes, charging while gaming will still work. The charging time I believe is around 1.5 hours from flat to full. =)

If you’re moving from a Mac to a Helios, I think you’ll be a bit disappointed by the build quality. But everything else besides the speakers and battery life should be better! I would also recommend the G14. Really solid all rounder that has excellent build and great performance.
