O My Gosh, our story is very close to the same. We had a Arctic Fox 22h for 18 trouble free years and only got rid of it because I was tired of the RV Park 10 year rule. The thing looked great an was in perfect condition. We sold it to a neighbor who put it on his property and we bought a New 2019 Lance 1985. What a mistake! A 2 week trip and 3 weeks in the shop. I could bore you all day with negative Lance stories. We had the Lance 18 months and sold it and bought a 2021 Nash 22h OTG. The only reason we didn’t get the Fox is that they don’t make the 22h any more but do in the Nash. Since getting the Nash my wife passed away and I sold the house, gave away all the stuff and live in it and travel full time. I love my Nash. i

Thanks for your honest review. We just picked up our new Arctic Fox 22G and it is beautiful inside and out. I’m battling sciatic pain so I haven’t even been inside the trailer yet. But my wife loves it. She is the only one of us who has towed it with our Toyota Tundra. She had no problems at all. I sat in the passenger seat and I could hardly tell we were towing a trailer behind us. Anyway, your honest review certainly helped us decide to purchase the 22G. Oh, the factory installed the old style steps at our request that fit under the trailer. No hastle with those big steps that fold upright into the trailer.

I enjoyed this review. Great comment on the wheels and tires. You reenforced my thoughts on the stairs. I'll be interested in knowing your fix. Thanks for taking the time to make meaningful comments.

Great review! We recently purchased a 2022 Arctic Fox 22G and absolutely love it!

I like your simple is better approach. I have serviced wheel bearings for years. You don't have to add grease if you just do a proper service on them every other year. Those EZ Lube axles were created for boat trailers to purge water fouled grease out of the bearings. That's it. The marketing guys just ran with it. After your first year (I'd have done it as soon as I bought it) have your hubs taken apart, inspect the bearings and brakes. Thanks for sharing your first year experience with the Arctic Fox.

Thanks for the reviews. You are right, you can get a normal walk through anywhere. I appreciate you taking the time to go through your experiences and really giving a hands on review. Also loved the split of two different view points. Thanks for the video.

Hi! I had a 24AS and THOUGHT the same- turns out the tiny caps in the center of the hub ON the chrome piece pop off! I ACTUALLY removed all the wheels twice to grease- then found you can flip the little center piece off! These are remarkably well thought out and designed for heat-cold- dry camping rigs, not sure about the fifth wheel, but the 24AS and 27FS are BEASTS and are also toy haulers. Downside? Shower too small. You are quite right about the steps, they do flip dirt in. The layout of the Toy Haulers is genius- you can heat the holding and water tanks using only PROPANE- if inside heated to 72, crack bath vent, the tanks will not freeze (except in very high winds) at 0 degrees F.

Interesting! I had been looking at Lance and was at an RV show a couple weeks ago and fell in love with the 25R. Was looking to downsize from my 32' Jayco 5th wheel with double slides and an island that made the kitchen inaccessible during travel. Mine is a 2024 25R. Noticed a few differences, like I have the 12v DC compressor refrigerator and my windows are awning type which I prefer because the 5th wheel had sliding windows and couldn't have them open in the rain. The build quality on my new unit is phenomenal. Like you said, very few dealers carry the Arctic Fox. My dealer hear in NC, one in PA and one in Missouri. Love being able to access everything with the slide in and it is so bright and well built. Getting ready to take it out for a shakedown trip in another week!

Hey Dave, really like your videos! I seen you may have sold that RV in this video, but something to think about and maybe you have already. They make amber type you could possibly put on those bright lights for future rvs that my have them. Just an idea. Happy camping!!

If I ever get rid of my nash 17k, I’ll be getting this unit. Looks perfect. Been living in my 17k for 2 years traveling and no issues minus really small things I fixed myself. Northwood is a great brand

Will be ordering our new Arctic Fox 22G in a couple days. Wondering what type of truck you tow your 22G with. We have a 1500 GMC Sierra. Thanks so much for sharing your video.

We have a Ram 250 diesel. It pulls the trailer smooth and easy up hills and mountains like it isn’t even there!!!

IF possible make it a 3/4 or 1 ton diesel. NOBODY ever complained "I have to much truck"

My 15 nash has the same water heater, im the original owner and it still works perfectly, dont worry about it, just change the anode every year, i went nash over fox only because the nash has twice the ground clearance

Arctic Fox does make good campers , but I'm with you on the steps. I believe several companies are using those, and I don't like the idea of them folding inside.

We love our Northwood Nash 22H. We downsized from a Arctic Fox 25R. Too many problems with the slide out.

It’s funny you talk about those steps and not liking them. We have an 2019 Arctic Fox 25w with the old style stairs that fold in underneath the trailer. I wanted them because the mess stays outside. We live in the mountains of Montana and go camping in the snow and rain and thought it was a terrible to bring that mess in the trailer and deal with melting snow. You confirmed my suspicions.
@donnasceviour56472 жыл бұрын
You were so right!!! We live in Georgia and it rains a lot here!!! We would love to visit Montana one day.

You are correct, a sofa or a couple recliners, they’re missing. We sold our RV over the winter. It had no storage for clothes. I always had to fold them into the cabinets. Yuck.

We have a 27-5L Arctic Fox and we love it! Very well built, but a tankless water heater and built in inverter would be awesome.

tankless water heaters have their own set of problems. Check it out - bad flow, uneven temperature, - NO thank YOU

We have a 2018 22g and it’s like your talking about a different company. We have had trouble with everything. No help from the dealer or company. Problems with wiring, plumbing, cabinets and delaminating roof.

I was just curious how do you adjust your water in that shower do you use your feet ??? How do you like that please let me know thank you for a great video.
@brentmcmahon81889 ай бұрын
All they had to do is powder coat them , it’s just some manufactures cheap out on they could have at least make it a option and the dealer could of offered it. You can go to Harbor Freight and they have a cheap powder coat gun but the problem is you need a oven big enough to fit the steps in and heat up to 315 degrees. And not big on Artic Fox anyway .

Hi , how is the heat and air conditioner on your AF 22G ?
@donnasceviour56472 жыл бұрын
Outstanding!! 13,500 BTU air conditioner and it is ducted. The heat is toasty and ducted through the floor. We have camped year round.
@BB-in1fb2 жыл бұрын
Hi , forgot , does your 22G have 110 v outlets throughout ? We prefer not to depend on propane
@donnasceviour56472 жыл бұрын
Yes, 110 outlets throughout.

Be careful to not overdue pumping grease into those bearings! You will blow the rear seals and grease your brake shoes.

as soon as you started to walk toward the door i knew you were going to say the stairs, i don't understand why everyone thinks they are so great and putting them on all these campers, they are a complete pain in the butt

I would not like the stairs either. With a triple step on the exterior you can even operate them with a foot. When you stop on the side of the road it makes things easier. Thanks for the review.

I think we will change the steps this summer.

The stairs are a deal breaker for us so we decided not to buy this trailer although we liked pretty much lease about it. Does anyone know how the steps could be removed and replaced with fully external steps?
@Liimpy Жыл бұрын
They can be changed easily, you can do it yourself or pay any rv shop
@shelleyt3048 Жыл бұрын
Squish: thank you for this reply. I had no idea the factory or an RV shop would change out the steps. We’ll be taking another look at the trailer! 😀
